Tea Rose Garden
The ambiance is nice, but I suggest smaller parties so you wont be cramped. They served iced tea first (without asking), which I found to be odd when I was looking for the hot tea. The teapots were basic...nothing nostalgic about them. The waitress was rather inexperienced. Several times she reached clear across to the other side of the table to refill a cup. The food was ok. The scones were good, but you can tell they weren't baked on site. The cucumber in the sandwiches were translucent, which means they were either old or made a few days in advance. I also was not impressed with edible flower bits on my salad, in my iced tea, and on top of the clotted creme. To top it off, the parking is inconvenient. Tea is supposed to be relaxing, but you walk through the door annoyed after searching for a metered parking space or the entrance to the parking structure. There is a very slim chance I will be returning to this location.

Vintage Tea Leaf
When you walk in, it's like visiting my great-grandmother's house when she was alive....cluttered and full of stuff that you don't necessarily want or need. However, after actually taking a look around, there were some really nice things you may consider buying. After proceeding to the restaurant portion of the building, I was in awe with all the variety of teas available on the wall. I came here with my tea club, and I sadly have to say I was not impressed with the food for the price we paid. Beverly did her best to greet each table, and apologized profusely for the sub-standard service due to schedule conflict of a few large parties. I also feel the need to mention one person in her staff had the audacity to ask me out on a date...he was old enough to be my father. I politely said no, and kept it moving. The best part of my experience was the variety of teas. I fell in love with the Peaches and Cream, and even purchased a few ounces. I truly appreciate the teamaker for taking time to explain to me the proper technique to brewing my expensive tea. I will definitely visit this place to purchase tea in the future (that is if I don't find it elsewhere for a better price), but not to partake in their afternoon tea.
