Charlotte's Tea Room is located in historic downtown Warwick, New York... making friends one cup at a time. We offer three themed rooms for dining, gourmet sandwiches and goodies, specialty tea parties, off premises catering, holiday menus, and our signature soups and scones of the day. We have researched recipes from England, Ireland, and our own grandmother's kitchen's to bring you sweets and savories, that will not only please your palate, but will be a delight to your eyes.

A very charming spot in a lovely old house. I really appreciate that the staff is well-dressed, knowledgeable, and friendly. The overall ambiance is cozy and full of unique touches like vintage teaware and tea-inspired artwork. The overall tea menu wasn't quite as comprehensive as I had hoped, but what they did have was good quality and the price of a pot was very reasonable. Unfortunately, the scone was a little drier than expected, but once dipped in the tea it was just fine. I hope to try more of their food menu next time-- I'm sure there will be a next time.

I took my mother's boyfriend here this past Saturday. We had such an amazing time. We sat outside, conversed and enjoyed ourselves. We did not even realize that we had been there for two hours. Time sure flies when you are having a great time. The food was delish and the service was great. We will be back!

Just an amazing restaurant! Scones were warm and fluffy. Tea sandwiches were fresh and unique....not like some tea rooms where they make all food ahead of time or by reservations only. The decor is beautiful! It's a MUST TRY in my book!

Had a shower her for my sister after many years and many super lunches. Just as I had expected, the day was amazing! Charlotte's is more beautiful in person than any of their pictures. Each room is themed with it's own dishes. We were in the Blue Willow Room and the Garden Room. My guests were smitten with the decode, food, and service!
I highly recommend this venue! Thank you Joanne for yet another spectacular day!

My daughter's, Angie & Jessica hosted their sister, Sarah's, wedding shower. They couldn't have picked a more perfect place for her shower.
I wish to thank Charlotte's Tea Room for such a wonderful experience. We were served delicious finger sandwiches, egg salad tarts, delicious cream puffs, fruit, cookies, cheese cakes, and a wonderful 'Wedding Tea' for my daughter's wedding shower.

My mother and I go to this place very often and we loved it so much we thought it would be great to have my baby shower there, after all the expense my mother went through to throw me a shower we heard them talking bad about how 'loud' we were and we made 'a huge mess' well for 2 grand I really wouldn't complain about a mess that we ourselves cleaned up and with 35 people attending a baby shower don't expect us to sit in silence. If that's the case we should have thrown my shower somewhere else. The men who work there are extremely great and we loved them. The woman on the other hand were rude to all of us. My mom and I use to go there all the time and she refuses to go back after that.

Food is overpriced for what it is, cutesy doesn't mean good. Frequently hear horrible things about the owner from people in town and how she berates everyone around her. Including behind the back of all the customers. On a few occassions you could hear her yelling profanities at employees.

I live about an hour away, but plan a visit here every couple of months. I always bring someone new to Charlotte's with me. Yesterday was no exception - my friend Carol is smitten! Our 'Tea for Two' was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. The scones were warm and moist topped off with one of my favorites - heart shaped butter! Desserts was delicious, we had a peach cobbler and the mudslide brownie. YUM! Can't wait till next time - always top of the line.

My friends and I couldn't have found a better venue to meet and celebrate Halloween. The decorations were very much like a haunted mansion - scarey, but tasteful. The food was delicious. My chicken pot pie was hearty, and the apple cranberry scones were not dry as most scones I have had are. Their seasonal tea was Cranberry Autumn. Just the right amount of flavor. All in all a hit!

Warwick has always been the best place in my book to go apple picking in the fall. This year we found Charlotte's and we are so glad we did. It was the perfect way to end our day. The pumpkin scones were fluffy and delicious. All the salads were fresh and the apple dumplings for dessert were unbelievably good. We won't wait till next year to come back.

I was part of a large group and most of us had never had the pleasure of lunching at Charlotte's before. Everything was lovely. We ate in The Garden Room. Glass top garden tables & chairs make you feel as though you are on a southern veranda. Our High Tea was delicious - scones, sandwiches, & a sampling of desserts. Our afternoon was made special by an attentive staff. Truly an experience to be shared.

Thank you so much for another amazing day at Charlotte's! The porch was the perfect way to spend time on a lazy Sunday. Tea for 4 was delicious! The apricot scones were delicious - the tea sandwiches were super & tasted as good as they looked. The bread pudding, and coconut cake were the best we've ever tasted. If you need a little R&R...this is the place. We come here a lot - but never enough.

We had a Bridal Shower here just a few weeks ago. Their attention to every detail was amazing. The rooms are so beautiful decorations were not necessary. Our food was delicious. The chilled berry soup was a big hit! Charlotte's made my party such a success. What a wonderful way to spend a rainy day, then at Charlotte's Tea Room! My spinach quiche was so good, as was my friends trophy wife salad. We chatted for some time & never felt rushed. Last week my boyfriend surprised me with an afternoon trip to Charlotte's. I love all things tea so it was the perfect place. We chose to sit on the front porch set with a beautiful spread of vintage tablecloths. Each part of our meal was better than the last. We started with scones and fresh raspberry curd, next a delightful tea sandwich assortment, and then finished it off with personal pineapple upside cakes. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was so very relaxing and intimate. My boyfriend felt at ease and not at all out of place in this tearoom, it's very male friendly and not intimidating. The entire experience was for sure one to remember! Ladies and gents alike you won't be disappointed!

As someone who prides herself in having a refined sense of taste I can say with the utmost of confidence that Charlotte's does not disappoint on any level.
I and a close friend had lunch at Charlotte's last Sunday, and I was admittedly timid that it could not live up to my high expectations. Fortunately I was proven wrong time and again, first by the beautiful decor and charming waiter ;) and then by the most delicious quiche I have ever had.

We have been going there for years, and will continue to do so for many more! I have read many reviews related to this tea room, & for those who did not leave a positive review, maybe the problems that you had were more related to your personality, and not those of the tea room. I had to run all my local errands today before the weekend when EVERYONE comes to town. What was at the top of list? Chicken Pot Pie at Charlotte's! So delicious, and service was great as usual. Picked up a tin of Cranberry tea for my weekend at home! I guess it's ok to share my favorite place with tons of tourists ; ) I know the staff will always remain sweet and kind, and the food will consistently be deee lish! Have a great weekend!

After 4+ years of frequently enjoying Charlotte's Tea Room with various female friends and family members, I finally got my husband to accompany me! He was immediately impressed with the decor and the warm greeting of our waiter, Guy. Mary, my usual server and all around sweetheart, stopped at our table to meet my husband and spent some time chatting with us. Everyone in the place makes you feel like a valued customer as well as a friend!
When it came time to place our order, my husband left it up to me. I requested the Hot Cinnamon Spice tea knowing he would love it, and I wasn't wrong. He's not really a tea guy but I think I'm going to have to pick up some to make at home now. He kept mentioning how delicious it was! We split the Tea for Two, and at first he was skeptical that it would be enough food, but after all of the delicious sandwiches, Mary's amazing raisin scones, and dessert (he had the lava cake, I had the caramel apple pastry - both came with creamy vanilla ice cream) he was stuffed! That's quite a feat as he is 6'2' and 210 lbs and has a tremendous appetite! He thought everything was absolutely delicious and that the service was perfectly paced and very attentive without being smother-y. I was relieved because I wanted him to like Charlotte's just as much as I do! Now he understands my love of the place, and I don't think I'll have any trouble convincing him to go back with me!

