I really enjoyed this tea room. There's a small selection of delicious teas. I recommend the mango black!

This is my favorite tea room. I love the hometown atmosphere and the decor is fantastic as well. The location is also perfect, nestled among the unique shops of old town Tomball. You can depend on the food being consistently fantastic. The chicken salad and tortilla soup are just heavenly. Daily specials such as their enchiladas are always a winner. The salads and quiche are wonderful and I would rate them as 'superior!' The desserts here are heavenly and always served in large portions to share. The manager/owner is always present and is more than happy to accommodate any request given the chance. I highly recommend it and I keep returning time and again!

Have had lunch here a few times, with my daughter-n-law and toddler grandson. Naturally, my attention is on how they accomadate customers with children. Each time they have been very patient with him and even open to seating that is best location for him and so we too can enjoy lunch. We arrive early which helps get us settled before crowd, but we never feel rushed or that he is a nusiance to other customers. Food is always good especially the desserts. Daughter-n-law and I have a great experience and return even with the toddler. Thanks to the staff and owner for their attention to make the time there pleasant, relaxing and enjoyable.
Will return soon for lunch with some girlfriends.

Our visit to the Whistle Stop - A Texas Tea Room in Tomball, Texas on June 1, 2011 began with a 10-15 minute wait, which we did not mind, as it gave my husband and me a chance to chat and then look over the menu.
This was my second visit to the Whistle Stop – A Texas Tea Room and I was bringing my husband there as a treat because a friend had treated me to lunch for my birthday and we had such a nice time.
However, I should have seen the writing on the wall when the table that they gave us was the two-seater by the kitchen. All that separated us from the kitchen was a flimsy cotton curtain!!! I asked if we could please be seated elsewhere, but by their attitude you could tell it was an “inconvenience” to “them” and that others in line would then have to wait, so we stayed where we were seated.
We waited 15 minutes for our passion fruit tea, which had no real taste at all, even if you tried to sweeten it. We finally ordered, and when our order came the waitress asked us who had what and I mean literally THREW the plates down on the table and left our area before the plates hit the surface!!!!!!!! I have NEVER seen ANYTHING like that in my life NOR have I EVER been treated like that, much less in a “so-called” tea room environment!!!
During the meal, do you remember the cotton curtain that is behind me, and then the kitchen after that?? One of the workers dropped an ice tea container lid down the curtain which then went down my back. It just happens that I am disabled, but NOTHING been done about the incident!!! I even joked that I should receive a FREE dessert and received a DIRTY look from our waitress for my pains!!
You may ask: Why didn’t you speak to the manager?? She did not look approachable at all!!!! It was noisy, she probably could not hear me in there anyway, and I am SURE she would have used the excuse that they were extremely busy that day and excused it away!!!
Looking at hindsight, which is ALWAYS 20-20, I probably SHOULD have spoken with her to let her know that the salad was wilted, the quiche inedible and the bread pudding EXTREMELY soggy!
So the next day we ran home to our ALL TIME FAVORITE # 1 Tea Room: The Vintage Garden Tea Room in Montgomery, Texas to remedy the situation where we were treated with RESPECT and DESCENCY!!!

The sandwiches and salads are huge and so fresh! The desserts are to die for and all homemade! You can't believe the coconut cake...or the carrot cake...or the Italian creme cake! The service and staff are really nice. The owner is a very nice lady and personally walked by and checked on everyone.

The atmosphere was nice and cute but the food and tea selection was mediocre. The fruit and lettuce was not fresh so a little disappointing.

This is Tomball's little treasure. Have been enjoying this place with friends for years, and have never had a 'off day'. Every experience is as nice as the one before. Best desserts , in fact, get there early and pick dessert first, as they go fast. Very original treats, not the same as every other place serves on their menus.

I must admit I didn't go to The Whistle Stop for their tea....although the iced raspberry tea was soooo good.....but for the great food I had heard of, and believe me, I wasn't disappointed! We had our Red Hat Society chapter Mother/Daughter/DIL luncheon and Teacup Exchange there, and the owners were so gracious and accommodating...setting us up in our own private dining room. The food was delicious, and their portions overly generous. We will definitely be back!!
