The Tilted Teacup Tea Room and Boutique
This tea room has great potential -- just has a few quirks to work out, mostly with the service. They haven't been open long, so perhaps they will get the quirks worked out. The staff was inattentive yet friendly and apologetic. The Hawaiian chicken finger sandwich has the potential to set this tea room apart from other tea rooms if they were more generous with the filling. My tiered tray arrived before my tea or even a plate, and I believe more experience is needed in the preparation of the tea or perhaps a better storage of the tea as the flavored black I chose was bland. The ambiance of the place is delightful and I do pray the quirks are worked out quickly and this tea room will thrive.
Tearoom response:
Thank you very much for your review Tonya. We embrace it and continue to learn and make necessary adjustments so that everyone gets a consistent experience and attention. As far as the tea, we do carry a premium loose leaf tea from Metropolitan Tea Company and I assure you they are in proper tin storage units, but that does not constitute or excuse a bland tea. We do pride ourselves in our quality tea and will make adjustments to make sure that the quality embraces every pot of tea. Thank you again for your response and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again. Have a blessed day...

The Windsor Rose English Tea Room
While Twinings makes some good tea, I expect more from a tea room then a tea bag dangling in a pot. As a luncheon place in Mt. Dora, the Windsor is probably a good choice with its menu variety. As a tea experience it was a disappointment. The finger sandwiches lacked enough filling to taste the flavors that had sounded lovely in description, and the grocery store bread had sat out too long. The scone was huge but without any Devonshire cream it was just a dry biscuit. The sweet portion of the tray completed the disappointing experience with some bland pastries and a slice of cake from a box. Our waitress was not attentive and having made our reservations weeks in advance, I would have expected the staff to be welcoming rather then bothered by our arrival. Sadly, as a tea room this place is a disappointment.

Hyde Park Tea Cottage
Looks like a cute tea room. My friend and I have tried on several different occasions to get a reservation to no avail. Living over an hour away we are not willing to travel in hopes of being accommodated as a walk-in. Neither e-mail or calling has brought us a response --not a good first impression but we are still interested in some day having tea at the cottage.
