We love the Front Porch tearoom. We’ve been 4 times, most recently March 13, 2021. The staff is phenomenal, the food is simply amazing. The March specials are why we went, can’t wait to see what’s up for April!!

The tea and food was great and the atmosphere delightful including the outside. The bathrooms are upstairs and this posed a bit of a problem for my senior friends who went with me.

A friend of mine wanted to try a High Tea at The Hotel Hershey and while a group of us were sitting AT THE TEA, we were all saying how WONDERFUL the teas are at The Front Porch Tea Room! Even The Hotel Hershey cannot provide a High Tea as EXCELLENT as they are here!!! I have had the pleasure of enjoying multiple High Teas here for several occasions and just as a group outing with friends. We compare any other tea to The Front Porch Tea Room and none can measure up. The food is always excellent, the price is reasonable for the amount of food and tea you enjoy when compared with other tea businesses, the ladies who work here are delightful and the owner goes out of her way to make sure you receive the BEST!

The Front Porch Tea Room is fabulous. Upon arriving, the decor is a perfectly Victorian environment for a relaxing tea with a friend. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We had unlimited tea, being allowed to order new flavors as much as we wanted. Melody was a delight. She was sweet, friendly and informative but not overbearing. We expressed the desire to take a few of our treats to a friend recovering from surgery and Melody packed up some extras. This was one of my favorite tea room experiences. I was so sorry not to meet Bonnie as she was not in the tearoom the day we visited but her recipes were wonderful. Thanks Bonnie and Melody.

This was my second experience at a Tea Room and it was much nicer than the first. I thought the first was very nice but this one was far superior. The tea began with a delicious salad with a heavenly poppy seed dressing that was excellent. I wish they would have sold the salad dressing in their gift shop because they would have sold out the day we were there. All of the persons attending raved about the dressing. Then there scones (blueberry lemon and cheddar dill) also very delicious. Then a soup was served which I chose to have the strawberry and cream with strawberry wine. It was a cold soup but so delicious. THe finger sandwiches were also an excellent choice. Lastly the dessert was a grilled pound cake with ice cream and strawberries. I cannot say enough about the tea. It was wonderful. Not to be forgotten were the grounds that were peppered with tea cups/saucers, tea pots and various childrenslike toys. I would highly recommend this everyone for a real treat. Reservations must be made as the space is limited. Many, many thumbs up on this one.

This was my first time at the front porch tea room and I was impressed. I brought my grandmother for the Mother's Day tea and we had a lovely time. They have such a long list of teas to chose from, all lose leaf I believe and the hostess was very helpful in recommending house favorites. The food was all fresh and delicious. We left very full. The tea room was also decorated wonderfully. Overall it was a wonderful day and I can't wait to go back again.

Love, love, love The Front Porch Tearoom. I love the variety of soups. The strawberry and peach soups were my favorites. I had breakfast there this past Saturday with some of my family. It was the best! So much food and it was delicious. The caramel French toast was yummy. Lynette was great! Thank you for your hospitality, as usual Bonnie. I will be back.

One word: amazing. I signed up for the tour at the last minute, so had no expectations and knew nothing about the establishment. Oh my. The owner/cook/hostess Bonnie is wonderful, welcoming, and really wants you to enjoy the experience. All the wait staff are so informed and considerate. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The house is lovely. And, the gardens are expertly landscaped. It was hard to leave. This is a very special place!!

Such a cute and relaxing place to go. I would recommend this to everyone. The food is delicious, and we left with a full belly! The decorations are just beautiful, and a majority are for sale so you can make your own home nice and cozy. Last but not least the staff is very sweet and kind. My mother and I really enjoyed the tea room experience here. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and friendly. The food was exceptional! I cannot stop thinking about how wonderful it was. We are having my sister's baby shower here in a few weeks and we cannot wait for all of our guests to experience all this tea room has to offer. Highly recommended!

First time visit - I took my mother for her birthday lunch. What a fabulous place! We enjoyed every moment from meeting and talking with the owner, Bonnie, and our wonderful, knowledgeable server, Sharon, to eating delicious food and many choices of tea to choose from. I have visited this tea room on multiple occasions and each time has been a perfect experience. Every January I take my mother in law for tea for her birthday and we have been to every tea room in the local York/Lancaster area and must say this is my favorite around. Thank you Bonnie and Sharon for making our January 30th visit so special.

Visited this York County gem for the first time on Saturday. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the teas were awesome. The service was fantastic, the staff made us feel welcome and that they appreciated our patronage. The rooms are beautifully decorated, truly a delightful dining experience. Looking forward to a return visit.

Had a great experience at Front Porch with some girl friends last evening. The Snowflake tea was amazing! I ended up purchasing some and I am drinking it as we speak. The High Tea was great- we loved the pumpkin soup and the salad dressing was to die for. Such a fun and little unique tea room.

A very special tearoom where the presentation is beautiful and the food is delicious. Love the people here. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
-

I enjoyed my experience immensely. The staff was friendly, attentive, and fun. and the food was excellent! The 3 teas we tried were delicious: Snowflake, a black tea with coconut and almond (and I don't like coconut) was surprisingly great. Winter Nog, a warm and cinnamony flavor was my favorite. and Sleighbell, a very fruity blend was light. We were a private party and it was very relaxing to sit and chat, visit around the tables, browse and shop each room, and never be rushed and be served when we were ready! It was a delightful way to spend a Christmas season Saturday afternoon!

What a great tea room, sensory overload and that is a good thing. You are visually stunned by the beautifully decorated rooms. Then the food, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Next shopping great gifts for Christmas or maybe I'll have to go back again to buy something for me. The staff was attentive and on point throughout my experience. Can't wait to return and I will spread the word about this great tea room. Keep up the great work very deserving of 1st in PA.😊

I have been a patron of The Front Porch Tea Room for over 10 years. I have visited several other tea rooms in the past, and always seem to compare it to The Front Porch. You just can't beat the atmosphere, the hospitality and the food.
I had an opportunity last fall to start working at The Front Porch Tea Room and now I get to enjoy it even more.
Thank you Bonnie!!

My daughter (8 years old) and I enjoyed a mother/daughter time together for breakfast on Black Friday morning. The ladies (hostesses) were so delightful, pleasant and welcoming. The food was exceptional- flavorful and just the right temperature for enjoying each item. The teas were numerous and delicious. Decorated for the Christmas holiday, the tea room was an inviting, warm and comfortable setting to relax with one another. It was my daughter's first time in the tea room and she had a fabulous time. She is ready to go back again!

It was my first visit to this tea room and I loved it! I have recently moved to the area and love going to tea rooms. This time I went with two other friends from out of town. We have visited several other tea rooms in MD and PA and this one makes the top of my list. I will definitely return. They serve a wonderful selection of loose tea leaves (which is the best kind, in my opinion). The atmosphere was perfect and it was beautifully decorated for Christmas.

What a lovely gem of a tearoom. The house is beautifully decorated including hand painted murals on the walls. The front porch swing was a perfect place to continue our conversation after tea. The tea itself was just excellent from salad to scones, luscious peach soup, yummie finger sandwiches and desserts. We had a blueberry lavender tea(hot) and a cold peach ice tea which were wonderful with our various courses. We will definitely visit this tea room again.
-
Diane
What a delightful experience. The Front Porch Tearoom is decorated with typical tea room decorations. Hats are available is you like to dine wearing one. There were not a lot of tea choices but we had one of the best teas we ever tasted. The food was excellent. The salad was a show stopper, the best. Everything was great including our hostesses. We will definitely be going back to The Front Porch Tearoom.
-
Pam
The Tearoom was nicely decorated, drawing you from one room to the next. Every wall, niche, and space brought your eye to the paintings, hand crafted items , personal items (scarves, jewelry, etc) & the many teas (of course)! Having to stay w/a decaf tea I was very happy to see the many choices. My favorite was 'Polar Fire' The food was served in a non-rushed atmosphere (we were there for 2 hrs.)with soothing music playing in the background. All of the food was great but if I had to pick one favorite it would be the chilled Blueberry soup (it was excellent) but their salad w/their own secret dressing comes in @ a close 2nd. We were there for a Sunday afternoon tea on the hottest day of the summer (at least up to that point)! They were so nice to allow us the choice of being outside under a canopy or inside in the AC. (We took the AC!) The staff was very professional and helpful. Our overall experience was a delightful one. If you choose to have your tea inside don't miss taking a walk in the garden.(It's worth your time! This is a place to which we shall return again whether it be for Breakfast or for High Tea.

This tearoom is excellent. Our Red Hat group had a choice of 3 teas from a well-balanced list. Everyone also had a refreshing glass of cold peach tea. The salad was great, mixed greens, fruit, nuts, feta cheese plus a tasty dressing. We had 2 kinds of scones with all the accompaniments. The next course included a choice of a cold (black cherry) or hot (garden vegetable soup. Some in our group chose one or the other, but all agreed they were superb. The sandwiches were also varied and excellent. My favorites were the garlic aioli pinwheel and BLT in a filo cup. Finally we had a choice of desserts. Some had the chocolate peanut butter cake; some had the butter pecan cake, some had the coconut cream cake; one had bread pudding; and one had peppermint mousse. The service was cordial and prompt. We will definitely make a return visit. the whole atmosphere is lovely. We highly recommend The Front Porch Tearoom.

This is one of my most favourite places to have tea. Bonnie Helm is an awesome hostess and even better cook. From the scones to the soups to the desserts, everything is top notch including the wonderful atmosphere. I'm blessed to live down the street from this marvelous tea room. It is well worth any drive to experience the amazing Front Porch Tea Room.

Every year, for Mother's Day, my sister and I take our mom out for tea. We have been to many places over the years, but the Front Porch Tearoom is BY FAR the BEST! The food is always delicious and the hospitality is great! The lady that took care of us while we were there for tea, was fabulous and is so sweet! Most recently, we went for the breakfast tea. The casserole was wonderful and the carmel soaked french toast was out of this world. The outside garden was beautiful and full of blooming flowers. I look forward to going back in the near future!

We had a wonderful high tea today. Not only was the food simply delicious as usual, but the warm and friendly staff make the experience one to remember. The salted caramel cake deserves rave reviews! Loved the rooibus tea. Cream of mushroom soup was some of the best I have tasted.

Had a wonderful tea again on April 25th. Service was excellent as always and the food was delicious. Bonnie you have such a wonderful tearoom, my favorite!

This was our first visit to a Tea Room and the staff and owner were very pleasant. The decorations were awesome and the table setting was so inviting. The breakfast sweets were served first and they were warm and delicious. The caramel French toast was extremely sweet and rich. The Strata must have had a million calories with the bacon, ham and sausage. It didn't taste fresh and was dry. Both the Strata and the French toast were not hot but room temperature. The teas were awesome. It was a relaxing visit.

The tea room was beautiful, tea hot in a cozy, and the food was delicious! Best tea room I have been to for the money.

The coconut cake was my most favorite today not that any of the food or tea choices were bad because they were not. I'll look forward to my next tea there. Thank you for lovely relaxing afternoon.

We visited with the ladies from our church small group and had a wonderful time at the breakfast! We learned a lot about the history of High Tea, but the service never felt snobby or stuffy. The staff was fun and friendly and the food was delightful- and the portions were surprisingly hearty!

We come every year to celebrate two birthdays, normally in December but the weather caused us to delay until March 7th. As always, the food was wonderful, decor gorgeous, and the service - superior and pleasant. Three generations of women, we posed for a family photo on the staircase. We've come here for several years and hope to come for several more! Thank you Bonnie.

My friends and I came to the Front Porch Tearoom to celebrate our senior year in high school and it was absolutely fantastic! The owner Bonnie was so sweet and catered to my party in both a professional and amiable manner. The food was delicious and all homemade by Bonnie herself (we ate every bite)! I would suggest this authentic and reasonably priced tearoom to anyone!
-

I just visited the tearoom with my friend for her birthday and it was a marvelous experience. Everything was delicious, my favorite being the savory tomato cream soup with croutons, the chocolate cranberry scones with clotted cream and the scrumptious chocolate raspberry chambord cake. The snowflake tea was wonderful too! Thanks Bonnie for making Lisa's birthday a very special one at the tea room!
-
Lisa Rabzak
As a regular at the Front Porch, I highly recommended it to anyone and everyone! Bonnie and her staff are wonderful and fun and make the whole experience even better. The food is incredible - I have never, ever had one thing that was not excellent. Bonnie's pumpkin soup in November and December is exceptional - most definitely the best soup I have had in my life! Thanks Bonnie for making every visit so special!

