Calabash Garden Tea Room
Our apprehension quickly disappeared as we entered the charming cottage. It was apparent that the owners truly were dedicated to making their guests welcome. We sat at a round table set with lovely vintage teacups and hankies(which were used as napkins) and silverware all on an antique tablecloth. Anna explained in detail all the wonderful teas that were offered, which arrived at our table shortly before the delectable salad arrived. Shortly, thereafter, the three tiered tray was brought to us. The bottom tier contained very tasty, different, bite size sandwiches. The next tier was scones which were so tender; definitely made by a woman who knows how scones should taste. Along side, was clotted cream and lemon curd. I don't have to feel badly about not having been able to attend a high tea while in London. Dessert was a delight, also. We truly appreciate the time and effort and labor of love that these women have put in to such a memorable experience for myself and my Mom (who is 85 years old and was thrilled with the experience) as well as the rest of the women I was there with today. We will definitely be back! Sincerely, Donna