This was our first visit to Warwick, NY, and we know now what a treasure trove this community is!
Charlotte's Tea Room was a lovely excursion for three ladies looking for a genteel, yet casual luncheon. I was accompanied by 2 teenage (16) girls who readied themselves for the event by primping and donning billowy dresses. We were greeted by Joann, the Proprietor, and her son Guy, our server. Although there were several lovely-themed rooms to choose from, we opted for the outside porch setting, taking in the remainder of the summer's warm breezes.
The menu choices were ample and our servings generous. The girls each opted for The Emperer's New Salad, while I chose a Peach Gazpacho and side salad with raspberry vinaigrette. We shared a lovely plate of assorted tea sandwiches, and two full pots of chocolate mint tea. The girls are now converts to tea!!!
We saved room for treats and as teens are want to, they chose the chocolate chip lava cake and glowed with delight with each warm bite. I cherished my slice of strawberry rhubarb pie, with rich fresh ice cream. I could not think of a better way to celebrate the end of another wonderful summer.
Charlotte's Tea Room is a treat! The experience addresses all senses from the charmingly decorated rooms to the classic but light offerings. We were made to feel welcome to linger and enjoy the afternoon and felt truly fortunate to have had the opportunity.
We have already planned our next excursion, which will include Charlotte's, apple picking and and evening at the Drive-in.

I have been a regular customer of Charlotte's for 8 years. Having never written a review before this, today I felt compelled to. The restaurant was 'hoppin' today. Busy, busy, busy. My party was attended to, our food was delicious as always,and came out to our table in a timely fashion. Gotta love Mary. She was charming as usual. What a wonderful place! I'm not quite sure what those with negative reviews are talking about, as my experience at Charlotte's was nothing other than lovely. It was a great choice for a ladies' lunch and 25th birthday celebration. The staff was exceptionally attentive to both food allergies (they welcomed our gluten-free bread) and the 2 year old in our party. The food and tea were delicious, the space was extremely clean and the special occasion was well-worth the trip from New York City. We'll all be sure to suggest this tea room to friends and families.

Visited Charlotte's this week with a friend. We had a delightful time as usual. The weather was gorgeous so we sat on the porch. We spent a couple of hours in a dream-like state listening to the birds and soaking up the charm of Warwick. We feasted on an assortment of sandwiches, all delicious, dessert and, of course, tea (Jasmine this time). The service was prompt and more than courteous - warm and friendly. A nice spot in every way. I Had the pleasure of attending a baby shower last month at this tea room and was thrilled to finally try it. I live in Vernon but pass thru Warwick often but had not made a point to stop in - i just visited again today with 2 girlfriends and we all really liked it - nice setting, sweet wait staff and yes, great tea - i have had tea at The Plaza in Manhattan but left there hungry. Not so here. We had to take a box with 2 scones leftover and lucky me ended up with them - i just had 1 and thought to write this review. Stop in to this place if you are in the area. A nice experience. We agree we will go back soon

What a wonderful place! We happened upon this tea room on a recent visit to family. They live in Goshen and we went to Warwick to shop and eat -- it's a great town for a day trip. I eat far too many meals out for business reasons and the warmth and atmosphere, not to mention the terrific food made this feel like the best home made meal. My sister-in -law had the pannini, and I would order that next time ..I had a great asparagus quiche. I am not a tea drinker, but I could have sat and relaxed on their porch all afternoon. I have to add, I cannot imagine why someone would leave such bad reviews (just looked at a few recent reviews most great but a few not great) I would go back next time we are in the area.

I have not been to Charlotte's since February, and I was reminded today, just how much I have been missing their amazing curried chicken salad tea sandwiches. What a super place, friendly staff, lovely setting, and of course the food. I have been to many other tea rooms, but have to say, this is my all around favorite. It was too hot to sit on the porch today -- we sat in the Library - but I hope to be back again soon and dine alfreco! Thanks to our waitress Mary...we talked about her vintage apron collection...she wears a differnet one everyday. Totally charming.

This is a great place for a nice, peaceful lunch. Very charming. I went with an old friend a few weeks ago and we enjoyed the Tea for Two in front room called the Blue Willow Room...it came served on a pretty tiered stand. Lots of thought in the small details and a good variety. We hope to visit again soon and eat in The Garden Room.

Time after time this delightful restaurant delivers a stellar experience. I had been visiting monthly with a group of girlfriends but we missed the past few months. We went again last week and it was again a delight. My personal fave is the Emperor's Salad. But save room for the mudslide brownies and try their 'vanilla commoro' decaf tea. I have been coming to Charlotte's for years, and have come to regard it as a 'home away from home' of sorts. I am always greeted warmly and treated with neighborly kindness and respect. Living in a small town means that you have to be friendly to one another in order to enjoy the real benefits that come from having your neighbors be your customers as well. Judging by Charlotte's obvious success, they manage to do this and then some. I hope that Charlotte's is around for a very long time to come, because in an increasingly cold and often bitter world, it's such a treasure to find a place that embodies the love and charm of a good friend.

I have been here twice with my daughter. The first time we had a nice tea and sandwiches on a rainy day. We did not have a reservation and this was not a problem. Our waitress was cordial and pleasant. The food was decent and the tea was good. The second time we had tea and lunch, we had two different servers. One was pleasant and warm and the other young lady was a bit more aloof if not seemingly unapproachable. The little pound cake that was served with the tea was dry and the curry chicken salad croissant was okay but the croissant was also a little dry. The atmosphere in Charlotte's is pretty and I liked the tea pot and cups/saucers they used. However, the overall feeling of the place was not hospitable to me. I felt like we should just drink our tea and eat our lunch so we could just pay the bill and get out of everyone's way. I am not sure I would go back which is unfortunate because there are not many tea rooms in the area.

Stopped here on a whim with a friend after a shopping trip! The tea sandwiches were very good (especially the cucumber and curry chicken salad) the scone was also very good! We had my bridal shower there this past Sunday (I was so excited to have it at Charlotte's!) and it was amazing! The tea was wonderful, the service was excellent, and the Tea Room looked adorable with our decorations and theirs...I'm the happiest bride ever!

Each time I visit Charlotte's Tea Room I am greeted warmly by one of the friendly servers, I am attended to attentively during my stay, and I am always treated like family. My mother and I frequently come to Charlotte's for lunch, as it is one of our favorite places. When we go, we are sure to request Amanda; she consistently goes above and beyond in each aspect of our meal. It is obvious that she enjoys spending time with her customers and takes pride in her work. The Tea Room would be a lesser place without her cheer, friendliness, and knowledge of the menu.
Charlotte's Tea Room is a place I will always recommend to friends.

I had both my bridal and baby showers at Charlotte's Tea Room and I don't think the woman below was at the same place. We asked for left overs to go home with us and they were packed up in the room and the men ate them later. No one ever rushed me but I didn't really get to eat either.....because I was busy with my guests. If they waited for me to eat, we all would be there for midnight snacks. Show me a bride who gets to eat peacefully at her shower and wedding and I'd say she was an anomoly!
I hope no one judges the tea room on the review below. I can tell you that I had a wonderful experience with high, but realistic, expectations that were clearly met. The staff worked HARD for us and made everyone feel welcome and important. And both times, Joanne personally checked to see if we were happy with how everything was. That would've been a good time to issue complaints or critique, no? If you were unhappy with things after THAT, then you could place a negative review in writing.

Every time I've been to Charlotte's Tea Room I've had a fantastic time! The staff is terrific, the food amazing (oh, those scones!) and the decor so quaint. I can't think of a better way to spend a leisurely afternoon!
And, if I ever had a problem here, I would speak up while I was there instead of writing a nasty review before discussing problems with the management.
Go and see for yourself, this place is amazing and you won't regret it!