My husband treated me to a quiet and cozy night out. The atmosphere was great for talking and hearing each other. The lighting was dim but not dark. My husband enjoyed his English breakfast tea and I enjoyed the iced peach tea. We each had a bowl of soup, potato my husbands favorite and myself chicken rice with peas. All excellent The pot roast was perfectly done. The staff were friendly and helpful. The owner was friendly and made us feel like old friends. We had carrot cake (my husband said the best he has had in years!) and myself a chocolate with raspberry and white chocolate. We had gone there several years ago for valentines day and my husband thought it would be a nice surprise to revisit. The March menu of chicken and waffles will have us returning with friends. The comfort food menu is a great idea to inspire married couple to go out for a quiet home cooked meal.
-
Linda Landis
The Pot Roast dinner was excellent and the desserts to die for. Our service couldn't be better and the waitress and the owner made us feel very much at home. Definitely going back in March for the Chicken and Waffles.

It was my first time ever going to a tea and I was very impressed by the quality of food and the level of service that we received. My friend and I currently work in the restaurant industry and we are pretty picky. But I was in awe at how good ALL of the food tasted. The owner was the only one serving and making the food and she was very attentive and made us feel at home, it felt like we were in England having tea. I loved it and will defiantly go back, Im already thinking of when to go.
-
Connie Cieszynski
I was impressed with the amount of food given as I sometimes leave Tea Rooms less than full. Especially loved the lemon poppyseed dressing on our salads and the sea Carmel scone. Huge bowl of soup was especially good on this cold afternoon. Owner and servers were very attentive

Went to the Front Porch for the first time on Friday 11/29 even though I am from York County and have been to many other tearooms. The food was exceptional and the decor is beautiful. The only bad thing was having to choose from two wonderful soups and just one of the 6-8 yummy desserts. We enjoyed it so much my daughter and I went back on Sunday for the Open House and had dessert and tea again. We are already planning our next tea time.
-

I was very pleased with my first visit to the Front Porch Tea Room. We were greeted so warmly upon entering ,you felt like you were at home. The entire staff was very informative, polite, and friendly. The homemade salad dressing was unbelievable and the fall themed soup and sandwiches were great. I am looking forward to attending one of there special events in the future.

My 2 companions and I have enjoyed taking tea at many places on the East Coast and eagerly anticipated visiting the Front Porch and enjoying our experience. The venue is absolutely charming and Victorian. We were immediately escorted to our table where our salads were plated and awaiting our arrival. Delicious! However, we were very dissappointed to discover that we all had to decide on one variety of tea for the table to share versus each patron receiving their own pot of tea. The varieties of tea were plentiful. We next received our scones served on one serving dish with two skimpy scones per patron. The scones were soft and presented more like Pillsbury cookie dough. We were dissappointed at not receiving a 3 tier proper tea presentation as much as we were with the scones. Next we received our bowls of soup which were delicious but odd to be served after the scones. Our sandwich plate was delivered after the soup, 9 sandwiches on one luncheon plate. They were good but not special. After soup we were encouraged to pick a dessert from the menu of several choices which we had boxed to take with us. Our server was asked twice for water before we received it in a room with only 2 other occupied tables. The owner visited our table but in our opinion stayed too long telling and selling us on the Front Porch. The tea was $23 per person and is in line with what other tea rooms charge but honestly We felt it was overpriced for the value we received. The owner explained she doesn't give guests their own pot due to her lack of tea pots.....hmmmm. It was okay but the variety, and the presentation, in our opinion was severely lacking. Go for the decor and salad.

Just back from another wonderful tea at the Front Porch. Have been going there for years and never disappointed. You never leave there hungry, for sure. The service is great and the food is always wonderful. Scones were still warm - fresh out of the oven - Yum Yum. The salad, soup, sandwiches, scones, dessert and tea were all delicious. Also, their special events are so fun. Will be going to the Teddy Bear Tea with my niece again this year - she had such fun last year. My favorite tea room!

I can't express enough, how wonderful an experience this was for us. I traveled some distance to find this gem of tea room. The food was excellent as well as presentation and explanation of each course as it was served. The service provided was friendly and competent. I felt like I was visiting family. That's how I was treated. Overall this little gem should not be overlooked. A beautiful experience

In a word: 'Delightful'. My daughter and I have been going to tea rooms twice a year for quite a few years. So far we have not repeated tea rooms since we enjoy seeing new places. However, this one is going to be a repeat. The owner and the other woman who served our tea and food were very warm and friendly. The food was delicious. Since we are soup lovers their having a different soup each month is a plus. The scones were outstanding were wonderful, the sandwiches tasty. For dessert my daughter ordered the lemon cake which I tasted and thought was excellent. I had chocolate cake that 'was to die for'. It was a warm day when we were there - the iced peach tea was the best. The hot teas we had were excellent also. All in all a wonderful experience and we are looking forward to our next trip there even tho I have to drive two hours to get there.

Took my mama here for her birthday and had a wonderful experience. We have visited many tea rooms, but the atmosphere and how friendly the owner and staff were make this our new favorite place to have tea. I just moved from Baltimore to York and was looking for a new place to have tea and I feel like I hit the jackpot finding The Front Porch Tea Room. It is so convenient to anyone in the York area and right down the road from us so we will be visiting frequently in the future. The outdoor garden is also cozy and beautiful and they offer so many events besides tea that I'm looking forward to attending......did I also mention the tea and food was wonderful...I had to purchase some snowflake tea to bring home with me...it's that good!

The Front Porch is an ideal setting for a bridal shower. Bonnie is an exceptional and very gracious hostess, allowing us to spend all afternoon enjoying each other's company without feeling rushed or hurried...she is very welcoming and accommodating. The food was delicious and beautifully presented...staff is friendly and courteous. We will all have special long-lasting memories of our afternoon at the Front Porch.

I have been coming to the Front Porch Tea Room for several years and it is ALWAYS excellent! There isn't a better combination of food, tea, hospitality and gardens around. Bonnie makes everyone feel special with her great food and teas and her warm and caring conversation. I am very fortunate to have recently won the grand prize at her open house this spring - a year's worth of high tea! I look forward each month to Bonnie's creations (especially the cold soup and fabulous desserts), but I didn't need to be the winner to want to come back!

Love Front Porch Tea Room! Always go for High Tea and love the food. The salad is the high point for me. There is always a variety of choices. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the garden is beautiful. I have had two parties here (one just this past weekend) and they have both been beautiful successful events thanks to Front Porch Tea Room.

What a delightful afternoon. I've never been to a tea room before and wasn't sure what to expect. We started out picking fun hats to wear, then gathered at a cozy table in the back room of the Victorian house in which the tea room is located. The food was very good. I loved the salad with its fruit-flavored poppy seed vinaigrette (I believe), candied pecans and dried cherries(?); the caramel sea salt and the raspberry white chocolate scones; and the tiramisu cake in particular; but the very best thing I had was the yellow peach iced tea. It's one of the best teas I've ever drunk. (The other two courses were soup and sandwiches.)
The staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful (especially when taking photos on the front porch afterwards). We weren't rushed at all.
If you are looking for a unique, fun, relaxing experience, you should try the Front Porch Tea Room. (And don't forget to check out the gift shop upstairs.)

This was my second visit to The Front Porch and I have to say it didn't disappoint. The food was just as fresh and tasty as I remember from my first visit. Today I brought a group of ladies that I work with and they enjoyed it as well. It was nice to come in the spring to see the gardens this time.

My childhood friend and I visited The Front Porch Tea Room on Saturday, May 24, 2014. We had the most spectacular time. I am already missing it. The food was amazing and completely top notch. Bonnie and Sharon are so sweet and darling. Sharon is so attentive to everyone in the room and she certainly has a good time while serving us. Bonnie is an amazing cook. Her delights are the best I have ever tasted! She is extremely talented! The portions are generous too! Bonnie and Sharon love what they do! I hope when Bonnie retires that her business is continued the same. I wish I lived closer because I would make reservations for her Brunch specials and her other dinners. I believe I could even get my husband to attend one of the dinners. He would be delighted with the quality of menu. Thank you Bonnie and Sharon for giving my friend and I a wonderful afternoon. We can not thank you enough, truly! THANK YOU and WE MISS YOU ALREADY! SMILES, Joy xoxoxo

My childhood friend and I visited The Front Porch on May 23rd and we had THE MOST delightfully amazing experience! The food and service were excellent, and it is such a quaint and charming atmosphere. We found the owner, Bonnie, and her assistant, Sharon, to be very engaging, attentive, and very hospitable. The iced yellow peach tea is refreshingly delightful, and the home-made salad dressing is scrumptious! The desserts are quite simply to die for, and guests are given the option to choose their own dessert from among an assortment of delectable concotions. I've visited quite a few tea rooms, and I must admit that the portions at the Front Porch are more generous than most. The Front Porch surpassed my expectations, and I am already looking forward to my next visit!

I have been here four or five times now, but this was the first time I was able to bring my daughter. I was aware of the age request from The Front Porch (must be 5-years-old), and can absolutely appreciate why they have it. It's a small Victorian house with lots of breakables and a quiet, serene ambiance - not really the appropriate place for the very littles. My daughter is now 7, though, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our 'girls tea time.'
The food, as always, was superb. The salad dressing is so amazing! Everything was so flavorful, and there was such a variety that was offered. I left stuffed.
And the tea - SO good. The peach iced tea was the best I've ever tasted. Our selections for the hot tea were a cinnamon vanilla and spiced chai, both of which were so good.
The employees are always so nice and accommodating. They were all so sweet to my little girl, too. Even though I live a good 45 minutes away, and there are tea rooms much closer to home, I've never been to any of them, because I'd much rather travel further for what I'm 100% sure will be a postiive experience.

A perfect setting for a baby shower. Looking forward to going back for casual outing with friends.
The yellow peach tea is highly recommended!

I have been here 3 times now and have always had a good experience. The food is wonderful, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the gardens are relaxing and beautiful. Every time I visit, I'm impressed with the delicious teas and creative soups offered. Today I had a divine cinnamon vanilla hot tea, but my favorite was the refreshing peach iced tea. What a nice surprise! Of course I can't leave a review without mentioning the desserts. There were many tempting choices. Luckily I had my daughter with me, (she is 6) so we shared and got to taste two of them. She chose the Boston crème cake, and I had the red velvet with cream cheese icing. Both were amazing!
After our tea, we explored the lovely gardens and posed for a few pictures. We even discovered a small 'fairy garden'. What fun! Thank you Miss Bonnie and staff for a memorable and wonderful experience. We will be back to see you again soon!

I have been to this tea room before and don't remember it being any different than any tea experience that I have had before. Today however was not as good. They offered two tea selections and both were flavored teas of which I do not like. They did offer to make me a different tea of which I picked a plain black tea. It has a funny taste to it so asked for a darjeeling which had a spicy taste similar to the chai tea that was one of their offerings of the day. The salad was really good and the soup was fine. Scones were brought out next and were very good but I didn't care for the sandwich selections. It guess the tea just really set the tone for tea today which wasn't good.

This is my third time at the Front Porch, and since it's quite a distance from our home, it's been years since we've been there. However, I really wanted to take my mom, as she was visiting PA for Mother's Day. She (and I) enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks again, Bonnie.

Was there recently with a friend. As always the place was fabulous. The new decor is just perfect. Loved it before, love it even more. Service, food, presentation always top notch. The best. The service is outstanding. Always feel like I was invited into someone's home when at the front porch tea room. Love talking, eating, with friends. You can do that here it is quiet and relaxing. The gardens are beautiful. You can tell Bonnie has a love of what she does. See you soon your open house was very nice.

My granddaughter, Sierra, and I have been coming to The Front Porch Tearoom for about 12 years. We have visited many other tearooms in the area but we always come back to our favorite Front Porch Tearoom. We love the time we share there as well as talking to Bonnie, the owner. The food is excellent, the atmosphere and ambiance are outstanding and we always leave with a warm happy feeling. It is the best and we love it! Definitely a 5 star tearoom!

