Dori's Tea Cottage
Staying at Pine Mountain Lake, we visited Groveland, as we always do -- and I couldn't believe my eyes: a tearoom east of Priest Grade! We returned the next day during opening hours (10 to 4). Coming from the San Jose area, I was expecting something similar to Lisa's Tea Treasures. My expectations were exceeded. Personal service by the personable proprietors is one thing that sets Dori's Tea Cottage apart from the chain. The beautiful little garden in the front and the tastefully appointed interior added to the tea experience, which by itself would have been worth climbing Old Priest Grade. The teas, of which the choice is vast, were excellent (we tried English Breakfast, Apricot Green, and a herbal variety by the large pot). The food was wonderful too. We visited a 2nd time on our way back and were as happy (our kids too!)
