The Grand Tea Room
My husband and I drove 3 1/2 hours from Los Angeles to visit this tearoom on October 1, 2011. It was their 2nd day open and we were there for the'soft opening'. I grew up in Escondido and was looking forward to a tearoom in my former stomping grounds. This tearoom was FABULOUS!!!! Most EXCELLENT service!!! We both ordered the 'Grand Tea' which consisted of a warm Bluberry Scone (small but still delicious!)with Lemon Curd, Devon Cream, and Jam; Tomato Basil soup with a small piece of garlic bread; Chicken Salad on a small Crossant, Egg Salad on wheat, open face Cucumber sandwich and a crustless Ham Quiche served with red/green grapes, blueberries, and pineapple. For Dessert there was a mini Pumpkin cupcake, mini fruit tart with custard, mini Lemon bar and a mini Chocolate Mouse that was to die for!!! As you can see, there was a TON of food and we were very stuffed!!!! Oh, and endless Pots of TEA!! If I lived closer, I would be there every week! Since 2008, 18 tearooms have closed in Southern California and very few have opened. I enjoyed my tea at The Grand Tearoom and love supporting small business!! It's what keeps this country going!!!!

The Tea Gardens Tea Room & Bakery
With the economy the way it is, most tearooms are going out of business. This is NOT the case for The Tea Gardens! In 3 years, they have expanded their business and have added tons of food and more tea to the menu. The Tea Gardens has an eye for business and is always one step ahead! They do have pretty teacups for you to use if you call and make a reservation for an 'Afternoon Tea' otherwise you are served the most delish tea in a white teacup! I drive 20 miles round trip three days a week for the BEST cup of tea around!!

Two A Tea
I live about 45 miles one way from Two A Tea. I have been coming here for about 2 years off and on when my schedule allows. I was so sad to hear that they were closing because I always look forward to their Christmas Tea. To my suprise, I received a notice from TeaMap letting me know that Two A Tea had re-opened! I quickly made a reservation for their Christmas Tea. When I arrived, I met the new owner, Kristi, who has been working there the last 4 years as the Head Chef. She bought the Tea Room from MaryAnne after she retired from the tea biz. Kristi served me my tea that day and we got to talking. She is a very nice person to get to know. She is probablly the youngest tearoom owner I know, but such a go getter! I admire her for her gumption! I am also greatful that she has continued with the tea room. My tea experience here was so good that I came again right before the new year for the Christmas Tea, again!! Please come and see what I mean, you will be glad you did! P.S. In 2008 there were 8 Tea Rooms that closed in the Southern California Area, I am GLAD that I can now take Two A Tea off that list!!!
Tearoom response:
Dear Kathy,
Thank you so much for your sweet words. I've enjoyed getting to know you and I appreciate all of your helpful advice! Looking forward to hopefully seeing you at the World Tea Expo in May! Thanks again!

Belladonna Gift Boutique and Tea Room
I drive 94 miles round trip for Belladonna's Tea,Scones and other goodies!!! I appreciate that Belladonna's tearoom has been around for 9 Years serving tea with a smile! Donna is the most kind-hearted Godly woman I know. She is the ONLY tearoom that openly shares God's Word and is not ashamed of it! Belladonna's is well worth the drive, I just wish I were closer. So for now I stock up on her yummy scones each time I go!!
Tearoom response:
Dearest Kathy,
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I do love to share about God and His faithfulness. I love the fact that I have the freedom to do so in this great country that we live in. Most of all I thank you for your continued support of my little tea shop and your driving so far to get here. God Bless you and protect you on the highways, Donna

Vintage Tea Leaf
Why do people write such mean reviews? At 34 years old, I was always taught to reconcile a situation with the owner or manager of an establishment. If the owner knew that you were offended, or did not receive the service you expected they would want to rectify this ASAP. Owners do not know that there is something wrong unless YOU let them know. I have been a customer at the Vintage Tea Leaf for 3 years and drive 100 miles round trip to have an awesome cuppa tea! If I have ever had a problem, Beverly has been more than generous in rectifing it. I have never had a bad cup of tea and the food is always excellent! The teacups are antiques and have shared many cups of tea themselves. So they become tea stained. If you believe that one or two is dirty, have the staff wash it. They will be more than happy to do so! Please sign me 'A Tea Lover of The Vintage Tea Leaf'!!!
