Edith Maes Tea Room and Giftshop
The ambiance in this tearoom is excellent. A great place for grown-ups to have another chance to play 'dress-up'. The historic home is absolutely fantastic and the gift shop has a great selection of Victorian themed items and antiques. The presentation of the meal is excellent, with beautiful antique china and flatware. However, there is too much emphasis on sweets, not enough on the savory. An investment in real whipped cream instead of cool whip would also be a welcome change.

Central Perc European Cafe
This is a nice place to stop for afternoon tea. Tea is only served after 2:00pm-a little late for lunch for us midwesterners, but authentic. The owners are from the U.K. and the offering for afternoon tea is very generous. Great finger sandwiches, excellent pastries with fresh fruit and perfect scones with heaps of strawberry preserves and whipped cream. They will even prepare an afternoon tea for take away if you call in advance. Unfortunately, they are usually terribly busy at teatime and the service can occasionally be spotty. All in all, however a real treat.