In response to Charlotte's Tea Room owner, I attended the Bridal Shower and agree with the critique of 5/3/12.
I have been to Charlotte's Tea Room on numerous occasions. The service & food were delightful.
Sadly, at the shower we had made very tasteful , simple decorations( no tape or nails)--eg. small ceramic birds & handmade flowers with ribbons.. We were told to put them away??!! Which we did! Oh My!!
The bride & the maid of honor never ate. It would be real easy to see the tower of sandwiches was not touched near them. They could have simply sent home with them??!
We have had other parties@ Tea Rooms in NJ and never been treated so poorly.
Rule # 101 in Business--- THe customer is always right!

I hosted a shower for my sister and was very diappointed in the service. From the moment I arrived on site, no one welcomed me or introduced themselves. I arrived a half an hour early to set up decorations that I made and was told they were unecessary, as the room was already decorated enough. There was a handwritten note on the bathroom door telling my guests of a large bill Charlotte's had to pay to a plumber the day before since someone flushed something down their fragile plumbing. I don't think this is something a bunch of ladies wanted to see on their day out for tea...it was very tacky. Once the guest of honor arrived food was brought out immediately. Not one dish was cleared for the entire scone or tea sandwich service. My guests were literally stacking plates and dirty napkins at the ends of the tables in hopes that they would be cleared, but this obviously is not something our server was interested in doing. We had to ask for ice water to be brought out and our teapots were simply filled with more hot water rather than new tea. Sandwiches that were not eaten were cleared after the lunch service and simply thrown away. Nothing was boxed for the bride to eat, as she was openning gifts for the entire party...so she and the maid of honor ate nothing. I was very disappointed in this sprecial party that I threw for my sister. I thought that by having a shower in a restaurant, my guests would be more comfortable and more attention would be paid to them than by being in my home. I was wrong:( The attention to detail is lacking at Charlotte's Tearoom. The servers should smile a little bit when they are working and at least pretend that they are happy to have customers.

I've driven by this restaurant for a few years now & decided today was the day to have lunch. Boy, I have been missing a wonderful spot! They were busy but our food came out in a timely matter. (Although we didn't care. Could have taken forever since my companion & I were just LUVIN the place.) I can't decide which room is my favorite. We ate in The Library...you know, Miss Scarlet did it it The Library with the candlestick - but the other rooms looked amazing as well. I'll be back soon & I'm sorry I didn't venture in earlier. Stop by. You won't be disappointed.

What a great place! Easy to get to and find. I am so happy my friend suggested Charlotte’s Tea Room for lunch yesterday. The atmosphere, food and service were wonderful. Each themed room is so lovely I couldn’t make up my mind where to enjoy our lunch, in the end I decided to go with the Library Room. What a cozy place. Our waitress was the sweetest and took such great care of us. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable about their teas and menu. The homemade chicken soup was perfect with my sandwiches. The scones were so delicious that I ended up taking a couple home to share with my family in hopes they would like to come with me the next time I visit Charlotte’s. The lemon coconut cake was the perfect clean finish to our lunch. I’m so happy my friend brought me here. I’m looking forward to bringing my daughter and mother here in the next couple of weeks. I plan on experiencing tea in every room and the porch. I can’t wait to go back!

I travel extensively and always make the time to try tea rooms around the country. Charlotte's is one of the best. The decor is tasteful and elegant - with just the right amount of whimsy - loved the 'carrot cake' in the Blue Willow Room. Our lunch was delicious, the tea plentiful, and an attentive and sweet staff.

Thank you everyone at the beautiful Charlotte's Tea Room! We had a wonderful leisurely lunch yesterday. The English Chicken Salad with rice noodles and Asian sesame dressing was delicious (& HUGE!) Our waitress, Mary, was so sweet & kind. She let us peek in each of the uniquely themed rooms & choose where we wanted to sit. She even allowing my friend to change her tea after discovering her 'daring' unknown choice didn't appeal to her. Thank you so much! (My African Rooibos tea with orange overtones was LOVELY!)
Charlotte's owner (Joanne) and staff are always so hospitable and kind. I only know them through the tea house, but they have always been beyond kind to me as a customer. We even had a Bat Mitzvah party catered there several years ago, which involved many personal encounters. In a business that is known for it's high turnover in staff, it tells you something about the owner when you see the same waitresses working for her year after year. Obviously I'm not the only one who thinks she is a nice person!

So, everyone of my family members were in town for Thanksgiving Weekend & we ALL descended upon Charlotte's and what a great time we had! Thank you Mary & Amanda. We arrived with out reservations - tables were moved, plates were shuffled and we all felt right at home. Within minutes my whole family felt right at home. They had a baby shower in progress and still without skipping a beat made all the adjustments for another 12 people...without a reservation! What a great time we had. The butternut squash soup was amazing as was a sampling of the new Holiday Tea. Wow!!!

As a surprise my friends brought me there to celebrate my 50th birthday. I had always wanted to experience a Tea House and was excited when we drove up to Charlotte's Tea Room... I thought the tea and finger sandwich assortment was very good and enjoyabe (a nice vsriety). The Pear salad was fantastic. Greatly enjoyed it. There were seven of us and majority of us were very pleased. With this being said (and I would consider driving an hour to come back to Charlottes) I would like to mention; however, a few things that were disappointing. First,I felt the service wasn't up to par. She didn't clear our plates in a timely manner, didn't offer to explain anything to (the five of) us that were there for the first time, and didn't offer us any additional tea or coffee at the time she took our dessert order. It was only when we were about finish with our desserts did she ask us that question. We did not know that we could have had refills. Also, we had one order of clotted cream & lemon curd and when we ordered more we were told you did not have anymore and it was only 1:00pm. Lastly, my friend who set up the reservations realized, after we left, that they did not put a candle in my dessert in honor of my birthday and she was quite upset about that because she discussed this with them about bringing in her own birthday cake and was told they would charge her an additional $35 to slice and serve (that's ridiculous within itself) but as another option they assured her they would present my dessert with a candle to honor the special occassion so she agreed to that but they forgot to do it. Again, we didn't hate Charlotte's instead we liked it overall but thought if you were concerned of your service, staff and overall trying to strive for complete customer satisfaction you would want to know about these things that were noticeable to your guest.

My group of friends and I have been to many tea rooms. We have always found them to be very accommodating of larger groups. Not so of Charlotte's. The food was good, but not as good as Calico Rose in Hamburg. The staff was rushed and not very friendly. Maybe we just picked the wrong day. Maybe the other reviewers haven't been around much. Next to Disney World, this is my favorite place! My friend and I (both on the downhill slide to our 40's) try to get together here once a month to catch up and enjoy delicious food and the wonderful atmosphere. The entire staff is fantastic, but hands down, Mary, Queen of Scones, is our favorite! They're usually quite busy, but we've never felt rushed or intruded upon when catching up sometimes carries on for quite a while.
My niece, who's turning ten on Sunday, will be starting her birthday celebration blitz at Charlotte's for the third year in a row at her request. We hope to celebrate here for many years to come! She's somewhat shy, but they add always add a special little touch without making her feel umcomfortable.

The themed rooms are beautiful; the feminine garden room, the elegant blue room, and the slightly more masculine library offer something for everyone.
The Tea for Two is the perfect amount of food, with such delicious little tea sandwiches, scones and dessert. Their quiches are also quite tasty, although when I've gone nuts and ordered one in addition to the Tea for Two, my tummy, while quite happy, was filled to bursting!
I cannot say enough good things about Charlottes! Keep up the good work!

