Chelsea's on Thornton
Had planned on trying Chelsea's, but hadn't been able to get there because of the distance involved. On a spur of the moment trip that took us by Dalton we decided to stop and see if they were open. We called ahead and found out they were closed for a private party later that day, but since we had taken the time to find them, we were graciously welcomed. There was a variety of food and included some selections that even my husband liked. The ample portions are delicious. You will find a lovely variety of unique items in the gift selection. The decor was beautiful and was accented by the holiday decorations. While this was a historic house, there was good natural light in all seating areas. The highlight was of course the gracious welcome and that carried throughout the entire experience.

The Vineyard Cafe and Gift Shop
You feel welcome from the first because of the staff greetings and attentiveness. Unlike others we visit, they are accomodating to children. Gracious follow up on requests for additional items - condiments. Food is consistently excellent, unique, and generous portions. The only drawback is that you must climb stairs to get there, but it is worth the climb. You also receive a discount in the gift shop if you eat in tea room. The gift shop items are varied and as unique as the tea room selections.

Tea Leaves and Thyme
Step back into an era of old world charm and service in a nostalgic, historic home. Creme brulee and chocolate mint are excellent fresh brewed hot teas. The savory tartlet platter and the salad trio are two of my favorites. The food is always consistant in taste and flavor as well as presentation. The decandent chocolate mint brownie is always a nice birthday treat. Your arrival is anticipated with your reservation name on the board and your table reserved. The wait staff is always efficient, friendly, and interactive. Kim, the owner, is usually nearby to ensure your visit is the best. Suzanne selects a wide range of unique gifts from baby to adulthood with the most discerning buyer in mind. One visit will ensure Tea Leaves and Thyme is a favorite place to dine and relax with friends and/or family.