Was there today with my friend for her birthday. Have been going to the Front Porch since 2001. Went with girls from work, church, my daughter, friends etc. I have been to at least 4 other tea rooms, and the Front Porch is the best in atmosphere, quality of food, preparation, ambience, and service. So much better than the Victorian Tea Parlor in Spring Grove, where the service was terrible, more expensive etc. The owner, Bonnie Helm, is very gracious as her hostess is also. Always feel welcomed and at home. The flowers are especially beautiful this time of year. As I said previously, for the money, quality, atmosphere, this Victorian home is the place to go!!!
-
Pat
We are a group of four 'Tea Ladies' who enjoy real tea rooms. This was a first trip to the FPTR but will not be our last. The décor was a lovely Victorian, large selection of teas and we felt more like guests in Bonnie's home than her business. If the tea room was a little closer we would be there quite frequently. Thanks, Bonnie for a wonderful afternoon.

It is so much more than a tea room. It is a unique place in our community that brings together a beautiful historical location with great service, great food and a place to enjoy a leisurely meal with your family and friends.

My wife and I went to the Front Porch Tea Room for Valentines Day. Everything and I mean everything was above our expectations. The atmosphere was perfect. The staff was awesome. The food could not have been better at any five star restaraunt. This has to be one of the best kept secrets in York. If you are looking for an intimate setting with the best staff, food, and just plain wonderful hospitality, then this is the place. We can't wait to go back!

The Valentine dinners at the Front Porch Tea room were a delight. The food was excellent, the ambiance romantic, and the service staff friendly. Will hopefully be returning soon!

I first went to this tea room last Spring and liked it so much I have been there 3 or 4 times since then. The food is always incredible and you don't leave hungry! The homemade salad dressing is delicious and all of her soups are flavorful. The scones are always fresh and warm with a variety of flavored. There is always something new to try. I also love the fresh, homemade full-size dessert. You usually have 6-7 choices on the dessert menu and they are all amazing. The atmosphere is Victorian and the owner and servers are pleasant and enjoyable to talk with. I will continue to go here at least a few times a year (as often as I can)!

Marian
We hosted a baby shower here on a Sunday afternoon and the ladies did a marvelous job! There were 21 ladies in our party and we were given an explanation of each course as it was brought out. The food was delicious, savory, and sweet! As soon as the party was over, we couldn't wait to plan our next visit. The ladies were so friendly and provided a perfect presentation of each course. I highly recommend this venue for private parties and will definitely be visiting for a regular high tea soon!

My girlfriends and I have visited The Front Porch Tea Room at least once per year for the past several years and every time the experience is like the first time! They have never served anything that we didn't like. Bonnie's pumpkin soup is to die for! There is always something new to taste and experience. The staff are so friendly and welcoming it's like you're coming home. Love, love, love this tea room!

This tea room is awesome! The Owner speaks to you personally which we all loved and the staff was very pleasant! They really cared to make sure you enjoyed your visit. This was our first time at this tea room. We came on 8/21/13. The tea room is very clean and decorated Victorian! The food was very good! We all left extremely full! Generous portions and very flavorful! This will not be our last trip to this tea room! We had a wide variety of ages in our group (age 30-70) and I want every age group to experience this awesome pleasant high end tea room!!

This is my favorite tearoom!!!
I took three ladies who have never been before and they had a wonderful time. Bonnie is a delight and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect.
In my opinion this should be number 1. Her salad dressing as well as the salad was delicious. The sandwiches, scones with a choice of clotted cream, lemon, curd and strawberry were all fresh and scrumptious. We had a hot tea that was almond flavored and we were offered a wonderful peach ice tea. This was my 5th time and won't be my last. We strolled though the gardens and the flowers were lovely also. Such a relaxing place.

I just got home from another WONDERFUL tea at the front porch! My grandma and I have been going to Front Porch as our favorite tea room for over 10 years now. We have tried many other tea rooms, and none compare to the Front Porch! The owner, Bonnie, makes all the delicious foods from scratch and adds her creative flair to each and every course. The front porch is well-worth every penny! I'm looking forward to my next visit :)

Breakfast with good friends, sharing memories of past visits to The Front Porch, enjoying great food, talking to Bonnie, our 'hostess with the mostess.' One can tell she loves her job. She and our server were SO accomodating. We have been there many times now and are treated just like family. Recommend this tea room to all who want to sit, relax, and enjoy! Thanks, Bonnie.

One of the best tea rooms that I have visited. I have been here several times and the food is delicious and plentiful. The tea is tasty and I love that everyone gets their own pot of tea. The atmosphere is perfectly victorian and provides the right mix of cozy, warm, and bright. If you have the privilege of trying their cupcakes, I have not had better. They are moist, cake-y, and creative. As an added bonus visitors can pick their own hat to wear as they enjoy the experience. Thank you for consistently great experiences each time! I look forward to visiting again.

Three best friends from Maryland and West Virginia wanted to go to a special place. The Front Porch Tearoom is as special as you will ever find. From the most gracious server of the most delicious food and best peach tea, to having our pictures taken with our choice of a fancy hat, to a walk in the beautiful gardens. It was a special day to remember and can't wait to go back.

we had our daughter's engagement party at the Front Porch Tea Room. The Victorian theme is awesome. The food is unique and delicious. Bonnie and her staff have planned fabulous ideas...the hats that you wear when you dine, the outstanding menu, and the beautiful gift shop. My hat's of to the Front Porch Tea Room!!!

Going for tea was a treat from my Mom and my 5 year old daughter. She has been wanting to go for tea for some time now. We had such a great time! The food and atmosphere was excellent! My daughter loved that you can pick different hats to wear. We have made a reservation for cookies and cocoa with Santa and can't wait to go back!

The Front Porch Tearoom 'Not your typical tearoom' truly is a one of a kind due to the beautiful owner Bonnie Helm. A huge tea pot sits on the front lawn. The outside gardens provide a serene setting that is absolutely gorgeous! The atmosphere inside the Tea Room is warm, with a heart of friendliness. The food is delicious, and the owner 'Bonnie' was most gracious and suggestd to our group that we eat slowly, relax and enjoy! Thank you Bonnie for a wonderful day!!

My friend and I had a wonderful time at The Front Porch Tea Room recently with our mothers, 90 and 87 years old! The setting was ideal, as always, allowing us to converse and enjoy the delicious food offered with our tea. We especially liked the soups that day, a cold peach and warm mushroom. Just a charming place.

Loved The Front Porch tea room! Excellent food, great atmosphere and our server Eleanor was very sweet, helpful and professional. I took a friend who was visiting from San Francisco to the Front Porch for high tea and she very impressed with the beautiful Victorian house and decor. We have heard such wonderful things about the owner, Bonnie but unfortunately we didn't get to meet her this time. Hopefully next visit. I am planning on returning soon to take a friend out to high tea for her birthday.

It was everything I wished for and more.Lovely gardens and views out the windows. Inside was done in Victorian decor with fun hats throughout.Best of all was the delicious food and a server who enjoyed the day as much as we did. This was a wonderful experience and I'm anxious to do it again. Thank-you

I have had high tea at The Front Porch perhaps a half dozen times now, and on my most recent trip brought 8 friends along, some for their first tearoom experience. Every one of us had an absolutely delightful time, and are planning another visit very soon. Everything served was delicious; we especially enjoyed the cherry soup (a cold soup - a special treat on a very hot day!) and the blueberry scones, with the perfect touch of sugar sprinkles, for added sweetness. Tea, of course, is endless, kept hot under tea cozies, and immediately replenished whenever they ran dry. The peach iced tea was another special treat, on a warm summer day. Other favorites were the clotted cream, lemon curd, and Bonnie's homemade salad dressing. The desserts offered something for everyone's taste, whether strawberry, chocolate, lemon, raspberry, and so on. So hard to choose! Some of us bought cupcakes to go, to share with friends and family not present! Perhaps next time! Bonnie is the perfect hostess, we always enjoy chatting with her. It's easy to see she truly loves welcoming guests to her tearoom!

My two girlfriends and I had a delightful time for tea at The Front Porch. Bonnie is charming and the food was wonderful. We will be back soon for sure.

My husband and I went for High Tea today and it was just perfect. The atmosphere is always welcoming and Bonnie the owner is a delight to speak with. She gives you little tidbits of information and always makes you feel like you are an extra special guest no matter how many people she is serving. We will definitely be returning. Love it, love it.
-
Kathy
We've been here several times, and it has always been wonderful! Love the atmosphere - just what a tea room should be. The food is always excellent, and the soups, sandwiches and deserts change monthly. You get plenty to eat. The owner, Bonnie, is always so welcoming, and will chat with you during your stay. Also, her salad dressing is homemade, and just great!

My daughter and I have been to the Front Porch Tea Room many times. It is our very favorite tea room in York County. Bonnie the owner is always welcoming and entertaining. Some tea houses are very stuffy, but not the Front Porch. It is a very relaxed, comfortable experience. The fruit ambrosia and the delicious salad is what keeps us returning. The soups and desserts are the best.

My mother & I recently had the experience of a perfect interlude at this charming tea room. We were delighted with the wonderful atmosphere and the food was to die for. Every little detail was perfect! Beautiful dishes and the presentation of each course was pure artistry. Check out the salt & pepper shakers on each table - they're all different and wonderful! Such attention to detail. This tea room is in our top 5 and we will be back! Bonnie was the perfect hostess and she had to run the show herself on that particular day, but she carried on with such grace. A perfect tea in perfect victorian style!
-
Kathy
My sister put together a group of us to go to this particular tea room. I've only gone a few times to different ones in the past & not real taken with them. So I went going into it as just spending the time together with my sisters and aunt. Well - I was very pleasantly surprised as it was a grand experience of a Tea room! EVERY single thing we were served was wonderful! Our server happened to be the owner and she was absolutely lovely & so informative on many things. What a blessed time. I would highly say to try THIS Tea Room! I hope to go back again.

As part of my birthday gift, my mother invited me to tea in my hometown of York, PA in November 2011. I came from South Carolina because my mother raved about this fantastic tea room she had been to several times in recent months. I was a little nervous about a tea party, as my perception was that they looked to be a stuffy experience only enjoyed by old ladies. Well, my perception couldn't have been more wrong. The Front Porch Tea Room was decorated in a beautiful victorian fashion, both inside and out. The gift shop was extensive and had something for everyone. The owner was our server and she added fantastic conversation to our meal. She was a wonderful hostess and described each course we were to be enjoying. The food was EXCEPTIONAL! I had never tasted ambrosia salad before, but I have found a new favorite. The pumpkin soup was the best I had ever tasted and I will be placing a special order for their salad dressing when I come into town next. The teas were good, but the food was out-of-this-world!!! There was so much food, we had to take some home with us. I can't believe my mother didn't take me here before, but I hope it is part of my birthday present every year. I will be making it part of my trips to PA in visits to come. I highly recommend this tea room. It has truely elevated the tea parties I had as a little girl to a whole new level. Ms. Bonnie, your tea room was simply amazing! Thank you!

This place came highly rated and we were disappointed at best. Main complaint was the not pleasant server, lukewarm tea and chipped cup that didn't even match the saucer.

Last week took two friends to tea in Hallam. We three had enjoyed another local tea room together so I wanted to share this one with them next. They ranked Bonnie's Front Porch Tearoom as top of those we've experienced together. One of the ladies had taken High Tea during trips to England. I lived in Bermuda 18 mo.during high school and remembered sharing teas with school friends after taking the local bus to Hamilton. (So grown up, don't you know.) Front Porch Tea Room falls between being more formal than my Bermudian memories but far more casual than friend's British High Tea experiences. House salad was beyond delicious, using nice mix of creatively arranged, tasty ingredients. Amazing range of tea choices available. Can't imagine anyone not finding one they could enjoy. Tea service was casual in a winning way. Bonnie's people skills enliven each aspect of taking tea among the Victorian decor enlivened by casual garden touches. Each of several small rooms opens invitingly one after another, tiny tea lamps light each occupied table for a cozy ambience in natural daylight that peeks through windows set into thick stone walls and peek out at seasonal gardens and greenery. Yes, Front Porch Tea Room is unerringly touched with charm. In our group last week, none cared to don hats but we had fun looking at the variety. Also appreciated Bonnie's protective hat hygiene. We were tickled at how Bonnie introduced us each to our tea pot using color and design, tying each padded cozie to its pot with memory joggers as well. This tea room easily mimmicks the places I knew in Hamilton where one was welcomed into a public portion of the home which had been turned over to serving tea to tourists and residents longing for a gentle sit down between shopping and the trip to their own domicile. The lemon curd easily awakened tastes of two varieties of flavorful and authentic scones. Delightfully seasoned creamy Butternut Squash soup almost didn't leave room for the tea sandwiches which followed. Sandwiches were good but could have used a tiny creative touch to lift them to the excellent level of Bonnie's other offerings. Happily we all chatted and enjoyed our way through each treat because our desserts very perfectly capped our tea with a flourish and a smile. My choice was White Chocolate/Raspberry Mousse w/Chocolate Raspberry Sauce. Delicious. I'll be back. Have several dates in mind as my way of celebrating with other friends, some of whom as yet know nothing of the simple joys of 'taking tea'. Front Porch Tea Room, warmed by Bonnie's genuine hospitality, is fortunately located close enough for me to drop in from time to time. Its worth the effort of traveling a bit, certainly much more approachable than the unquestionably more rigid British originals. Bonnie offers a nice blend of 'The Way It Used To Be' unerringly shaped by a delightful twist of 'The Now'. My two teen granddaughters look forward to another visit with Nana one day soon.