They were very busy today and yet made room for us...a party of 5. Thank you Kelsey. Reservations are a good thing, but they did their best to accommodate us. We had a great table, didn't feel rushed, lunch was wonderful. My girls had Wee Teas, my sister and I had the Tea for Two. All sooooo delicious. We celebrated my daughter's piano recital. Our waitress brought out the most amazing Fairy Cupcakes for dessert. They truly were the 'icing on the cupcake'. Thank you for making our celebration so special. We will be back.

I must say that I'm a bit old fashion - I don't correspond with emails or use Facebook, but I simply must review this charming tea room in a manner I am not accustomed to since I had positively one of the MOST wonderful afternoons there today.
To partake in High Tea at Charlotte's is an experience. I have traveled extensively and this establishment is more than a tea room or even a restaurant. It is a respite from our busy lives. Three themed rooms grace this 200 year old elegant home built by a minister. Each room has it's own china - including the porch, which was much too hot to sit today. So my party and I enjoyed the air conditioning and some cool lemonade. The scones were the BEST I have had, the salad crisp and fresh and the pineapple upside down cake better than I make.
Can't say enough good things about Charlotte's. You must try it yourself. I highly recommend this experience.

My friends & I drove from Pennsylvania to try out this tea room. My only regret - I wish it was closer. Their food is very good and nicely presented. My friends had The Queens Tea and I had The Trophy Wife Salad. (How cute is that?) They have a very good selection of teas and other drinks as well. We tried a couple of desserts - the bread pudding is out of this world - and a very delicious carrot cake. Well worth the trip. The town is very nice & has some great shops and antiquing. We were a party of 8. Our teas were delicious - we sampled 8 - and our luncheon superb. A diverse menu, yet still in keeping with the tea room theme. Our server was attentive and sweet.

I visited the tea house for the first time yesterday, for a Bridal Shower. And even though it is 45 minutes from my house, I plan on going back and/or booking any upcoming events here.
From the minute I walked in, the set up was welcoming. I LOVED everything from the blue dishes on the walls to the china on the tables to the milk glass our scones were served in. Our servers were very sweet, and made sure our teapots were always full. Our bride cant eat gluten, and the tea house was accomodating to her dietary needs. Cant wait to go back, i can tell why it's rated number 1!!

My girlfriends and I always celebrate a couple of birthdays together, and this year a new arrival. We usually go to a tea room closer to me, but this year we wanted to try something new. From the moment I walked through the front door, I was smitten.
We were seated in 'The Library'. The decor is charming and comfortable. Our group was large and our food was served quickly and efficiently. I had a cup (actually a huge mug ) of the sweet potato soup and the spinach quiche. Some of my group had salads and their tea sandwiches. The presentation of everything was so beautiful.
I myself will not wait till next year to sample more of their menu.
I've made plans to go back with my mother.

Just enjoyed a cocktail party catered by Charlotte's Tea Room sponsored by The Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce . Can you say wonderful? Still keeping within their their 'niche', I enjoyed their signature curried chicken and olive & cheddar sandwiches, but was pleasantly surprised with shrimp and crab cakes. Not only was everything delicious, but the buffet table was so beautifully presented.

I guess you could call me a foodie...I love restaurants and I REALLY love tea rooms! Charlotte's is the best of both worlds. While some tea rooms are store fronts, Charlotte's is housed in the most AMAZING Victorian house in the most quaint village I have ever been. They have THREE wonderfully themed rooms - each with their own china and ambiance. The menu is diverse and delicious. They are 'THE REAL DEAL'. (Not just open for reservations only...they are there for you whenever you decide , 'I just want to be pampered today.)
What a gem! Thank you for such a wonderful respite!

While the food here is always consistently delicious, I have to admit, lunch at Charlotte's is like tuning into our favorite reality show. Samantha's back from Ireland, Mary's getting married, Hayley's going to college, Lynne moved to California, and they have a Valentine's tree, and chocolate mint tea! There's never a dull moment here, but one thing remains the same: the great food, ambiance, and service. Can't wait to tune in next week!!

This tea room is exactly what the town of Warwick needed to be complete! The tea sandwiches offered are unique and tasty, and the teas are always good. There are many things on the menu that are good. I've tried something different each time I've gone to the tea room and I've never been disappointed. The environment is warm and inviting- I find myself wishing my home was decorated similarly! My Nana and I go to the tea room about once a month and always have a wonderful time. This would be a wonderful setting for a bridal or baby shower.

I've been a fan of the owner's talent's for years - from the days of her whimsical retail store on Main Street, to watching her build and morph into this AMAZING restaurant. The food at Charlotte's is always great and the welcome we receive is always warm. It never matters how busy Joanne is, she finds the time to 'pop out' of the kitchen and greet us .
Thank you for making us feel special. You have created such a wonderful oasis in such a chaotic world. We drive up from Staten Island for this special treat. That speaks volumes.

We escaped the crowds of 20,000 people at applefest and found ourselves @ charlotte's tea room. Despite the chaos outside the company here was calm and catering. While other local resturaunts were running out of food and purveyvors having hissy fits, charlotte's was well prepared with apple scones for everyone and a delightful demeanor. Great job joanne, amanda, guy and mary! Hope you got the rest you deserved after such a busy day! See you soon!

I was seated in a delightful room decorated with superior taste. This elegant tea room, coupled with the exceptionally charismatic server made for a memorable experience. I cannot express the simple joy that comes with a warm scone and warmer smiles from the staff; the simple pleasures in life are beautifully packaged at Charlotte's Tea Room (and they are even available in to-go boxes if you are unable to finish the generous portions!)

I am beyond delighted to have discovered the rare gem that is Charlotte's Tea Room! Having been to other tea rooms in New York, New Jersey, and England, I can say with conviction that Charlotte's meets standards that even the most particular amongst us would be impressed by. The old Victorian mansion that Charlotte's has moved to would suit any tea room beautifully, but I believe the owner must have an extraordinary gift for interior design because the rooms have been crafted with such exquisite taste--it really brings the old house to life in a magical way. The waitress managed to be both vivacious and astutely aware of when to blend into the background: I never felt rushed or in any way impeded upon (I do love to gossip with the girls and hate to feel eavesdropped upon!), but I always felt that every need was met before I had even to speak. The tea selection was divine! I had such trouble choosing, but the menu was wonderfully descriptive which greatly aided my ability to narrow down my choices, and the waitress was happy to suggest choices she felt were suitable for my meal. It is a must to order one of Mary's freshly baked scones--be sure to order it with the clotted cream. The owner imports it from England and it is critical for achieving the ''authentic'' experience. The chef is gifted as well, and having ordered a variety of things that were shared amongst the ladies, I highly recommend the salads, paninis, and the gorgeously presented Tea for Two. After a remarkable experience, I feel refreshed, pampered, and wonderfully full! I will certainly be returning for the best that tea rooms everywhere have to offer.

Love Charlotte's tea room! Wish I had the time to go there once a week. It's less a stuffy tea room and more a legit place where you can bring your husband and get away with not making dinner that night. Gotta love that! This time we had the veggie panini and the english garden salad! So good! We couldn't remember what tea we liked but Miss Mary narrowed it down and nailed with the Chinese Flower. Congratulations again Mary on your engagement! What a lucky guy! And is your bridal shower going to be at the tea room? if so, when? We want to come!

