The Front Porch Tea Room
I also was a part of the bridal shower for 25. I understand they had a large party before our group but I called a few days ahead to see what time we could start arriving and I was told 3:30 would be fine. Apparently it wasn't fine with the staff working that day. One staff member in particular was very short with many of the guests, from telling them to 'move their bag' to 'who gets the bill'. The food and setting was very nice but unfortunately I will not recommend this tea house because of the 'attitude' we received.
Tearoom response:
Wen,
I am so sorry that you had a bad experience with my wait staff. I have been trying to find out who could have caused these problems. Please call me so that I can get to the bottom of this problem. I am sorry that I could not be on the floor due to surgery, but I usually get nothing but rave reviews about my staff. I do not know what time you arrived but if we are not totally ready we still let people in and tell them that they can browse in our gift shop until we are set up. I will address the issue of asking to move a bag. When bags are left out on the floor next to the table, we have had several accidents with the wait staff and customers getting a foot caught in the straps of the bag and falling. We had one serious injury because of a pocketbook left out. I would hope that you would understand this issue. As to asking who gets the bill, reservations are made over the phone and we usually do not have a face to connect with that person. I did talk to Kathy to apologize for this problem and she informed me that she thought everyone had a great time and could not stop praising the staff from the service to the girls looking for some tea that someone wanted to purchase. Hopefully you will reconsider and give us another chance.