Marian
Everything about having high tea at The Front Porch was delightful. The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was lovely. This was a gift to my sisters and sisters in law that I feel good about having given. While we all agreed that the food was great, it is Bonnie's charm that makes this an exceptional experience.
-
Brenda Smith
A delightful experience from the beautiful gardens to the scrumptious full-size dessert. My girlfriend and I were impressed by the plentiful food, each expertly prepared. I had the white chocolate/raspberry mousse with chocolate/raspberry sauce ~ YUM! I hope to return. Both the iced tea and the pots of tea were delicious. With all that was going on, Bonnie still chatted with us and made us feel at home.

I'm not a tea afficionado, so I can't give an accurate description of them, but the iced peach tea and the hot mojito tea were both wonderful! The food was very tasty - the scones with clotted cream and lemon curd melted in your mouth, while the tomato & green bean soup had a nice zing. The crepe for dessert has created monsters out of my sister & I, as we already love Nutella but now have to buy some mascarpone cheese to mix with it!! The decor was formal and Victorian, but the atmosphere was far from stuffy! Bonnie and our server (did not get her name) were delightful and warm. The mismatched china was a nice surprise, as were the pieces sprinkled throughout the flower beds in the garden! The hats were another nice surprise, and one that we could not resist. All in all, it was a delightful experience for all of us. Thanks to Bonnie & her staff!!!
-
Stephanie
Wow! This place is amazing! The atmosphere is great–from the bountiful flowers outside to the unique mismatched china dishes inside. I loved how every guest could choose from a wall full of fun hats to wear. The hot tea that was served was a rooibos mojito. I'm not usually a big fan of rooibos teas, but the rooibos mojito was so good! I raved about the six course meal for days. Incredible food!

Last Saturday was my first visit to the Front Porch Tea Room...for a private bridal shower. The high tea was much more than I expected or imagined. Bonnie was a gracious and warm hostess as she greeted the guests and described each course as it was served. The food was outstanding!!! Everything...hot/cold teas, appetizer, salad, scones, soups, sandwiches & desserts...was absolutely delicious. The tables were set with eloquent china. The rooms decorated beautifully. The ladies enjoyed trying on and wearing hats. After the high tea, we sat out on the patio to open gifts. We also enjoyed strolling around and admiring the gardens. It was a perfect evening and the bridal shower was a huge success and one I'll always remember. Thank you, Bonnie.

We were at the Front Porch last evening for a Mary Kay Cosmetics event...The food was superb..and what made it so fun, was each guest chose a hat to wear to the tea. I choose The Front Porch Tea Room for my wedding reception for 130 people. We put a tent up in the backyard with the gardens surrounding the tent and it was absolutely beautiful! We hardly had to do any decorating because the gardens were so pretty. The staff did a great job taking care of my guests. We used the patio for the dance floor and loved it!! I would defiantly recommend The Front Porch for anyone who is looking for an outdoor reception! You cannot get a more beautiful location and great staff to work with!

All the Girls of our family met to celebrate the birthdays in the months of March and April. We had a wonderful time and everything was served with the style and charm. Bonnie was the perfect hostess and made us feel like we were old friends. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fine tea house.

Bonnie pulls out all the stops at The Front Porch. Her poppy seed dressing is packed with flavor that compliment her salad that makes you want more! The apricot scones with white chocolate were my absolute favorite this visit. They made my mouth water just thinking about them again! And never forget Bonnie's rule for the clotted cream! (ask when you go!) Her soups, desserts, and tea sandwiches are always leaving me raving about how delicious they are and how I wish I could make them myself all the time!! Her yellow peach sweetened iced tea was sooo yummy I think I drank four glasses of it. The roobis mint tea brought me back to my grandmother's kitchen. The decor is charming and the gardens are beautiful. No matter where you live this tea room is worth the travel! You will not be disappointed.

The High Tea was excellent. The salad was especially good. There was plenty of food. The gardens are beautiful. I'm sure the ladies in our group will visit again.

During our Red Hat group visit, a cold peach tea and a hot tea were served. We had a 6 course meal that was wonderful, especially the salad!! Scones and dessert were fabulous. The grounds are just beautiful, and there is a large outdoor seating area under tent, which is also wonderful. We defintely will return.

The food, decor, service, and fine wait staff were beyond expectations. We loved our visit and plan to return soon with friends! We were so impressed that Bonnie came out to greet first timers!

I have been to other tea rooms and none have gotten close to the exceptional experience I've always had at the Front porch Tea Room. My most recent visit on June 3rd 2011 was not exception! Bonnie has always had a wonderful menu and atmosphere to enjoy your get away from the outside world. I've been taking people there for over 10 years and my companions are always amazed at this wonderful place tucked away in rural PA.

Our visit to the Front Porch on June 2, was a memorable event. The teas and each delicious course was explained and served so graciously. The food presentation was lovely, the atmosphere so re3laxing, the flower gardens - beautiful and the choice of spectacular hats add to the fun. It was worth the 2 hour drive. We will be back.

I took my Mother & Aunt her for Mother's Day 2011. We had such a fantastic time. Getting to select and wear the hats was a fun addition to an already great day. We are looking forward to making this a yearly tradition.

We ladies had a lovely time at the Front Porch Tea Room. We enjoyed picking out a hat to match our outfit of the day. Gardens were lovely too but it was raining so we didn't get to walk through them. Overall it was a lovely experience and very victorian.

The food was delicious, especially the salad, strawberry cream soup, and chocolate chambord cake. The staff was engaging and very enjoyable. The decor included lots of pretty and fun things --inside and outside. If we had known sooner that we could request other teas, the whole experience would have been PERFECT. Many thanks for everything!!!

The two teas that were served (no choice) were both fruit teas. The two little sandwiches arrived with no garnishes and both were on bread of similar colors. However, what bothered me the most was that the dinner plate was used both as a charger AND a dinner plate. The salad plate was first placed on top of the dinner plate that had a charger beneath it. The salad plate was removed and we put our scones, jelly etc on the dinner plate. The soup was served next and placed on the dinner plate (and in the unused jelly on my plate). The soup bowl-now with jelly on the bottom- was removed and we put our sandwiches on the dinner plate - again avoiding the jelly. Finally they took the dinner plate away before the cake was served. While I enjoyed my visit there a few years ago, this recent experience was not a great one.

I had tea at The Front Porch Tea Room yesterday, 4/21/11 & it was lovely. My niece & her 2 daughters were with me & we were very impressed by the food & service. The gardens were particularly lovely at this time of the year. The decor has some unusual accents that keep your head turning quite a bit. Do give it a try. I hope to return for another tea, perhaps a dessert tea or a dinner tea.

I loved the portion sizes, six courses is awesome, but too large portions waste our resources or adds to my waist! Delicious

Our 'Tea Time With God' group has visited many tea houses in VA, MD, DC and PA. Yesterday we traveled 3 hrs. for tea at The Front Porch. It was fabulous and well worth the drive! The tea/soup/dessert choices were all so delicious that we shared, so no one missed anything. The scones melted in your mouth. Linda and Bonnie provided delightful hospitality and service. My all time favorite!

I am not a very big fan of tea but for all of the women's birthday's in our family we all came to The Front Porch to celebrate. It was a very fun and comfortable atmosphere! We enjoyed the food and tea immensely, everything was amazing! Bonnie made us feel very welcomed and told us all about each thing we were eating and the type of teas we were having and what was special about them. For a person who doesn't go for tea I throughly enjoyed myself. It was a lot of fun being able to wear hats and take pictures and just be together as a family. I will definitely be going back there with my family again and hopefully be able to take some friends there too!

I have A Gluten intolerance and Bonnie went all out to prepare for me the foods that I could eat. Came home with a few treasures & memories from a wonderful , food ,fun filled tea.(so many wonderful flavors to choose from). My Red Hat group visited the Front Porch February 19, 2011 and we were all extremely pleased. We have visited other tea rooms in the past and The Front Porch not only met, but surpassed our previous experiences. The cuisine and teas were excellent, the service was top notch...warm and friendly, gracious and not intrusive at all while serving our 'goodies'. We were in the front room which was sunny and bright and the decor was very pleasing....loved the gift shop also. Bonnie was so wonderful to work with and extremely accommodating to our needs. It's a definite re-visit for this Red Hat group.

My wife and I are familiar with 'afternoon tea' in England but we didn't know what to expect here and we were very pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable, and was made more so by the excellent and attentive service. The food was delicious, varied, with more courses than we expected for a 'high tea'.We were delighted by the whole experience and came away vowing to return with friends and relatives.
-

Just had had a baby shower there for my daughter and it was a first time having tea for all invited. We loved it!!!!! The atmosphere was great and the food FANTASTIC!Bonnie was wonderful at explaining everything and made it a very pleasant evening. Can't wait until I can go again.

My first trip to a tea room. What a joy. So relaxing, and every course of the High Tea was delicious! Will definitely be back.
-
Ann
What a joy it was to once again enjoy a high tea at the Front Porch. The ambiance is relaxing and beautiful - making one feel as if she is in an English country house. The food is always so delicious as well as artistic - the beautiful chocolate rose dessert. Thank you so much for a delightful afternoon and please publish that cook book!
-
Jennifer
This is the tea room by which all english tea rooms should be measured. I have frequented this establishment many times and have not been disappointed. The food is outstanding, and might I recommend that you get something your NOT typically used to ordering, for the best surprises are to experience something unknown and delicious. I had never had a cold soup before but throughly enjoyed it. It is fun and silly to pick a new hat to try at each course. Any time of year is a good time to visit the Front Porch.

My sister and I went to The Front Porch Tea Room just yesterday, 12/15/10, to celebrate my 50th birthday. We had never been there before, but we will definately return...It was so very nice!! Everything about the meal, and atmosphere and service as well as the items that are for sale were above our expectations. Loved it!!

My last visit to the Front Porch in Oct. was spent with my Mother and 2 of my sisters. We were celebrating, just celebrating each other. It was a wonderful experience. Each and every part of the meal was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the salad and the cold cucumber soup. The tea house is very cozy and you tend to just look around at all the wall hangings and glassware. After we ate we walked around in the backyard enjoying the beautiful fall flowers. I had had the cold pumpkin soup a few yrs ago and loved it so decided to order a couple quarts for take out on Nov 13, as long as the recipe had not changed, Bonnie assured me it hadn't. The spiced homemade croutons were an excellent addition. I've passed the word to my friends at work about the tea house and now they want to come, so guess I'll be back. Thank you for your hospitality Bonnie, at your beautiful Victorian tea house.
-
Judy Riedel
I have been to this tea room several times, however it has been some time since my last visit. The tea room is beautifully decorated and I love the fact that you can choose from a large collection of hats to pick and wear during your tea experience. The food was great, and they kept us supplied with a delicious flavored tea. Choosing from the three deserts was very hard since everyone there was recommending all three. I finally chose the chocolate creme b rule which was fabulous.

THIS WAS MY 3RD VISIT TO THE Front Porch . As before it was a wonderful experince, wonderful food served perfectly. Warm an kind words from Bonnie as if we were just guests in her home. I ve been to other tea rooms but this is the best. My friends and I will be returning next month, can not wait!!!

-

My husband and I visited on Friday evening and it exceeded all my expectations.Very relaxing(lovely music), delicious menu, wonderful friendly service. Our first time to have white chocolate ambrosia and it was wonderful. My husband and I each got a different soup and tried each others- delish. Scones and condiments- delish. Salad dressing- delish. Tastiest mini quiche. Wonderful White Chocolate Mousse dessert-never had mousse so light.
Well worth it.We will definately go back again.