I recently attended a party at Charlotte's Tea Room. The ambiance is beautiful. The tea is wonderful and I enjoyed the lemon tea cake on a previous visit. It is fun to sample all of the different tea sandwiches that Charlotte's offers. I love the scones with the heart butter pats! I was disappointed to be served off a chipped plate at the party. I do not eat off of chipped plates at home and I certainly don't expect to eat off chipped plates when I'm out. Although Charlotte's is all about tea, 'fresh squeezed' lemonade was offered at the party. I make fresh squeezed lemonade often and know what to expect with the color and the taste. The lemonade at Charlotte's was clearly a mix, thus being mediocre. I will stick to tea in the future! I do plan to return, perhaps for tea with my young daughter, as the tea & scones are delicious and the place is adorable.

As a longtime Tea Map subscriber, I've made many wonderful luncheon decisions based on the sage words of patrons and owners found on this site. Having discovered and fallen in love with Charlotte's by these very means, it pains me to see the website delineate into a message board more reminiscent of the 'burn books' of my high school days than of the reliable tool for savvy foodies it once was. Though I can't see how anyone who has ever experienced even one iota of what Charlotte's has to offer could ever find fault with it, I suppose negativity can find a home anywhere. How unfortunate that it has to be one of my favorite websites and directed at my favorite restaurant.
That being said, Charlotte's is an absolute gem. My daughter had her engagement party there just a few weeks ago and everything, from the waitstaff, food and decor down to the tea pots and place settings, was just perfect. What an amazing experience! Looking forward to my next visit in the coming weeks!

I must say that I was totally shocked when I visited this establishment. The decor was very nice but the food sorely lacked flavor and the presentation skills were lacking. The server was 'doing her job' and nothing more I might add. Not particularly warm or engaging. My party was disappointed that this is ranked number one according to this site as we drove quite far to visit. The town had some good shopping however which made us feel better. I think this place is resting on its laurels and needs to revitalize a bit.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I give Charlotte's a 5. It is a nice little tea room but lacks the ambiance of an upscale establishment.
For instance, the food is very basic yet it is good, the teas offered are minimal, and the wait staff is nice but not overly enthusiastic. I didn't feel the server knew their teas and her personality was flat, which made my experience here average.
Despite all this, I would go back again if in the area to give this place another chance. Charlotte's is not on par with the finer tea rooms such as HighSocieTea in Wayne, NJ or the Tea Hive in Fredon/Sussex County, NJ.

Exactly one year after my bridal shower, my family had a baby shower for me at Charlotte's Tea Room. The guests from last year raved about it so much that my family felt it was the obvious choice for this shower too. The ambiance, food and beverages, staff and presentation are top notch. It's the most stress-free, perfectly orchestrated party you could ask for! The staff is delightful and you feel like a princess. And we weren't home for more than 1/2 hour when the men were whipping out the food we home brought with us and LOVING IT!!! Charlotte's Tea Room is TOP NOTCH!

I went to Charlotte's Tea Room for my birthday with my mom and aunt, it was the perfect girls day out. There were pink balloons waiting on the table for me and our waitress gave me a tiara! The Panini was delicious and for dessert I had the Key Lime Pie! I couldn't think of any other way to celebrate my birthday than with the girls at Charlottes! Thanks for making my day extra special!

I visited Charlotte's tearoom with the mother and sister this past weekend. The decor was charming, three rooms each styled differently. The menu had a nice variety, they offered traditional items such as tea sandwiches on cute shaped bread, scones with jam and clotted cream if you like along with some delicious desert items. Salads, panini's, soup and quiche were also on the menu. For non-tea drinkers they offer coffee, hot chocolate, juice, lemonade and sparkling sodas. The presentation of the queen's tea that I ordered was very nice, the prices were reasonable and the service was wonderful. We enjoyed a lovely day at Charlotte’s tearoom and will return again soon.

Another WONDERFUL visit to Charlotte's!! I brought my 11 year old daughter to the tearoom today for a 'girls' day out' and what a special treat it was. As always, the ambiance in Charlotte's just amazed me....what a way to spend a Sunday afternoon, enjoying wonderful food and tea in one of my favorite places ever! Our 'Tea For Two' meal was utterly perfect, as was the delicious Vanilla tea we chose. I'm so happy that my daughter and I decided to stop in at Charlotte's today....can't wait to go back again. It has been my absolute pleasure to have visited Charlotte's Tea Room many, many times. This is a rare and unique experience with a wide variety of teas(and other beverages as well), luscious food - as Asian salad that I am addicted to, many wonderful sandwiches, hot dishes - chicken pot pie to die for - and scones that are lovingly home made every day from scratch by the adorable Mary. Plus, you can't imagine a more lovely setting. Whether you are in one of the three indoor rooms or, during the warm weather, sitting outside on their porch, a visit to Charlotte's Tea Room is a memorable and lovely repast, one you will want to repeat many times, as I have and will! Cheers and thanks to Joanne for spoiling us in so gracious a manner.

Charlotte's Tea Room is the place to eat in Warwick. It is beautifully decorated and is the home of my beloved cucumber and curried chicken sandwiches!! In addition to those tea sandwiches, I have enjoyed the soups and quiches as well as the famous scones. Service is always excellent.

I chose to go to Charlotte's for my birthday because I had seen so many good reviews and expected the best of the best as they reported by Hudson Valley Magazine.
Aside from the beautiful decor and thoughtful balloons on the table I am truly sorry to say that my experience there was sad, .
I had an old roast beef open faced tea sandwich that was tough and inedible placed on a dry piece of 'party bread'( the ones from the deli dept.). Egg salad in a store bought filo cup and a cucumber and 'cheddar' sandwich which would have been so much better without the cheese just with the chive cream cheese spread. I feel compelled to let you know that the curried chicken salad was excellent because I love curry I can only imagine how some one with a more sensative palate might react to such a heavy handed use of the spice. The ham salad was ok. Can't say that about the olive cheese tapenade.
Included with my tea party was a cold cranberry scone with what I thought was lemon curd, but it turned out to be a congealed heart shaped pat of butter (see attached picture).
My tea was weak with only 2 bags in a pot comparatively to large for too little tea.
In my opinion the scones where not made from scratch, and neither was the key lime pie.
Service was unremarkable and long winded, but she smiled a lot.

It's a place I enjoyed very much with my mom who recently passed, so it makes it even more special for us. This is by far my favorite tea room. I have visited it both when it was still in the old location, and in the new place. It is a lovely, charming, and clean establishment. Decor is Victorian-esque, without clutter or stuffiness. The food is truly excellent, even for a vegetarian like me. Tea selection is good. Service is excellent, and always with a smile.

The ambiance is absolutely delightful, the food is delicious (try the turkey and cranberry tea sandwiches) and the tea is magnificent (give the Holiday Tea a shot). I wasn't sure what to expect the first time I went, but I obviously liked it enough to go back :)

I came here today with my sister for her birthday and we LOVED this place! The atmosphere was great- we were in the blue room and there was soft music playing and the table was set up with balloons for my sister. We picked the 'paris' tea and it was delicious. We had the tea for 2 and it was just enough food for the both of us. The sandwich selection was perfect. The pumpernickel bread sandwich was amazing (wish i had the recipe!) and everything else was eaten in no time (with our compliments). Joanne came to our table and we loved how friendly she was. We were thrilled to be invited back to see the kitchen and meet the rest of the staff! Everyone there is so lovely! As always- the dessert was to die for - I had the brownie and she had the peach crumble with ice cream. It was perfect! My sister and I were so relaxed and happy to be there. We'll definitely keep returning back and we highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience afternoon tea.

