Gourmet Briar Patch Tea Room
I have visited this tea room on several occasions and the food is delicious and well worth the price. I stopped going, because they stopped serving herbal and/or decaffeinated teas. The last time I went for tea...I drank water. One other thing I find highly inappropriate: there is only one waiter/owner. At the cash register, he always asks if I want to include a tip. Awkward, to say the least. They either need a machine that allows the customer to discreetly add a tip, or trust the customer to take care of it in another way. I wouold love to go back under different circumstances.
Tearoom response:
I am sorry about your inability to to have an herbal tea. We deal primarily with a tea estate from India. In an attempt to keep our cost to the customer down we choose to limit our teas to those from Tea plants and/or those that are asked for on a daily basis. We do have decaf coffee. We are small and credit systems are very costly. Ours has been designed for our size and does not afford us an opportunity to process it twice like the big places do. We cannot keep our prices for a Full Tea at $10.50 (including the tax) if we do not try keep our administrative cost down. I hope this helps you understand why we are not like others. Blessings be with you and yours.

Sugarplums & Tea
My friend and I from Virginia searched online and decided on Sugarplums and Tea in the Lancaster area. I have to say that our server, Becky, was very pleasant and accomodating. The presentation was also nice (we couldn't resist purchasing a few cream dispensers). Although I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of my tea, the food was only average. I would love to go back, in hopes of seeing a few positive changes in that area. The black bean soup, bread, and poppyseed scone were very tasty. The grilled cheese, meatballs, chicken salad, tiny BLT, and sweets were average.