The best tasting tea in a rich, cozy, comforting environment. This is our favorite place to go, for a special occasion and for food and tea that is not your everyday fare.

This tearoom was excellent and offered a welcoming atmosphere, beautifully decorated interior and lovely gardens. A fun, nostalgic atmosphere in keeping with tradition. Highly recommended! Thank for a home away from home!!

I have been to 2 teas at the Front Porch and have always enjoyed them very much. We really like the chilled soups at our house and I bring them home for my husband to enjoy as his treat for babysitting the kids so that I can go to the tea and relax. Looking forward to visiting again on 8/28/10. I hope this tea room is around for many years to come so that I can bring my daughter when she is older.
-
Barbara G. Shenk
This is a 'gem' of all tearooms I have ever eaten at. The total retro Victorian experience was outstanding, relaxing, and most enjoyable! The teas offered were special and the cozied china pot of hot tea on tables offered hot tea as desired in delicate china cups. What a wonderful tea room to visit more than once!
-
Jess
I have been patronizing this tea room for eight years. During that time, I have been to many other in PA & NJ, but The Front Porch is my favorite and I find myself coming back to this one to escape from 'real life' for a few hours. I find a comfortable serenity there. The food is always outstanding, and I am usually stuffed before dessert is even served. The service is cheerful and the ambience is amazing, like stepping back to Victorian Cape May. We love Bonnie and will miss her dearly when she retires. I'm hoping to purchase her cookbook!!!
-

My daughter & I enjoyed our visit. The gardens are beautiful, flowers spectacular. The food & service was excellent. Very pleasant & relaxing. We enjoyed our chat with Bonnie. Would definitely recommend this tearoom. And we LOVED the hats!

We really enjoyed ourselves! Our favorites were the white chocolate peach scones and the chocolate mint(After Seven) tea. Everything was excellent though. We love the food and the portions are extremely large, which is great! We love going through the gift shop because it always has new and beautiful things that are reasonably priced. The garden was also very pretty. Thanks Bonnie for a wonderful breakfast!

In spite of it being a rainy day, our 14 Red Hat Ladies had a wonderful experience at the Front Porch Tearoom. The gardens were lovely even wet and the relaxing warmth inside was just what we needed. Our delicious high tea offered both hot and cold tea, a Roobos and a strawberry and cream, and a choice of hot or cold soup. We were all very pleased with the friendly service and enjoyed talking with both Bonnie and her husband. Thanks for a delightful day, we will be back.
-
Louise Doney
I spent a delightful Sat. afternoon with my Embroiderers Guild celebrating our 20th Anniversary at this delightful Tea Room. The food and tea were wonderful, the staff friendly but the garden was the most unbelievable sight of all! All in all a great experience.
-
Mary
I had such a wonderful experience at your tearoom. One of my friends who has been to many tearooms had told me Front Porch was her favorite, and I can see why. The teas, hot and cold, were delicious and refreshing, the food was superb, the atmosphere was so feminine (it was fun to chose a hat to wear during the tea), and the service was friendly and cheerful. Thank you. I hope to return soon with another group of friends.
-
Les Fern
We've enjoyed many teas in England and this compares favorably with any of those at the hotels in London. Certainly the nicest we've had in PA. The garden is lovely. The interior is exactly what you'd hope a Victorian tea room to be; feminine, floral, fussy and very comfortable. The teas (both hot and iced) were delicious and perfectly prepared. Food and service were wonderful. We're anxious to share this delightful experience with friends. We wish you much continued success.
Very best regards to you. Les Fern

What a wonderful Mother's Day experience. The group was my mother, daughter, sister in law, neice and myself. In our rushed busy lives we do not have much time to sit talk and enjoy each others company. It was so nice to enjoy great food in a beutiful setting place. Thanks for a memorable mothers day....
-

The entire experience at the Front Porch Tea Room was delightful. The gardens are beautiful and a lot of thought and love went into creating them.

I cannot say enough good about this tearoom. I have been to several tea rooms but this is definitely a favorite. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was delicious and plentiful and the staff so attentive and pleasant. Bonnie was very appreciative of our patronage & the gardens are sooo beautiful! Thank you for an absolutely wonderful experience. I can't wait to visit again!

My Mother, sisters, aunts and grandmother LOVE this place. The staff and food and ambience is the best. We have never been disappointed and have visited quite often for bridal showers, baby showers, tea for two and tea for twenty. There is also teas available to purchase, a nice variety of gifts to purchase and beautiful gardens to walk through. Bonnie and her staff are TOPS!
-
Joanna Scott
I enjoyed tea with my Red Hat group yesterday and absolutely LOVED this tea room. It is 30 minutes from my home and I have many tea rooms in my area but the next time I go for tea it will be to this beautiful place!
-
Gwendolyn Richards
This is a wonderful tea room. The service was superb, food wonderful and gardens out of this world. It is truly a treasure place to spend a great afternoon.
-
Vickie Hilton
My daughter Jackie and I had a wonderful time at your beautifully decorated tea room. I wanted to pamper her and let her know how special she is to me, so your lovely place provided the perfect setting! I'm bringing my mom and daughter for Mother's Day so I can show my mom how special she is to me too with an afternoon treat.
-

My first visit to a tea room was a great one. Thank you Front Porch staff for the wonderful experience. I never even knew what a tea room was before. Thanks again!
-
Elaine Baum
What a delightful experience! We had tea with three young girls and they were impressed as well. They especially appreciated the short ediquette lesson we received before we began our first course. The owner/chef was available as well to greet us.
-

I also was a part of the bridal shower for 25. I understand they had a large party before our group but I called a few days ahead to see what time we could start arriving and I was told 3:30 would be fine. Apparently it wasn't fine with the staff working that day. One staff member in particular was very short with many of the guests, from telling them to 'move their bag' to 'who gets the bill'. The food and setting was very nice but unfortunately I will not recommend this tea house because of the 'attitude' we received.
-
Jennifer
Had a wonderful time with family having tea. What a beautiful establishment with a great variety of teas to drink and purchase. Food was excellent!! The salad dressing was to die for, the clotted cream was divine. The deserts were delicious! Can't say enough about the food. The service was wonderful, and Bonnie makes you feel right at home. Will be back again with friends and again with family!!
-
Lois
What a lovely time I had at your establishment! Food was excellent, service great. Mostly a coffee drinker but I thourghly enjoyed the tea. So nice that you have both and caf free one to offer and I was told that if I didn't like what you were serving I could choose a tea from your list of fine teas. So rhoughtful to let me know. Can't wait to return!
-
Rob
I was a guest of a bridal shower party of 25. We all had a great time despite the fact that the service was less then expected. Some of the party did arrive sooner then expected, and perhaps that flustered them? But that frustration was picked up by every member of the party throughout the meal to when we were preparing to leave. I don't believe our party behaved any differently that any other party would of behaved on a joyous occasion, but I sensed they thought we were a 'bother'. Other then that, the food was good, and the room's were nicely decorated.
-
Sherry Salsgiver
Always a wonderful experience. I have been there many times and have been pleased with each visit.

I was anxious to try this tea room on our vacation last summer as we were traveling in the area with our family. We saw Front Porch listed in the top 100 and vowed to try it. I have to say that, while the food was very good, the tea selection was only fair. However, one big point to note is that this tea room is NOT family friendly!! We arrived with our infant daughter and three year old but later realized that they do not allow children under the age of 5 without a private party. We were served, but it was not without some disapproving stares and we would not go back with our children. We later tried Olivia's Tea Room and this establishment was just on par with Front Porch, but it was MUCH more family friendly! There was even things on the menu that my son wanted to eat and they gave him a place setting that was just right for him. We love to introduce culture and new things to our children. Front Porch Tea Room isn't a place for that. If you are an older lady or an adult group, this place might be very nice. But for families, I have to heartily recommend Olivia's! Terrific tea and food like Front Porch, but a LOT more welcoming to families! Also, note that the bathroom is upstairs here, which can be a real problem for people with disabilities.

Ned and Mesha Murrill
My husband and I surprised our daughter for her 22nd birthday with tea at The Front Porch last Saturday. Our experience was wonderful. We loved the fact that they served an Ambrosia fruit salad with toasted coconut - a nice variation from what we've received at other local tea houses. The same can be said about the house salad - loved the textures, colors, and dressing! The loaded baked potato soup, and peppermint mousse inside of a chocolate rose-shaped shell were deelish as well. Bonnie had some high school chums visiting and spent most her time with them, but she was careful to greet her other guests to be certain they were comfortable and enjoying themselves. Besides, we were in the very capable and friendly hands of Linda. We would not hesitate to recommend or visit this tea room again! Thank you for the lovely experience.
-
Mary S.
My friend and I try to go to a different tea room once a month. We thought we try this one for it is rated so high. We were a little disapointed for it is good but not great. We really were not given a choice of teas although they were good. I thought the soup was kind of bland but the scones were great and so was the dessert. There were too many sandwiches with cream cheese for me but they were alright. The host was okay but there was a larger party in the other room and she was a little busy with them.I would not rate this one above a few of the others in the area that we have visited but it is one of the better ones.
-
Debbie Shadle
It was sis & me on this first visit. Food was delicious & service was excellent. Will definitely be back with other family & friends to share the wonderful tea/dining experience.
-
Tammy Welch
My Mother and I attend a Mother's Day tea and Christmas tea every year. Our high tea at the Front Porch Tea Room has become a 7 year tradition. The guests we have included have changed throughout the years, but it has always been Mom and I. I love this picture of her, she looks so cute.
-
Grace Myers
What a great experience! I would recommend 'The Front Porch' to anyone who loves being pampered and waited on. The Service was great, and even greater was the food. It was delicious, and I had a wonderful time with 10 other Ladies that I was friends with for over 40 years. I hope to go there again in the future.

'Many are called, but few are chosen.'
Bonnie, you have definately been chosen! Stepping inside the Front Porch Tearoom took my breath away.
I fully expected to meet the Nutcracker and catch a glimpse of the Sugarplum Fairies dancing by. Instead, it was you who were greeting your guests with a festive aire. Each food course embodied a flavor that went over the top. In fact, by the time dessert came, our tummies were happily imploring, 'Stop, stop, we can take no more.' This visit was a thoroughly enjoyable experience in every way. Thank you for making a delightful deposit into my holiday memory bank.
-
Elizabeth
My husband arranged for my birthday to be celebrated at the Front Porch Tearoom. What a wonderful place! Everything from the tea to all six courses were delightful and delicious. Bonnie has been blessed with such a talent. I highly recommend visiting especially over the holidays as her tearoom is decorated so beautifully. Thanks again Bonnie for making my day so special!

This is a lovely tearoom, very beautiful, cozy and most welcoming, including the pretty gardens. Our Red Hat ladies enjoyed the Cream Tea very much, the poppy seed dressing on the salad was wonderful. Also, the peach cake dessert was yummy and not too filling or sweet. We will certainly make this a favorite for our tea time outings!! Thank you for your gracious hospitality.
-

first time visitors. tryly great experience and service/attention excellent. will be back soon
-
Nancy
This was my first time and the atmosphere was lovely. They were out of a couple of teas that we chose so that was disappointing but we understood. The veggie soup was great and the Ambrosia fruit salad was wonderful. We also felt that there were too many cream cheese sandwiches, even though I loved the Salsa one. Dessert was excellant, I had the Peanut Butter cake. Over all our experience was pleasant and the gardens were just beautiful. Bonnie was a wonderful hostess and her girls did a great job.
-
Erin Butash
I hosted a bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law two weeks ago -- eight of us travelled 600 miles from Canada to celebrate with our Pennsylvania family. It was absolutely worth the trip -- outstanding in every way. I can't say enough about the wonderful experience that our host Bonnie and her staff provided. I hope I can do this again for our other two sons when they decide to tie the knot!!
-
Kim Foulds
Great location for baby and bridal showers or for a girls day out and B-day celebration.

I was at the Front Porch Tearoom for a Bridal Shower. We had a great time trying on the hats and the atmosphere was so beautiful and feminine. The food was delicious and very attractively presented. I am looking forward to another occasion to be there.