My sister surprised me with a wonderful tea party for my birthday. I am in LOVE with Charlotte's Tea Room. It was so relaxing and the food was fantastic (and well priced). The best part, was that it was such a nice atmosphere, that we were able to chat with the ladies at the next tables and ended up having even more fun.
Joann is wonderful and really sweet, as are the other ladies running the tea room. They really make you feel like home.

My mom and I stopped in at Charlottes a couple of weeks ago. We go to many tea rooms and were very much looking forward to this experience. We ordered the full tea as well as quiche and soup. To start, we were a little disappointed to find that the tea room uses only harney's teabags. The first pot was quite nice, we selected 'Paris'. However, when we asked for more tea... we were just given more hot water. Needless to say, the second pot was practically hot water as the teabags were not strong enough. The food was pretty tasty and pleasant to the eye. We were slightly disappointed with the soup, as it was not much more than a simple chicken rice, not even creamy. The scone was tasty, but cold. The tea sandwiches were interesting, the curry chicken salad was scrumptious!! Unfortunately, the quiche was soggy and the black forest cake which we ended with screamed that it was store bought. On the other hand, the place is adorable and the service was very friendly.

I absolutely love Charlotte's Tea Room, and I go there whenever I can! To be fair, I'm no tea-room connoisseur, but I love good tea, good food, and a nice restaurant ambiance, and that's what you get here. The experience is relaxing and pleasingly sensual. There are three different rooms to choose from, each with a different atmosphere, and the staff starts your meal out with the slightly whimsical experience of asking you to explore the surroundings and choose where you'd like to be. Fun! The tea menu has short descriptions--I love descriptive menus--so I always find even the selection process delightful. The tea is silk pyramid-bagged Harney & Sons, which in my experience combines the best of loose tea--great quality and room for hydration--with the convenience of bags--whenever you feel your tea is steeped enough, it's easy to remove the bags, and there are no leaves in your cup. Good choice on their part. I've also never had an unsatisfactory bite of anything at Charlotte's. The tea sandwiches are creative and delicious, the scones are just lovely, and the desserts make you feel like you're committing some sin (Turtle brownies win). Finally, as you can see by the universally polite responses to all reviews on this page, the owners and staff are polite and cheerful. Go to Charlotte's! You'll have a lovely time =)

Every aspect of Charlotte's Tea Room brings a new dimension to the art of tea and tea sandwiches. Lynn and Hayley, in the kitchen, create a beautiful presentation no matter what the order is. I personally love scones and tea sandwiches, but the variety of the menu is fit to serve anyone. The food is picture-perfect with tastes to match! The tea variety is outstanding with an amazing staff that is always able to bring over more hot tea if I need it. The waitresses always have smiles on their faces and bring a cheery atmostphere with them throughout the rooms. I have to also speak of the decorating that has been done for the season. For the holidays, Charlotte's has truly become my choice for dining due to the festive decorations that bring me all the way back to my childhood. I heard of this place through a friend and booked my mothers birthday party here this past weekend. My mom was born in England and I thought this would be a fabulous idea for her special day. I invited 10 of my mothers cherished friends as well. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience there. This event by far exceeded my expectations. The staff was courtious, charming and beyond helpful, the tea selection was amazing and delicious and I will admit before this visit I was not a tra drinker! The food was delicious and so tastefully presented (even the butter was shaped like a heart!) from the finger sandwiches to the dessert. They also had personal touches like knowing it was my mom's birthday asked me (and made) her favorite scone that day, giving my mom a 'birthday crown' lighting a candle in her dessert and singing and having baloons on the table...(none of which I asked for or paid and extra for). Once again, Charlotte's tea room was FABULOUS!!! It is the perfect place for a childs' birthday party as well and can hardly wait for my nieces birthday party next weekend! I am so glad to have found one of my new favorite restaurants! Thanks again!!

My daughter and I found this tea room online. We love going to afternoon tea, and have been to tea rooms all over the United States. We absolutely LOVED the village and the tea room. The food was generous and delicious. HOWEVER, to make this an excellent tea room, they must have cloth napkins, sugar cubes intead of packets, and loose tea. We were both shocked to find tea bags floating in our pots!

The new location for this tearoom has brought out the full flair of Charlotte's. There are several themed rooms from which to choose; Harney & Sons tea is served. The food is heavenly, the price fair. But beyond these general expectations of a good tearoom is where Charlotte's really shines. It’s the little thrilling details: the way the theme of the room is carried on in unexpected ways; in the perfect pairing of breads and their contents within with subtle minced fruits and surprising herbed cheeses; the clotted cream direct from Devon; the way a proper tea is served in a “best friend” setting; the little butters cut into hearts; the tiaras that are given out for birthdays, age regardless.
All of the tea room girls here are fantastic. I have had the great fortune, however, to be attended to twice by Megan, the pure embodiment of all that Charlotte’s has to offer.
Charlotte’s is a delightful place that has found the perfect formula to fuse British, Irish, Colonial, and “down home” teas. In these days where our pockets must be watched ever closer, Charlotte’s offers civility, politeness, cheer and good value.

This is a wonderful tea room. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, and the food is wonderful. 'Mary Queen of Scones' makes absolutely the best scones I have ever tasted, particularly the cranberry ones. This tea room is a wonderful and relaxing experience. I highly recommend it.

I just logged in to check your hours and felt the need to comment because...my teenage daughter and I LOVE Charlotte's Tea Room! Having a teenage daughter there's not too much we have in common but Chicken Curry and Cranberry Scones are it for us. But that's not it....we both adore the way these girls dress! They're trend setting yet keep a modest vintage flair. Last time we had lunch we ended up going to the store to get 'jeggings' that my daughter could wear with her 'wellies' Mary was kind enough to tell us her little fashion secrets. And if my daughter starts to wear vintage aprons to school...well, that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world now would it? Thank you girls for keeping it classy, delightful and delicious! And for giving my daughter and I our special time together! And thanks Mary for the lead on the jeggings!!

I loved visiting the new locations and find Charlotte's a really cute and special place to meet friends and family. It creates the feeling of sitting at Grandma's. With that said, I found the waitresses to be a disappointment. While we were there, two teenage girls served the room and neither of them seemed happy about being there. In addition, they were dressed in hooded sweaters with the bellies hanging out. It was the only thing that really did not match the ambiance. Nonetheless, we will be back. :)

I had my daughter's bridal shower at Charlotte's tea room last weekend. I am city-born now living in Warwick but all our friends and relatives came from the City and had such a wonderful time experiencing such a unique setting and wonderful 'tea party'. Joanne is the best. She is patient and she and her girls make you feel so special. My daughter said she couldn't have had a better shower. The food is to die for and the staff goes the extra mile to make everything perfect.Thank you, Joanne and your wonderful staff. I look forward to stopping in again for lunch with my daughter and I highly recommend this extraordinary tea room to anyone who wants a very different and very memorable event. Charlotte's Tea Room is nothing short of divine whimsey combined with the lady-like tradition of afternoon tea. It is my favorite place to go for lunch with my Mom, sister, friends, or just myself. It is a true escape from the craziness of everyday life and the rigidity of adulthood. I feel like a wide-eyed little girl getting to relive the wonderment of a 'grown up' tea party with spirit of the Mad Hatter and the March Hare in every room of the Victorian house that Charlotte's is living in now.
When you go to Charlotte's you will be invited into the little family that works, cooks, dreams , and loves it to life. You will quickly learn the names of everyone who works there, including the owner and maker of the wonderful food and decor, Joanne :) And I can't forget the fabulous Mary, who never is too busy to stop and say Hi no matter how busy they are.
I love Charlotte's...it's a real treasure. Go there for showers, birthdays, lady dates, or for a short escape!

