Elizabeth and Alexander's English Tea Room
This quaint little shop rests quiet and unimposing to one side of 527, easily missed by the hurried, bustling traveler, but ever welcoming to those who stop to notice it. Once inside you are greeted with a cozy warmth, charming decor, and friendly, knowledgable staff. The building is divided into a few small rooms, each one artfully enriched with an authentic English touch. Small tables and cushiony chairs make for a comfortable, intimate experience out with a group or just a pair of loved ones. The food is excellent; salads, sandwiches and teas made quickly and without error. The staff are friendly and always eager to answer any questions you may have (for those of you who are new to the tea room scene), and will suggest teas to try, or even offer to pour you your first cup. When visiting, you MUST try the scones. Best experienced on a cold, rainy day, with a good friend across from you.