Spent a most enjoyable time with my fellow 'Red Hatters' at the 11:00 am tea. The experience was wonderful. We were served both hot and iced tea with unlimited refills. The salad was delicious as well as the soup, scones, tea sandwiches and desserts. The servings were most generous. I would highly recommend The Front Porch to everyone. Come and spend a relaxing and fulfilling time with Bonnie and her staff.

WOW! What a wonderful and pleasant experience! Everything about Front Porch is perfect! Outside seating, gardens, indoor (airconditioned!) beautiful decor of tea items and antiques and pictures of the area in by gone days. Hats galore to wear if you do not have your own! Bonnie is an amazing hostess/owner and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The rooibos and mojito tea was fantastic, the ambrosia fruit salad was like dessert-yummy! The scones and clotted cream were absolutely wonderful. Bluberry soup-are you sure it was not dessert? They even provided sandwhiches for my young niece who is somewhat food picky and she is already asking to go back again! There were so many types and flavors of tea to choose from, I must go back to try some more! Thanks again so much for such a pleasant time.
-
Carol Stigelman
What an absolutely wonderful experience my friends and I had at The Front Porch Tea Room! Not only is the tea room a visual experience (table settings, vintage displays all around) You just can not see everything in one visit! Need I say more about the wonderful 'Hat Gallery' that added so much to the very excellent High Tea we enjoyed. If the tea room wasn't enough....The patio, the gorgeous gardens!!! This place is a step back in time..I am so looking forward to bringing my daughter and 6 grandaughters to a place I know they will remember always....I Know I Will!!! XOXOX

I visited the tea room last year with a bus group. I have since been back twice. Each person (male) thaccompanied me was truly impressed. They had no idea what to expect and was totally blown away by the decor, gardens, friendly service and outstanding food menu. Today my supervisor and I went or high tea and thorought emjoyed the rooibos mojito that we even asked if Bonnie had a to-go cup, It was that good that we couldn't get enougth of it and wanted more. The black cherry chilled soup was sooooo smooth and divine and the toasted almost scones were hevenly. We enjoyed ourselves so much we've made a reservation for the the Italian Night in the Garden, coming up soon. We can't wait to go back. I'll be a regular for a long time to come. Great job, Bonnie.

Having been to many tearooms in southcentral PA, I did not have any expectations except good food and pleasant atmosphere. The Front Porch Tea room certainly provided that. While the decor/table settings were traditinal/formal, we were quite comfortable in our more casual attire and were not bombarded with excess conversation. The food was excellent, I especially enjoyed the cold cherry soup. It was nice to have a light/hardy option in both the soups and the dessert as my friend and I could then taste both. The outside landscape was beautiful - making me wish I lived closer and could come to one of the Thursday evening events. The only thing that could be a negative for some people is the lack of tea variety. There were two choices but both were quite good.
-
Barbara
I went along with a group who I thought would be fun, despite the 'tea party' motif, and I was COMPLETELY won over! I didn't know what to expect, I don't really like hot tea, and I'm a really picky eater, but this place was awesome! The cinnamon vanilla tea was fantastic, the four cheese and creme brulee scones were excellent, the tortellini soup was great and I understand that everything else was enjoyable, as well! The service was very friendly and while the decor was victorian and flowery, it was also comfortable - not stuffy. I am now planning my daughter's next birthday party for this location and we can't wait! I highly recommend The Front Porch Tea Room for a fun afternoon to catch-up with friends and family!!!

Surroundings, food and service outstanding. The gardens are beautiful.
Truly a much needed relaxing evening for my wife and I. Thanks so much Bonnie.

I visited the Front Porch Tea Room a few weeks ago with my mom for mothers day and we had a wonderful experience. The 6 different courses that they offered were above and beyond our expectations. The chilled strawberry soup especially stood out to the two of us. It is not very often you come across chilled soup and after a little hesitation to try it we were blown away with how delicious it was. The service that we got during our visit was top notch. It was nice to be able to relax and feel like our servers truly enjoyed what they were doing. In addition we were pleasantly surprised by the little extras we received with our tea for mothers day like chocolate covered strawberries and a tea themed pin. After our amazing meal we enjoyed looking at all the unique items that were in the gift shop and even buying some! Last we got to walk around outside and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Overall it was a perfect day and my mom and I will definately come back as well as recommend others to come for tea!
-
Joan Manchester
I visited this tearoom with a friend of mine when I was in the area, due to the many great reviews on this site. However, it did not meet my expectations. I am from a tea drinking country where we have great tearooms and this one falls short of the mark.

My two daughters and I were at the Front Porch Tea Room today for our annual 'The Saturday After Mother's Day' tea. We loved every minute of it! The food was just terrific. My girls don't always like to try different foods. They both left feeling completely satisfied. We giggled, laughed and talked, it was a wonderful afternoon. The hats were a great hit too! We'll be back for sure.

I was of the lucky seven who went on the tea tour. I really enjoyed the lovely hats we got to wear. The corrective criticism I would offer is the size of the different courses were too generous. They were all so good you wanted to all of each one but knowing more was to come you just had to make yourself stop so you could have room for next course.

I visited the Front Porch recently with some friends and we had a wonderful time. The food and service are excellent and the ambiance is excellent, as well.

I visited the Front Porch Tea Room with my mother and two sisters as a mothers day tradition. This is our 4th year attending the mothers day tea and i am never disappointed!! Bonnie and her staff are always very warm and welcoming. The food is always fantastic. Bonnie made special foods for me because of an intolerance to wheat, but she wanted to make sure i had the same experience as everyone else! Can't wait till next time!

I've never experienced a high tea before so I have nothing to compare it to. Having been my first experience, I must say that every other high tea in my future would have to be unbelievable since my experience here was totally incredible.I loved everything from the hats we had to pick from, the victorian decor, the ambrosia, salad, scons, soup, finger sandwiches, dessert, items for purchase and last but not least the tea and variety. Bonnie is a wonderful hostess and the backround music was very soothing. I couldn't imagine a better experience anywhere else.

I recently visited the tea room with about 15 women from the office. Everyone had a terrific time, several of us wore hats provided by the Front Porch Tea Room. The food was terrific, I especially like the carrot soup and lemon poppy scones. It was a relaxing, enjoyable evening. Thanks!

I attended the Front Porch tea room with a group of friends over the weekend. This was my very first tea. The decor was beautiful. There is a wide selection of clean hats to try on. The teas were flavorful. The food was heavenly. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We had a wonderful time. To top it all off, the little gift shop offers quite a large selection of items including china cups and saucers, beautiful stationery and a large assortment of teas.

This past weekend, I went to the tea room, with several friends from work, as a weekend adventure. I had not been at the tea room in several years, but remember how much I enjoyed it the first time. I again was not disappointed. The staff was friendly, the food was excellent and the tea was terrific. Already considering booking a time for a family Mother's Day tea. Thanks for a great time and great company!!

A lot of decorative and creative items to explore. Hat selection superb. Dessert is heavenly.

This exceeded my expectations. It was charming, quaint. What a delightful experience. It was 'cozy' with a Victorian flair. Lace, teapot, teacups....what a warm atmosphere. I'd love to go again and see the gardens in bloom.

I was visiting from Wilkes-Barre and went to the Front Porch for high tea with my daughter in law and some of her friends. I enjoyed myself so much. The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed. Bonnie was a great hostess and I don't even know where to begin to describe how much I enjoyed the tea and the food. Everything was delicious and I was so full, but it didn't stop me from eating all of my desert because it was so good! I can't wait to go again.

I took my good friend and my mom to tea for my mom's 77th birthday. What a great time we had. Fabulous food and hostess!

Bonnie and the girls make you feel at home the minute you step in the door. The aroma of wonderful home cooking wafts out of the kitchen. You will NEVER be disappointed with the quality or quantity of any of her offerings. I had breakfast tea there and we had so much I got a to go box and shared it the next morning with my husband. He was impressed! I have had other luncheon teas there and always enjoy each one. Her gift shop is beautiful also. No wonder she is #1 in the area and always will be in my book!

Friends and I from work went in Dec and the decorations were beautiful and the service was excellent as well as the food. We are going back in April for the flowers in bloom!

Fabulous! We just loved the Snowflake Tea! Perfect for a 'chance of snow' day in February. We were thrilled to finally visit The Front Porch, having heard so many nice things about it. These ladies lived up to our expectations, and then some. Delicious from the start, each course was presented with full explanation and in a timely fashion. The poppy seed salad dressing was amazing. The chocolate scones - well, I could smell them coming and they tasted just as good. Yum! A variety of flavors that played sweetly on our tastebuds. We will have to return in the Spring or Summer, when the flowers are in bloom.

What a tearoom!! My girfriend and I visited on 02/18/09 and I must say that this will be a favorite place to have afternoon tea from now on.
Bonnie was a most gracious and fun hostess, the place is beautifully decorated, the food is delicious and gifts galore. Thank you Bonnie for a wonderful High Tea. My first time but won't be the last.

Can not say enough good things about the Front Porch. I am in a tea group that visits a tea room once a month and when it is our birthday we get to choose the one we want to go to and I always go back to the Front Porch for mine. It is by far my favorite. The atmosphere is inviting, the dining area is immmaculate, the food is superb with six courses and you even get a choice of soup and dessert. Love It! Love It!
-
Kathy Stanton
A thoroughly enjoyable and very filling experience. Beautiful place and gifts are wonderful!
-
Joyce Carroll
The overall experience was wonderful. The food was excellent, but I prefer having more than two flavors of tea from which to choose.
-
Pat W
This was my first visit to the Front Porch but will not be my last. I visited with my Red Hat group and found the entire afternoon a delight. The food was wonderful (especially the desserts) and the service was excellent. Everyone was warm and welcoming. All of my Red Hat sisters agreed that we will definitely do this again. Thank you Bonnie for a wonderful afternoon.
-
Lindsay
Front Porch was an excellent tea experience. The 6 course High Tea was deliciously satisfying. Their pumpkin soup was my favorite of all, it was the best soup I've had in a long time. The Victorian atmosphere topped the experience and was very inviting. The ladies who served us were wonderful hosts. I look forward to visiting the Front Porch again soon.
-
Patricia Hartman
Had a lovely evening with friends at The Front Porch and highly recommend this tea room to anyone who enjoys quality dining. Thanks Bonnie!

This is one of the most amazing tea rooms I have been to in PA and NJ! You will escape and lose yourself in the relaxing Victorian atmosphere inside or beautiful gardens outside. Their signature salad dressing is spectacular. Where a hat, or not, you will not leave hungry...you'll be stuffing yourself to savor every tasty bite! The hostesses are very friendly and make your tea experience special!
-
Audry Fryer
My experience at your tea room was one of relaxation and indulgence. Well, maybe over-indulgence, when I recall that I could not finish dessert. From the hats to the Victorian decor to the delicious courses, I had a very enjoyable time. I look forward to returning again sometime soon.
-
Donna Plymire
Very relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was very good starting with fresh orange juice, ambrosia, variety of pastry, egg strata, caramel french toast and of course wonderful tea.
-

I have been coming to the Front Porch Tea Room for over 8 years. My mother in-law brings me every year for my birthday, which is in October. I love the October featured teas. We look forward to coming every year. We can't wait to come back next year. We would never go to another tea room!
-

I would recommend this tea room to everyone. We had great service and wonderful food.If anyone leaves there and they aren't full it isn't the fault of the tea room.It was a totally terrific experiende. Thank you

This is definitely one of the better tea rooms at which I have enjoyed high tea! A friend and I celebrated our birthdays there (a month apart, and she was visiting from out of state right in the middle of our birthdays), and we had such a wonderful time! My boss is a regular at this tea room and recommended it to me, so it was our first time. The food was stellar - I especially loved the chilled cherry soup! We had fun trying on hats when we came in, and the service was superb; we never felt rushed. My only complaints were the scones, which were quite delicious, seemed more like 'soft sugar cookie' texture rather than a traditional scone and a tad on the smallish size, and the tea sandwiches, which were four very small pieces that I understand add up to one whole, but they were so good that I would have loved more! I also loved being able to try both the iced and hot tea; however, we were told that only one variety of hot tea was being served, some type of coconut-flavored tea, which ended up being pretty good, it's just that I'm used to being able to choose from a tea menu at most places I've been to and prefer to order what I like.
That being said, I HIGHLY recommend this tea room (make sure you come hungry!); however, if what you're looking for is a 'true' authentic British high tea, this is not it. I find this to me a more Americanized version; soup and salad are served, and 'real' full desserts (for instance, we were given the choice of carrot cake or a chocolate peanut trifle-like dessert, which were both delicious), with less emphasis on the traditional scone/tea sandwiches/small dessert high tea.
The garden looked especially lovely when we were there, and I wished it wasn't so hot the day we came, as it would have been nice to have tea in the garden! The gift shop and items available for sale are also wonderful, so make sure you take a look around the shop and upstairs. This was definitely worth finding! (from Lancaster, PA)

We came from the Eastern Shore of Maryland (about a 2 and a half hour trip) We kept thinking ' This is certainly a long way to come for tea' but we are so glad we made the trip. our little group of friends have visited several Tea Houses, but this is the best we have seen. The food was delicious and plentiful, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was superb....Thanks Bonnie for a wonderful day

Having tea at The Front Porch is always a wonderful experience. I recently attended tea with The Royal Tea Club and, as usual, it was a lovely event. Bonnie is always welcoming and her staff is cheerful and friendly. The scones at this tea were fabulous, as well as the rest of the tea fare. The Front Porch has always been my #1 favorite!!!
-
Lori Becker
I've been there twice and enjoyed the experience both times. The food was delicious, the teas were wonderful, and the service was very pleasant. I would definitely go back!

