Beautiful tea room in a historic home. Includes a little gift shop with teacups, tea, and tea items. I called ahead to discuss vegan options, and the owner went out of her way to make several dishes special for me.

Took my mother for Mother's Day brunch but was a bit disappointed. The prices are very high for simple meals and it was very stuffy inside. We didn't feel welcome, but that everyone was staring at us like we didn't belong.

Normally, I enjoy going to Chelsea's. The food is good (although expensive) and there is a variety. I have taken my 2 granddaughters there before with no problem; however, today we had a problem. The children (ages 2 and 5) were eating when a woman I assumed to be a hostess or perhaps the owner from the way she acted simply announced she was going to sit with us. I tried to chat pleasantly as she talked to the girls and to me, but I kept wondering when she would leave. Was she worried the girls would spill? Did she think they would cause a problem? It was annoying. She got up and left only to return with more fruit for the girls (which was nice), but sat down again! I had no meal with the grandchildren and was exasperated, but how do you tell someone nicely to just leave?! If she thought the girls were going to break something, I wish she had said that. Also, for the first time, my food was not good. I feel I threw money away for an unpleasant experience. I recommend Cottage Treasures in Ringgold, GA. Food is good and they don't sit down and horn in on your meal!

I love Chelsea's. Over the years, I have visited this lovely venue and with this visit I met the newest owner. The food is the most important to me and was absolutely delicious; the cucumber sandiches are different from other tea houses because they are usually marinated! The tiered tray was filled with delicious savories, sweets and scones. This time I had my daughter and 3 1/2 year old granddaughter with me. She had her own miniature teapot and cup and saucer with a choice of lemonade and was served heart shaped sandwiches with a nutella filling. She was delighted with all of it!!!Loved all the matching china pattern and service.Atmosphere was more formal yet not stuffy. Will visit again no doubt!!!!

Had planned on trying Chelsea's, but hadn't been able to get there because of the distance involved. On a spur of the moment trip that took us by Dalton we decided to stop and see if they were open. We called ahead and found out they were closed for a private party later that day, but since we had taken the time to find them, we were graciously welcomed. There was a variety of food and included some selections that even my husband liked. The ample portions are delicious. You will find a lovely variety of unique items in the gift selection. The decor was beautiful and was accented by the holiday decorations. While this was a historic house, there was good natural light in all seating areas. The highlight was of course the gracious welcome and that carried throughout the entire experience.

There is a comfortable atmosphere, pleasant, very attentive staff, choice of boutique upstairs or garden shop out back to visit. There is a picturesque white church with a steeple across the street with chimes and a large porch to relax on to view this. The food was quiche with an enormous pile of fresh fruit and strawberry tea from teabags not syrup. This was accompanied with mini muffins. The prices were reasonable and in line. I would recommend it to a friend.

I was disappointed after taking a large group there. Food was average and decorations were alright. I have eaten at several tea houses and this was amoung my bottom few.

I was visiting from Florida and my mother treated me to Chelsea's....AWESOME...Great Food, Great Service, Great Gift Shop. In additon to a lovely afternoon meal and tea, I found the Crystal Nail Files that I had been searching for at a Great Price...The end to a perfect afternoon. You must go, eat, drink and shop,

While on assignment for DALTON magazine, I fell in love with Chelsea's on Thornton. I can't wait to share the experience with my daughter. It's an experience in Southern hospitality - the food is great, the service excellent... catch my article on this tea room in the March/April 2008 edition of DALTON magazine.

My mother and I 'do' tearooms, and this is one of our favorites. The tea sandwiches are among the heartiest we've had, and the little sweets are wonderful. They are always accommodating to our vegetarianism, and it is a treat to go there.

We have attended the Christmas Tea every year, since it began. Chelsea's is beautiful decorated for Christmas. I have been taking my young friends since they were 6 years old. Tea sandwiches and sweet treats are so delicious but the scones and Devonshire cream are the very best. We always go upstairs to shop after our tea. It is a most special time for the three young ladies and myself each year.Note: The raspberry tea served in the small teapots for children make our day complete.

The atmosphere and décor were spot-on, right down to the British newspaper. The service was acceptable. The quiche was average but I loved the fresh fruit on the side and the tea was very good.

I have a little friend I take each year to the Christmas tea. We have loved it so much for the past 4 years. It is a beautiful memory for both of us.

The chicken salad plate was good, but my guest and I felt very rushed to finish our meal and leave. It was quite obvious that it was almost closing time (we still had 1/2 hour before closing) but we were the only ones left in the establishment. Our waitress seemed almost distressed that my guest was still eating when she came back to collect the plates.
