Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse
I went to Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse last week with two of my friends and I loved it!! I have been to many tea rooms in the states and I have high expectations. The place is absolutely beautiful inside. We sat at a pretty table in the corner where we sat cross legged, which we thought was cool. Their tea selection is excellent, you can tell every tea is of great quality. I ordered the Lapsang Souchong, which was right on target. Then I ate the homemade cheese and spinach curry, which was delightful. Their menu is really interesting and different. We had such a fun time, thank you!!

Charlotte's Tea Room
My mom and I stopped in at Charlottes a couple of weeks ago. We go to many tea rooms and were very much looking forward to this experience. We ordered the full tea as well as quiche and soup. To start, we were a little disappointed to find that the tea room uses only harney's teabags. The first pot was quite nice, we selected 'Paris'. However, when we asked for more tea... we were just given more hot water. Needless to say, the second pot was practically hot water as the teabags were not strong enough. The food was pretty tasty and pleasant to the eye. We were slightly disappointed with the soup, as it was not much more than a simple chicken rice, not even creamy. The scone was tasty, but cold. The tea sandwiches were interesting, the curry chicken salad was scrumptious!! Unfortunately, the quiche was soggy and the black forest cake which we ended with screamed that it was store bought. On the other hand, the place is adorable and the service was very friendly.
Tearoom response:
Dear S.P.,
I have spent a lot of time and energy on our extensive tea selection. I feel that Harney & Sons Teas compliments my menu best. Had you made your server aware of your displeasure with the second pot, the problem would have been rectified with fresh tea bags. I cook and bake all of my food. The chicken vegetable soup with rice is one of best sellers. Should you come today, you would enjoy our creamy mushroom soup. The scones are baked fresh daily, and are served room temperature, certainly not cold. Again, if you had spoken with your server, we would have 'popped them in the oven' for you . As to my quiche, I make sometimes four a day and am known in some circles as 'The Quiche Master'. I have never had a complaint before. Lastly, I'm not sure whether I should take offense to your last comment or consider it a compliment. I made the black forest cake and take great pains to make it look as professionally done as it does.. .