I LOVE this tea room. The staff is very friendly and they made my birthday outing with my family such a wonderful and fun experience. I will definitely be back for more.

Crystal Hershey
This was my first high tea experience and The Front Porch delivered a memorable one. The berry iced tea was excellent,as was everything served that day. The Italian vegetable soup, fresh tea sandwiches(I was partial to the chicken salad),warm scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam were all wonderful and the desserts were decadent. The surroundings were both beautiful and serene. We were not hurried, the service was great, and we were certainly not hungry when we left. I would highly recommend The Front Porch and hope to visit again.

Rebecca Sollenberger
I brought my 11-year-old daughter and her friend to celebrate her birthday. They are finicky eaters, but tried everything. They especially loved the dessert and the atmosphere.
-
Sherry Miller
Since I had been to The Front Porch before, I chose this spot to celebrate the 60th birthday of a dear friend with a very special group of friends. We have been to many tearooms as a group, but this one is now at the top of everyone's list! For me, the beverage is secondary to the food in a properly prepared afternoon tea, and The Front Porch delights me every time! My group was absolutely delighted with the tea, the food, the atmosphere, Bonnie's hospitality, the gardens -- a perfect celebration! We will all be back!
-
Linda Dice
I've been here several times. The tea sandwiches, although still tasty, have shrunk markedly in size - and so have the scones, etc.The atmosphere is very nice and the people are friendly.
-

This was my fourth visit to The Front Porch Tea Room and it was as wonderful as the first time I visited. The tearoom is quaint, the food and tea is delicious, and the service is both prompt and friendly. Bonnie, the owner, always takes a few minutes away from the kitchen to visit with her guests. I think this is a nice personal touch. We finished our visit by browsing through the gardens and taking pictures with friends. Overall, the visit was absolutely wonderful! I can't wait to go back.
-
Margaret Ramage
We had a very pleasant time at this tea room. Choosing a hat to wear made the experience memorable. The food was good. The ice tea was delicious but additional choices of hot tea beyond what was already on the table under the tea cozy was served in tea bags with a teapot of warmish water.
-
Linda Shuman
I Loved The Front Porch Tea Room. It was beautiful and we felt very comfortable. The food was wonderful and I was plesantly full. My Sister & Nieces from out of town Enjoyed it & we will be back!! Thanks,

We had the most enoyable time at the bridal shower we attended. Excellent food and service as well as delicious tea's!!! 'Hat's' off for an incredible experience!
-
Mary Decker
What a perfectly delightful experience! Everything was exceptional--atmosphere, gardens, tea service, but especially the food. For the 1st time ever, I left a tea feeling stuffed. I couldn't even finish dessert--a luscious chocolate concoction. No one wanted to leave a crumb of the wonderful food, but we were too full to finish it all. We'll be back!

I have an annual outing for the family reunion weekend to include the Front Porch Tea for the visiting ladies. This year my dearest friend from The Netherlands had the opportunity to experience the best tea house.
-
Tori Leiphart
The atmosphere of The Front Porch was extremely calm and comforting. Our favorite part of the visit was choosing a silly hat to wear during the stay. The staff was very polite and friendly. We were very pleased at our experience at The Front Porch and are anticipating a future visit.
-
Joan Patterson
The Front Porch Tea Room is the best tea room in the state! They hosted my daughter's bridal shower and two years later, the ladies are still talking about The Front Porch. The teas, food, and atmosphere were unsurpassed...the complete package was superb!!

-
Jane Deibler
This was our 5th trip to the Front Porch Tea Room--and I have visited many Tea Rooms over the past 11 yrs--offering a 'Director Tea' party every qtr.to my top Sales personnel. Tea offerings have always been excellent and the food delicious. But it is the atmosphere that takes us back to The Front Porch, which we discovered about 5 yrs ago. You have the 'olde world' charm and the 'English' Tea atmosphere. I highly recommend it!
-
Jane Baker
We visit the Front Porch several times each year because it offers us a wonderful tea party. They always make us feel special.
-
Cindy Hulse
The teas, food, service were excellent. The victorian decorations, music, gift shop and garden all added to a charming way to spend the afternoon. High tea served with 6 courses was absolutely delicious. Other tea houses I've been to I felt like I needed to go eat afterwards...not
true here. What a great, relaxing wonderful afternoon. The owner is a caring creative woman who makes you feel right at home. You start off selecting a hat from her large selection which also adds charm to the High tea. Great afternoon.
-
Pam from CT
I was visiting my parents from Connecticut and they took me there for high tea. It is a lovely place... the gardens are exquisite (I enjoyed them being an avid gardener myself) and the inside was just as lovely. I especially loved the hats you could chose to wear. I felt like a little girl again having tea with my parents. It was a very special evening for me.

4 friends and I spent a delightful 2 hours dining on a delicious variety of items while catching up on the latest news of family and friends.
I recommend The Front Porch Tea Room to anyone who wants to treat herself to delicious food and a relaxing time.
We enjoyed the very pleasant atmosphere and marveled at the decor.

Nine of us traveled approximately 80 miles to sample the fare at the Front Porch Tearoom. It was well worth the trip. What a delightful afternoon we had. We were told not to hurry so we relaxed and enjoyed the whole experience. The atmosphere was enchanting and the teas and food were perfectly prepared and served. I would definitely go back.

I have visited most tea rooms in the area, but my favorite is still The Front Porch. My sister, a friend and myself were there on Thursday this week. We had hot tea and cold tea and the food as always was delicious. The scones were warm and melted in your mouth. Bonnie is a wonderful hostess and we always enjoy the full experience.

I've been to many tea rooms in the York,PA area, where I live. This is the only one I keep coming back to time and time again. Most recently I was there with my daughter for the Mother's Day High Tea. As usual, it was wonderful, with choices of cold and hot teas, ambrosia, salad, finger sandwiches, soup, and dessert. The food is substantial, satisfying and delicious. The Victorian atmosphere is very clean, beautiful and relaxing. The outside gardens are beautiful and I love browsing around upstairs at the gift shop items. If you want to step back in time to a slower more relaxing atmosphere, with great, unhurried service, this is the place to go. I will undoubtedly return again.

Orlena Heiser
I visited the Front Porch Tea Room with my daughter, daughter-in-law,
two granddaughters and several friends. This was the first time for most of us. We had a great time and really enjoyed the food.
The Chocolate Coconut Tea was very good as was the Cherry Blossom Black Tea. Ambrosia was perfect with the toasted coconut and the salad with House dressing was great. I liked the Chilled Strawberries and Cream soup and the ladies who chose Chicken Corn said it was delicious. Sandwiches were very good. I particularly liked the Cucumber with Cream Cheese and lemon pepper on Rye.
Chocolate cake was great and the Lemon Mousse was very good. We will definitly be back. This was the Mother's Day Tea, but I'm sure
the other menus are just as good.

From choosing hats, dining on outstanding fare and admiring the gardens, we had a memorable time. Blessedly we had a camera to take some pictures to add to our memory box:)

I recently took my mother and my sister-in-law here for a special Mother's Day treat. We had a wonderful time. Picking out the hats was a blast and the food was fantastic. Such neat and unique ideas! The staff was so accomidating and cheerful, I truly felt welcomed as if I were in my own home! And lets not forget the beautiful flowers outside. We so enjoyed wallking around and admiring the gorgeous scenery. I am sure to make this a tradition year after year! Thank you to all for such a memorable experience!

Six of us red hatter's went to tea 4-17-08. What a great time we had. The food was soooooooo good. We were offered our chose between two soups, most of use picked the cream of mushroom. It was excelent.
The rest of the tea was just as excelent. We all left very full.
The tea room is an old victorian that has been decorated very nice with hats and clothing of that time. You can pick out a hat to wear if you want. The gift shop upstairs is not to be missed.
-
Julie Druck
I have been to The Front Porch several times and always enjoy it! Bonnie is very friendly and sweet, and the food is always delicious. I'm so glad we have such a lovely tea house to enjoy right in our own little neck of the woods!

I attended a high tea with a group of friends and we had a delightful time. The vanilla cinnamon tea was wonderful as well as the spring time tea. A lovely Roobios blend. The fruit ambrosia was lilght and fresh, the salad was a lovely mixture of greens, mandarin oranges with pine nuts and dried fruits. The savory rosemary and thyme scones and the fruity apricot scones were wonderful with the clotted cream and the strawberry spread. The dainty little sandwiches were quite good as well. Not one of us tasted anything we didn't like and we really enjoyed picking out a hat from the collection on the wall. The garden outside was beautiful and peaceful. Bonnie is such a treat, extremely nice and fun! I highly recommend this tea room to everyone. You will not be disappointed!
-
Debra Wise
I attended a breakfast tea. We were served 2 types of tea, my favorite being the vanilla cinnamon. We were served 2 beautiful plates of muffins, scones etc. We had a delicious fruit salad and hot food as well. The atmosphere was Victorian with trees beautifully decorated with teacups and teapots and a gift shop upstairs. There is lots to look at! The outside landscaping was absolutely beautiful.
It was a wonderful, relaxing and fun experience.
-
Arlene Krasnoff
The Front Porch has a charming decor in a lovely Victorian house. Bonnie, the hostess is effervescent. The food is delicious. The scones were the best that I've tasted. Hats are available so that a whimsical touch can added to the traditional tea. The entire experience was a delight

Dear Front Porch,
This is by far my favorite tea room. My mom and I have gone to several others but we always come back to the Front Porch. I have brought several different groups of people(friends, coworkers, family) and they have all enjoyed their experience. We always have a great time and look forward to return trips.
-

A Valentine's Evening to remember and Bonnie and the staff of the Front Porch Tea Room made it a night of magic for true love. My wife has been to this tea room many times and I've been to Bonnie's incredible Breakfast so why not try one of her event dinners. It was the perfect evening of a quiet get away for just the two of us(even though the place was packed it still felt like we were the only ones). The gourmet meal surpassed the 5 star expensive alternatives in York and of course Bonnie and her staff catered to our every whim. Not one detail was overlooked and again our expectations were exceeded. It is any wonder why The Front Porch Tea Room is number 4 in the state? - In my book they are number ONE.
-
Alan
In need of a unique Valentine to lift our spirits after a grim winter, my wife and I found a perfect answer with a delectable five-course dinner here. The teas were delightful, the service was impeccable and the harp music brought the perfect touch to our 45-year-long continuing romance.

