Harney & Sons
After spending nearly an hour in the tasting room, smelling and trying so many different teas, we ate a delicious lunch and shopped in the store. Two of us walked away filled to the brim with good food, great teas, new cups, books and recipes ... along with an impromptu hello from our gracious host, John Harney himself. This was an experience well worth the drive from Long Island and I look forward to going back again soon!!!

Teapot
While the service took a bit of time, our tea was well prepared, the sandwiches were delicious, the scones were better than many places I've had them and the desserts were to die for! Would like to see clotted cream offered with the traditional scones. While I 'get' the soft pink walls and classical music as an ambiance, they both need to be jazzed up a bit. The decor is overly girly and simple, the music too slow and sleepy. On the whole, it was a comfortable experience with good food and I'd recommend it for an afternoon with the ladies.

Silver Tips Tea Room
Silver Tips was such a refreshing welcome on a cold Saturday afternoon. We were greeted by Jackie and the staff the moment we walked in the door. The food was delicious (I cannot get the Mediterranean sandwich out of my head.) The choice of teas made me swoon with pleasure. The dessert was delicious. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. I would move to Tarrytown to make this part of my everyday life.

The Drawing Room
I have never had such dry scones in my life. The 'clotted cream' (from a jar) was sour, I actually had to spit it out. The desserts were mushy. Granted, the sandwiches were halfway decent and the atmosphere was pleasant enough. But all in all, I wouldn't recommend going if you actually know your teas and expect decent food with good service.

I've gone back to Lady Mendl's every year for 4 years now. I've gone with my fiancee. I've gone with my girlfriends. I've gone with my mother. It's elegant, the food is delicious, the service is attentive. Out of 39 tearooms visited so far, this is one of my favorite 2. Will find any excuse to visit here! Worth a trip for any occasion, big or small.
