Atticus Books & Tea House
We love visiting tea houses in different cities. We have not found very many in our own state of NM but Atticus in Ruidoso was a nice adventure. This is not the elaborate three tiered “English style” afternoon tea experience but if you want quality tea, these ladies have plenty to choose from and they have created a relaxing and fun atmosphere in which to enjoy it. The chocolate cake and the lemon bars were delicious. Can’t wait to go through Ruidoso again to make another stop. Thanks for the great books and the most beautiful glass of iced chai we’ve ever seen. Delicious! Mike and Clarissa Flores Tome, NM

New Mexico Tea Company
The ratings for food and tea prep are NOT poor, they are just 'not applicable' here. That's OK with us. Although we enjoy tea as an experience, finding this quality of tea and knowledge close to home is a great gift in itself. No old tea or tea dust in bags sold here. We highly recommend NM tea company to anyone looking for high quality tea and friendly, knowledgeable service. We'll be back as often as necessary.

Lavender Lounge Tea Company
We visited the San Clemente area a couple of weekends ago and made two separate visits. This is not an elaborate tea room and it is actually rather small. Still, I could have hung out there all day if we would have been able. The tea itself was of high quality and the knowledge and hospitality of the ladies that helped us on both Friday and Saturday was wonderful. Were I the owner, I might be a bit concerned about the inconvenient location and cramped space but if the tea is the main concern, Lavendar Lounge has got it together!!!

Tea House on Los Rios
We are from New Mexico where there are very few tea houses and tearooms to visit. We have made a travel hobby out of visiting tearooms in cities we travel to. This has truly been one of the best. When teamap.com says it's in the top 100, BELIEVE IT!! The only suggestion I would make, perhaps, is to be a little bit more generous with sandwich fillings. Everything else --- keep doing it. You are doing it right. The use of fresh flowers in every way possible is such a great reflection of the owners' love of gardening and of the area you are located in. The hospitality and tranquility of the veranda seating was just beautiful. Thank you!

Tea Leaves and Thyme
Somebody with great tea enthusiasm has done a nice job in running their own tearoom. However, unforturnately, when guests are greeted by a less than enthusiastic hostess and then hear staff members discussing about how difficult a day it's been and how it's only going to get worse, it doesn't make for a nice afternoon tea experience for the guests. The tea itself was good. The price was fair for the afternoon tea food served. I left feeling a bit stressed out instead of relaxed. Beautiful place though.

We had a great visit to the Portland area from NM. But our adventure away from the city was beautifuly enhanced by our visit to La Tea Da. Wonderful tea, food,atmosphere, service and conversation. One of the best tea room gift shops we've seen.

Wow!! If you want great tea and tea experience and knowledge, The Tao of Tea is the place to go. We had a great time during our visit to Portland.

The Tea Zone
My husband and I searched out The Tea Zone on a late 'first Thursday' in Portland. They were very busy... obviously a great place to be. Couldn't stay because it was too crowded but enjoyed the quick visit and hospitality.

Madhatters Tea
This is not a traditional teahouse but more of a cafe. No frills or hand and foot service for sure but the quality of the food and the tea as well as the beautiful surrounding neighborhood are wonderful. Will visit again when in S.A., Tx.

River House Tea Room
What a beautiful place! The pride that goes into the preparation of the food is obvious. The surroundings of the area are much to enjoy as well. Scrumptious breads and tasty soups.
