The Front Porch Tea Room
I have been to this tea room before and don't remember it being any different than any tea experience that I have had before. Today however was not as good. They offered two tea selections and both were flavored teas of which I do not like. They did offer to make me a different tea of which I picked a plain black tea. It has a funny taste to it so asked for a darjeeling which had a spicy taste similar to the chai tea that was one of their offerings of the day. The salad was really good and the soup was fine. Scones were brought out next and were very good but I didn't care for the sandwich selections. It guess the tea just really set the tone for tea today which wasn't good.
Tearoom response:
Janet,
I am so sorry that this visit was not up to par for you. I understand that you were offered 6 different teas, but we have over 50 in the kitchen. On busy days such as Saturday we always have 3 teas prepared but do not limit anyone from choosing another. I am truly sorry that you did not enjoy our sandwiches this month, but the cucumber with cream cheese and lemon pepper is always offered. The chip beef with horseradish and cream cheese has always been a very big hit and the crab and shrimp salad seems to have hit home with everyone. I truly apologize if you were upset when we had a problem when you request a high chair for the little girl, however we were not aware that she was coming as the reservation was for 4 and we had a full house. We do have an age policy of 5 years old since we try to give everyone a very quit and relaxing experience. We do offer quite a few events that are geared to children and I would hope that you could take advantage of one of these as there is no age limit for these events. Again I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your tea with us and would hope you can return in the future for another tea.

Simpson House Tea Room
One of the worst teas I've ever been to. Soup and salad were good but the tea sandwiches were lacking and we didn't get our normal 3 tiers with desserts being on the top tier. On our top tier was packaged butter, clotted cream, very pale lemon curd but the scone to put it on I would call a cookie. It was the worst scone I've ever tasted. An FYI if you are going to put out a living social coupon don't have an attitude when people use it. Won't be back.

Tea Trolley Catering
What a wonderful tea room experience. My daughters took me to the Tea Trolley at Rees Manor for my birthday in February. I have been to tea rooms all over the US and very much enjoyed my tea time at this establishment. The tea selection was excellent and I have now taken home the house blend and have traded it for my tried and true Darjeeling tea. The service was very good as was the food selection. I loved the presentation of the tiered plates with the scones, sandwiches and sweet treats. I would highly recommend the Tea Trolley to be one of your tea room stops if you haven't already.