I work in a retirement community, as a Recreation Coordinator so I have been to several local tea rooms, but never to The Front Porch.I went with my girlfriends for our monthly girls day out.The best way to describe my experience is 'WOW'. It was very cozy compared to the other Tea rooms I have visited. Bonnie was such a wonderful host. She reminded us several times to not rush. The food was excellent especially the poppy dressing, and the potato soup.Personally I do not drink alot of tea, but all 3 varieties that we tried were delicious. Another bonus I enjoyed was the 'Sugar Cubes'. I haven't seen them in years. I am so excited to return to The Front Porch, in the spring. I love tulips, and Bonnie told us there are hundreds in bloom. Thank you Bonnie for a wonderful experience!
-
Holly
The Front Porch was my FIRST experience at a tea room and I loved it. I went with my friends for a Girls Day out and it was soo perfect for the occasion. Great food, yummy tea, and Wonderful Hospitality. I've actually convinced my Fiance to go there for Valentine's Day. All I had to do was tell him about the food for that day and he was hooked instantly. Thanks for everything Bonnie!

the front porch came highly recommended from a friend...i have been to other tea rooms before and came away with a 'great food, but service left much to be desired' feeling. i had high expectations because of the referral and was hoping for the best as i was in charge of the destination for our monthly girls' night/day out. let me just say, my expectations were not only reached but blown sky high! from the moment we walked in the door owner Bonnie was at our beck and call!! she promptly greeted us ever so warmly with a bubbly, 'welcome to the front porch ladies!' she instructed us on signing in if we wished, to picking out a hat (and don't dare pick one that matches your outfit she told us, pick something 'different') we fell in love with the front porch and bonnie from the start. we were seated at our cozy table and had our fresh fruit ambrosia ready to taste. we experienced the 2 featured teas for the month of january (snowflake - a coconut vanilla tea and chai tea which i cannot recall the name, sorry, but both were delicious and different than my old standbys drank at home) when bonnie asked which tea we would like to have for the 3rd pot we couldn't decide from the first 2, they were both so good, so she said, perhaps we would liek to try something altogether different. we thought that was a wonderful idea, but no one in our party is deep into tea to name something particular, so we left it to bonnie to find one that would make our tastebuds dance. she brought us a berry tea, which i loved and thought would also be excellent drank cold on a warm day with its wonderful berry notes. the food was fresh fruit ambrosia, salad with a wonderful 'secret-house' poppy seed dressing, cherry-almond and cranberry scones with clotted cream & lemon curd, choice of loaded baked potato or spinach soup, 3 finger sandwiches, choice of dessert (great variety from cakes to bon bons) & all the tea you can drink. what is really impressive is it is all homemade daily, what a wonderful way to fill your tummy while enjoying the company of those you are having tea with. bonnie reminded us a few times not to rush, (2 of us 5 are mothers of 2 children...we devour our food whenever the slightest sliver of time presents itself in anticipation of a child calling us away at any moment, but not that day, oh no, we were at the front porch ; ) at the end of our time there we excused ourselves for an inevitable trip to the 'ladies room' where we were in danger of never wanting to leave for there were lovely things to buy in every nook and cranny. i have to stop, for i could go on and on about the front porch, but i am sure i have just scratched the surface of the charm the front porch holds...a great reason to go back!! one in our party made a reservation before leaving to come back for their gourmet valentine's dinner with her fiance (complete meal with live harp music to boot!!) i look forward to many more visits to the front porch, not just for the tea and food, but also the way bonnie makes you feel like family.

Today was my first 'High Tea' and it was wonderful. We had two teas during the course of the meal. The food was very good. My favorites were the salad with homemade poppy seed dressing and loaded baked potato soup. The baked potato soup is the best that I have had. This experience has opened a new world and is highly recommended.

We visited The Front Porch on 1/19/08. This was my third time there we are going to make this a once a month event. The food and tea is wonderful. I've never tried any other tea rooms. I can't imagine any other tea room being better than this one.
-

Bonnie does a super job making you feel so welcome. I have visited the Front Porch Tea Room 3 times now, and it only gets better! This last time I visited with my mother and we had a wonderful High Tea. I would recommend this to all. My mom was a bit leary when I gave her a gift certificate to this establishment, thinking it would be high society, but her tune completely changed while we were there and she has been telling everyone about our tea. We are going to be bringing more of our family members to visit. Thank you!
-
Lisa and Norma
What a wonderful experience we had at The Front Porch. Bonnie was a most gracious hostess, the decor was so cozy and the food was fabulous. Looking foward to our next visit.

This was our second time to the tea room. This time for my daughter's 7th birthday with her grandmothers. We felt very welcomed and the service was very flexible. My daughter asked for a different tea and she was given one in her own teapot. They made sure we were happy with the food and our whole experience. Of course, the shopping is a delightful experience in itself. Kudos to Bonnie and Linda on a job well done.

The Front Porch takes the cake! Our High Tea experience at The Front Porch far exceeded all expectations. The decor and welcome immediately drew us into a world far removed from our normal lives. The relaxed pace and the attention to the tiniest of details soothed our souls. The service made us feel like royalty. Every lovely morsel set before us delighted the senses. Bonnie, our hostess, further nourished us with tidbits about the general art of tea and her unique tea room. You can be sure we will frequent this gem–a deal, delicious, and delightful!

We had my daughter's bridal shower at the Front Porch Tea Room and I couldn't be more pleased! Then menu was superb with a choice of items for each course. Everyone raved about the cucumber soup, even those hesitatnt to try it. In spite of full stomachs, the chocolate dessert was a huge hit and there wasn't a crumb left on anyone's plate.
After our tea, we went outside and the bride-to-be opened her gifts under the tent and surrounded by purple and pink mums. The gardens were a an unexpected bonus and a riot of late fall color. We ended our shower by giving the guest with the silliest hat a prize.
I highly recommed the Front Porch Tea Room for any special event. It will create unique memories.

My daughter Elizabeth and I are huge fans of The Front Porch Tea Room. On a recent trip to London, we were anxious to see how a 'true' English tea compared to our favorite little tea house in Hallam. There is no comparison. Our costly tea in an expensive hotel lacked the quaint and cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and the personal touch that we have come to expect at The Front Porch Tea Room.

I love going to the Front Porch and so do my red hat 'sisters'. We have our birthday teas at the Front Porch and Bonnie is so accomadating. The food is excellent and you get plenty to eat. I'm anxious to take my granddaughters to their first tea at The Front Porch for their birthdays. I know they will love it too (maybe I can start a birthday tradition?) I'm a queen of a red hat chapter and I get lots of requests to go to The Front Porch.

I have been to the Front Porch many times and each time is a treat. The food is always wonderful. You never can eat all Bonnie gives you. It is nicely decorated, very Victorian, and the gift shop is great. The people who work there are very friendly and always ready to help you in whatever your needs. The gardens are fantastic, they give you a place you can experience quietness. It is nice to sit on the patio and enjoy your tea and the beauty all around you. Each time has been very special. I am always bringing a new group of girls and they all love it and can't wait to come back. Bonnie always has different teas, soups and sandwiches. I can not begin to say what my favorite would be.

This is a delightful place with a beautifully decorated environment, lovely gardens, delicious food, excellent service, and a charming and knowledgeable hostess. The tearoom had been highly recommended by a friend, and it lived up to her recommendation and more.

I have hosted my daughter's Bridal Brunch in 2001 and Baby Shower in 2007 at The Front Porch and both events were just fantastic. Bonnie does such a wonderful job with accomodating your needs and making the event unique to you. The food is consistently wonderful and the atomsphere is superb. The tea room is beautifully decorated and very welcoming. We actually opened gifts on the patio and the gardens are fabulous. I can't compliment this tea room enough or the people who work there. Take time to check out her website to see all the great events that she offers and also to see her menu.

What a wonderful afternoon Tea Party. The atmosphere made us feel so very special.
Our first tea was held at The Front Porch in 2003. (We have not seen each other since graduating from nursing school).Since then we meet on the first Saturday in May at different Tea Rooms. This was our second time at The Front Porch. We loved it just as much this time as the first time.
We were served both hot and iced tea. They even provided coffee for the non-tea drinkers in our party.
Each course was fantastic.
I loved the scones and lemon curd.
Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

We enjoyed a delightful visit to this most unique, cozy Victorian style home. The teas are brimming with scrumptious flavors, and the homemade touch to each of the delicious courses served, allowed for an elegant, tasty meal. The hostess was quite knowledgable and fun loving, as she played along with our group's silly antics.(Lots of laughs!)

This was my second visit to The Front Porch and I love the relaxing atmosphere. All the food was delicious, especially the 'Secret' recipe poppy seed salad dressing. Our group was so looking forward to seeing the many tulips in bloom, but Mother Nature didn't cooperate. Keep up the good work!

this was my second visit to this tea room and the first for a friend - we were both overwhelmed by the quality, quantity and presentation of the food - both servers were attentive, but not intrusive, - we had a great time.
we'll be going back again. one of the other ladies in the group who was there for the first time said she is going to bring her 4-supervisory nurses there for their christmas treat from her - it was a great evening - several teas were presented, but i really enjoyed the africian tea, the flavor was exceptional. the atmosphere was whimsical and with the selection of hats and furs, we laughed and enjoyed - my friend did not know what to expect, i did. i was not disappointed - they surpassed their prior service and congeniality

This is the second time our group of church women have visited The Front Porch Tea Room. We always have a wonderful time. Service, food & tea are great and always make for a fun, relaxing night out with the 'girls'.

I attended my neice's bridal shower. I drove 41/2 hrs from LI,NY. Everything was superb! The decor was exquisite;the food was outstanding-the scones, the salad, the soups, the finger sandwhiches, the deserts-all beyond belief. the service was quiet, friendly, and unobtrusive -allowing the shower to be all that we had hoped it would be. The gift shop also provided us with many victorian items to add to our own ability to have high tea at home. All in all it provided a memorable shower for my neice. I know that when I visit my sister in York,PA it will be the first place I will want to go!

Your tea room came highly recommended to me and I can see why. My group attended the full high tea. The food was outstanding and the serice excellent. It is obvious you put a lot of thought, care and time into your menu. The atmosphere is friendly and your place is tastefully decorated. We had a great time and will definitely be back again.

My husband and I drove over an hour to this lovely tearoom! It was well worth the drive! The owner even accomodated our very last minute reservation made only that morning. The tea was lovely, as well as the service. The teamaid was inconspicuous during our tea, and yet always available should we need something. The food was absolutely delicious! - a very good value for the price. The atomosphere was lovely, and the music very fitting for afternoon tea. We will definitely make the drive again! We highly recommend this tearoom!!

If you want an unhurried customer oriented charming tea - this is the place. The owner and the staff cater to each and every customer. My family and I have been to many of Bonnie's special events and this is a must stop for any of our out of town guest. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner have all been top of the line. Thanks Bonnie, chef and staff for many wonderful memories shared with family and friends at your tea room.

We wanted to treat my mother-in-law visiting from Florida to tea. I called, got the answering machine and left a message. I called the next day requesting a reservation for Saturday at a specific time and asked that I be contacted to confirm. No reply-yes, I did leave my phone number. Needless to say, they must not want customers and I will not be attempting to attend a tea at this establishment.

While I was very impressed by the food selection and generous portions - this tea house is clearly not child friendly. Not even well-behaved child friendly. My seven year old was lectured, loudly by the owner about how if he didn't 'look people in the eye while he was speaking to them' that he would be percieved as 'sneaky.' Needless to say we will not be back.

We had a group gathering at The Front Porch and it was delightful. A country casual setting where we could all relax and enjoy both hot and cold tea and a delightful selection of soups, scones, salad, sandwiches and desserts. I will definitely visit again. I hear April is awesome with thousands of tulips in bloom.

Beautiful Victorian tea room and lovely outside gardens to roam around. The food was plentiful, delicious and attractively presented. This tea room also offers bus trips yearly to other tea rooms. What a unique opportunity to explore the land of tea cups and refined dining. Thank you Bonnie for the many blessings!

My mother recently had my baby shower here. The food was amazing and the service very good as well. The soup, scones and crepes were my favorite. The tea room was very cozy and afterward we enjoyed the patio and garden area where I opened my gifts. I would love to return in the future.

My daughter and I really enjoyed the High Tea served at this tea house. The house is inviting and the service is not rushed. Every course was delicious, especially the southwestern corn soup and crepe for dessert. If you are looking for an outting with family or friends, I would highly recommend spending your afternoon at The Front Porch Tea Room. We most certainly will be back!

I have been to tea several times at various locations and must agree with a previous reviewer, that the portions here are very generous in comparison to others. Everything I've ever had here has been delicious! the only suggestion I have for the owner is to offer more than 2 types of tea. I've always liked what has been offered, but I'd like to be able to pick from a wider selection. This is the only area where I think there is room for improvement.

I have been to the Front Porch Tea Room on a couple of occasions and I absolutely love it! The food is beyond compare, amazingly delicious! Unlike other tea rooms in the area, I left feeling full and satisified. The decor is beautiful and charming. And the gift shop is packed full of (very reasonably priced) 'souvenirs'. I highly recommend the front porch!