I visited Charlotte's the other day for the first time with my daughter and grand-daughter. We had the nicest afternoon. There wasn't an empty seat in the house! Even though the waitresses were so busy, they took the time to make us feel special, as if we were the only ones in the whole place! We tried the Chilled Summer Berry Soup, I could've licked the bowl, it was delicious! I can't wait to go back to Charlotte's!

What a pleasant surprise we had yesterday at Charlotte's! Expecting a casual lunch with my mom and daughter, we entered into the 'other side of the looking glass' at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party! The front was decorated beautifully for Warwick's Show Me the Door, and the girls all adorably in white pinafores and blue dresses! It was so fun! And the food, as always, scrumptious and the scones, always moist and delicately delicious! We hosted a bridal shower at Charlotte's Tea Room and were so happy we chose this establishment. The room looked beautiful, the service was great, and the food was fantastic. I have been there for a tea for my 4 grandaughters, and many times for celebratory events with friends...but the best was the kindness shown to my mother (90) and myself during a winter visit...Jo Ann made sure my mom was seated by a heater...the girls fussed over my mom like she was a queen. This service is typical of Charlottes tea room....they always go above and beyond to make their guests feel special...I of course will be going back at least once every few weeks...this is the best place around...thanks Joanne and your staff for such a wonderful experience

This is a wonderful place! I have been there several times now and enjoyed myself each and every visit. The carrot cake and key lime pie are great. I only wish they had a little bit more regular menu, as in having carrot cake every time! (I'm a sucker for the stuff!) My dad went with me for my birthday and he sat there, chewing happily, saying 'This is like Anne of Green Gables!' We were both very happy.

My friend and I went to Charlotte's for lunch today and man they were BOOMING! It's so great to see a place doing well, especially now. We didn't mind waiting for our food sipping on Paris tea and sitting in the lovely Blue Willow Room. Plus we loved watching the waitress ever so gracefully prancing around making sure everyone's tea pots were full.They're so cute in their dresses and vintage aprons! The best was seeing one of the waitresses open the door for a group of ladies and give each of them a hug and a kiss! At that moment my friend and I vowed we'd become regulars at this place! The tea for two is a great bargain and those sandwiches are so obviously made with love, and yummy! And the scones! The scones are so good we thought they were dessert, but no! Dessert is included too..i had bread pudding! So good! So we'll be back at Charlotte's again and again until we're part of the 'secret club' and get hugs and kisses at the door! I can't wait to go back!

Yesterday I visited Charlotte's Tea Room and was delighted with the ambiance. The rooms (3 different themed ones) were impeccable. So, I was surprised not to find a selection of loose estate teas. I was served a pot of tea with only one bag in it. Management should note that (correctment if I'm wrong)tea bags, regardless of the maker, are designed for a 6oz cup of water. In addition, I was not provided with a timer for steeping or informed of time remaining. My poor girlfriend poured hers right away and tasted a full cup of water. When I caught the attention of another attendent, she did provide me with an additional bag of tea (problem solved). Shortly after the food arrived much to my pleasure. Very nice presentation the sandwiches well varied and tasteful. The quiche of the day fabulous. On the other hand, the sconces on this day, tasted at least a day or two old. When I politely questioned my waitress if the yellow cream served with our scone was clotted cream she insisted it was Devonshire Clotted Cream without caring to take a look at it, she just continued to clean the table across from mine. Ofcourse, I knew it was not clotted cream as I have practiced the art of tea for the past 4 years. As far as I know Devonshire clotted cream is not yellow, it does not have the scent of butter nor does it taste like butter. I believe the cream was inadvertently omitted. Not a big deal. What was insulting was the waitress's attitude. Thus, leaving my dear friend with a desire for clotted cream on her birthday. Of course, we continued our ritual at my house where I popped open the Devonshire waiting in my fridge. Overall, since these critiques can be easily corrected, I would try again with another waitress since I love the town of Warwick and the atmosphere at Charlotte's was exceptional.

I had been to Charlottes a few times at the old location and loved the curried chicken salad and of course their tea! I brought some friends for lunch at the new location and everyone raved about the scones, sandwiches, and especially the home made desserts. As a special treat I brought my 9 year old daughter to lunch. We discovered the clotted cream and found it irresistable in combiation with the scones! The new location is charming and beautifully appointed. Best of all is the friendly staff. Joanne and her team make everyone feel welcome and pampered. As a birthday treat to ourselves, Bonnie and I made reservations at Charlotte's. The owner, Joanne, surprised us by placing birthday balloons at our table and presented each of us with a tiara (which we wore during the entire meal and were allowed to keep!). We had the lunch for two which consisted of 12 different sandwiches, 2 raisin scones (not dry at all) with heart-shaped pats of butter plus jam, a pot of Earl Grey tea plus dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. And, our server was just lovely. The decor was so sweet -- I especially loved the pink tree decorated with Valentine items. Had been to Charlotte's several times previously and was very impressed with quality of food, service, atmosphere, etc. Not so impressed on my last visit. Our party was seated at a table with barely enough leg room, and with a chandelier dangling close to our heads. Portions of chicken pot pie were small, as were dessert slices of cheesecake. Several of our party left hungry.
On the plus side, the tea sandwiches remain excellent, our server was pleasant and attentive, and the tea room is clean and attractive.

Joanne is the perfect hostess and makes eveyone feel perfectly at home as soon as they walk in the door. the back deck in the summer is one of my favorite places. all of charlotte's rooms are decorated in the most charming and inviting manner. surrounded by whimsical art and presented with delicious food- i can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon. the tea is everything tea should be. hmm... i think a trip to warwick is in order...

Today I took my son and his friend out to tea. We were sat at the sweetest table with a chandelier overhead. For the kids, they offered a wee-tea that consisted of the sweetest sandwiches cut in the shape of hearts, pots of hot chocolate with a bowl of whipped cream on the side and dessert of their choice. My son ordered a brownie that came out so beautifully plated and warm! His friend had ice-cream served in a beautiful bowl as big as her head. They were in heaven. For my lunch, I ordered curry chicken salad on mini croissants which was fabulous! I also had Paris tea served in the most beautiful dishware. Besides the wonderful food and perfect tea room atmosphere, our waiter was lovely(I think her name was Mary). I love this place and can't wait to go back!

I had seen Charlotte's Tea Room advertised in the Romantic Homes magazine that I subscribe to, and made a mental note to visit. I am very glad that I drove the 1 1/2 hours with a friend to do so. We had a fabulous 'Tea for Two' and were not disappointed. The atmosphere, service and food was worth the drive. I am sure that we will be back with additional friends in tow.

I have visited charlottes tea room on several ocassions various times of the year. Each time has been an acceptional experience. The wait staff is highly accomodating. I have brought a variety of friends, family,and colleagues who have had diferent expectations,tastes and appetites. ALL were please and SATISFIED. when you go out you wish an experience of delight, peace, and a moment away rom the every day hustle and bustle. Even while seated in a fully booked Charlotte's I could still hear my companion's conversations over good food with good service. I would not compare to another tea house. That would just remove it's individuality and uniqueness. If your looking for 'a chain' where everything is the same and service an essemblly line then No Charlotte's would not be for you.

I went to Charlotte's Tea Room after apple picking and had worked up a big appetite. My wife dragged me in and I was certainly hesitant. But I was surprised I would eat everything on the menu! We ended up ordering mostly everything, soup, quiche and tea for two which includes scones, 6 different tea sandwiches and dessert(which we had to take home). Overall I left full and I have a new love for Tea Shops. Mary our waitress was friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

Need more variety in food. There are people that like the atmosphere of tea rooms but not gourmet food. Don't forget about the picky eaters! The selection was limited. The servioce was friendly though. The space is a little too small for such a business. Try getting an older house with more rooms and more decorated just like the Tea Hive in Newton! Overall I found this tea room lacking and was very dissatisfied. The moment I opened the menu, my face scrunched up in disgust. So don't go to Charlotte's if you're hungry!

My Razzle Dazzle Damzelles and I of Wash'vl, NY, visited Charlotte's Tea Room in May. What greeted us was pure magic. The ambience was fantasy, and the service impeccable. Joanne welcomed us with warmth and friendliness. Mary, Queen of Scones, our hostess, was wearing an old-fashioned calico apron.... just like Mom's. We were served our own unique pot of tea and delicious scones w/clotted cream. A good time was had by all!!!!
I returned in July with my grand-
daughter, Taylor. We sat outside on the deck entertained by the ducks in the babbling brook below. Even the train made an appearance. Taylor was served a pot of hot cocoa w/whipped cream and heart-shaped finger sandwiches. It was Heavenly and will always be a special memory she shared w/her MiMi.
So, kudos to Joanne and her wonderful staff: Mary, Lynne, and Joanne's daughter, Hayley. Bon Appetit!

This is one of the BEST Tea Rooms I have visited. The selection of teas is extensive, the food, not only is delicious, but so beautifully presented. The decor is fun and oh so charming, as are Joanne, Mary, Lynne ,Stevie, and Samantha.
I have been to Charlotte's on several occasion, and no matter how busy they are, my guests and I are always treated kindly and with great warmth.

Lovely tea room experience! We sought out Charlotte's Tea Room after having 'discovered' it on this Website. We made it a destination whilst travelling home to upstate NY from downstate. We shared a cream tea which was perfect -- two warm scones -- fresh from the oven, clotted cream & jelly, and a generous pot of Harney & Sons tea. Atmosphere is delightful and the staff and owner are gracious and friendly. We are eager to return and bring out tea-loving friends.

I, too, visited this past weekend for my sister's birthday celebration. What a wonderful respite from the cold, rainy day outside. The cozy rooms, hot tea, soups, salads, and tea sandwiches were such a treat. And yes, the delicious Orange Chiffon birthday cake, was light, and a perfect ending for a happy celebration. I went to Charlotte's Tea Room this past weekend to celebrate my sister's birthday. What a sweet and pretty place! The owners were very friendly, funny and engaging and made our special event a wonderful and pampered experience.
As for the food - it was all delicious. Ordered 10 veg soup with scone and an assortment of tea sandwiches. Leaving it up to my server, she picked 6 different tasty treats! My favorite one was - well they are all my favs!
We also had a scrumptious orange chiffon birthday cake accompanied with fresh strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream. We preordered this and it was light and delicious!
I do not live in the area, but I will definitely come back again when I visit my sister.
What a lovely experience! Want to feel pampered? Go to Charlottes!

The first you notice about Charlotte's tea room is how beautifully it's decorated. Lots of great '50s ironwork chairs and glass-topped tables give a feeling of elegance and allow for great presentation of the food.
Service was impeccable and there was a great choice of teas. We took Joanne's recommendation and it was spot on.
The chicken pot pies were delicious and well presented with a good size side salad.
I'm surprised a previous reviewer complained about the sandwiches. I'm English and tea-time sandwiches are supposed to be small. Yet you get SIX which were more than sufficient and all had incredible fillngs --- not the standard watercress and egg or cucumber that some tea-rooms pass off.
Desserts were excellent. Best of all is that although this has the atmosphere of an English tea-room, the cuisine is very innovative as well as tasty.
Mary was an excellent host and service was impeccable and very fast!!
I would say this is the closest experience you're going to get to a real English tea room in the style of the great days of the '30s, '40s and 50s when going out for afternoon tea was the great British pastime.

Charlotte's Tea Room is the more than a resturant to have tea, it's an experience. The moment you walk into the tea room you feel welcome and comfortable. I sat in the Garden Room and was immediately greeted by Mary. I learned later that Mary's nickname is Mary Queen of Scones- well deserved I might add. I ordered the tea sandwiches which were a delight to look at but more enjoyable to eat. I met Lynne in the kitchen, the creator behind the curtain. The tea was hot and abundant. The owner, Joanne, has certainly created a place that goes beyond any tea room that I have ever visited. I will be back again and again.

Charlotte's is worth the trip, a little gem tucked away in a 19th century building, so you are insulated from the street and can even sit on a flowery deck over a stream while you enjoy your tea.
I confess to ordering my favorite tea again and again (Big Red Sun), so I haven't tried all they offer, but the tea itself is served well: steamy fresh and 'bottomless.' The Tea for Two is a bargain with an array of treats from scones to sandwiches. I have taken a group of 20 to Charlotte's (with ample advance notice, of course) for a luncheon, and everyone loved it. Mmm, fresh cranberry scones with clotted cream...

I've never liked scones until I visited Charlotte's. Tempted by the smell of freshly baked scones when I entered, I just had to. And to my delight a scone accompanied my soup. What a warm delight! Fluffy and delicious! I had the basic cranberry scone but do understand 'Mary Queen of Scones' offers many varieties depending on the season anywhere from lavender to sweet potato! I will not be surprised when Charlotte's wins Best Scone of the Hudson Valley, to add to their Best Tea Sandwich award they won this year. Keep up the good work girls!

My 5 year old DD and I had a delightful time at Charlotte's Tea Room yesterday. The two young ladies who waited on us were friendly and attentive, they made us feel right at home, even though one of us was a 'wee' person. My daughter had the 'Wee Tea' and was thrilled with the artful presentation of pb&j tea sandwiches, strawberry hearts and a real teapot and cup for her hot chocolate. I had the soup of the day, the assorted tea sandwiches and the Paris tea blend. The tea was exceptional and I thoroughly enjoyed the soup and sandwiches. We sat in the Mad Hatter room and loved the decor (although my daughter wanted to sit in the 'flower' room, I didn't want to disturb the ladies who were enjoying a quiet tea in there.)
After lunch, we were able to pick up a gift for my mother-in-law in the adjoining gift shop.
What a fun place! We can't wait to go back and try some of the other items on the menu.

Charlotte's was the perfect place to lunch the day after the Saint Patricks Day Parade, we marched all day and stayed in the local B&B that night.After church we anxiously waited for Charlottes to
open.
The tea sandwiches are beautiful bountiful and delicious.
The scones are the best to be found this side of the pond.
One must remember this is a tea shop where time slows as the tea flows.
We thought Mary had made a mistake when we saw how reasonable the check was for our party of six very hungry Irish travelers.

I went there with my sister this summer on a sunday. We were appalled at the size of the sandwich and salad given us. We actually thought it was a joke.
There was less than a half of slice of roast beef on the entire plate of 2 inch sandwiches (4).The salad size was supposed to be a lunch but it came in an appetizer size bowel.Prices were ridiculus for what we got. We left hungry and annoyed that we were ripped off.

The atmosphere at Charlotte's Tea Room in the charming Village of Warwick, NY is tasteful, cheerful and inviting. The wait staff are attentive without being overwhelming. The scones are the best I've ever tasted (please don't my Irish mother in law!). The menu selections provide a terrific variety and the daily specials are aptly named! Charlotte's is truly a fancy experience!!
