Lovely experience for afternoon tea! Tasty finger foods and amazingly flavorful tea. We received several tea samples to start, which was very nice. I got the "Weekend in Seattle" tea and it had a very prominent juniper flavor that mellowed out as it cooled down. Great place!

Very friendly staff, great selection of teas, recommend coming in hungry if you have reserved their high tea. We went for my birthday and they gave me a nice little candle and congratulations. Certainly planning on coming again.

It is a very small space, but it is full of fun discoveries. The food is great for the money. My husband likes to eat here too.

Have been to this location multiple times over almost a decade. It is very petite, and can become quite crowded, which does dampen the experience a bit.

Fantastic selection of teas, staff seems to know their teas, interesting vintage tea cups are different at each table. High tea is enjoyable, food is always good (with the exception of their shortbread, which is more of a sugar cookie). It is quite clear that items are made in house, which is really nice these days as so many 'tea rooms' serve awful stuff out of a box. They serve a sorbet cleanser which is nice. They change their high tea menu by the season.

Decor is nice, although too cluttered and fru-fru for my taste, it is done well by those standards and they do modify the decor by the seasons.

Mary is often there, all though she looks harried most the time. Have had real difficulty with their staff though. They are often rude, constantly slow with items or paying attention to the tables. I don't know if this is an issue with training or if they don't have enough staff. (I've been going here for 7 years, and the service level has stayed the same).

Because this establishment is popular, reservations are a must. A challenge is often that they can't seat you on time even with reservations (luckily there is a charming toy store next door to occupy the time). Another challenge is that at least half the time I'm here there is a party or event. Since the space is so small, professional photographers can all but be in your lap while they are photographing other clients, and the noise and flashes become distracting.

Certainly worth the visit, but attend during the week if your schedule permits.

I love comming to Queen Mary's! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Mary, the owner has always been there with an irrisistable and gracious charm that makes you feel you have just gained a new and very good friend. The food is excellent; as is the artistry in which it is diplayed. Most certainly this restaurant is well worth the trip from anyplace!

Reservations are reccomended for a very good reason.

The decor and place settings were great. However, the taste of the food selections for the Afternoon Tea left somewhat to be desired. I'm also not too keen on the metal tea pots which get very hot.

They seated us and then when they took our order for tea told us we had to order food. They would've made us leave if we hadn't ordered (minimum $9),plus $5 for each pot of tea.If they had a sign to warn us but they'd already seated us. Rude!

I always love visiting Queen Mary when I'm in Seattle. It is the one 'to do' that is always on my list. This past time we went for breakfast, yum. I had the Strawberry Brie Omelet and Irish Breakfast tea. Great choice. Great atomosphere. Great time.

The only bad thing I can think to say about this place is that it's very expensive.

      That's it.

I love everything else about it, and it is by far my very favorite tea house to visit. I have to come here whenever I visit Seattle.

If you get the afternoon tea, the dec out your tier with so much food you may not be able to finish it, and it is all DELICIOUS, gourmet, and can vary from season to season so it's NEVER boring. They also have a wonderful breakfast and lunch menu, though I've never gotten their early enough to try the breakfast unfortunately.

They have a huge selection of tea, and their seasonal teas are especially divine. They bring it out in a silver pot with the strainer right in it so you can pull it out when it's brewed to your liking.

The place is covered from top to bottom in decor, but I don't think it's tacky at all. It's gorgeous, and the baked goods you see upon entering will make you drool. They also have some adorable tea ware for sale.

In the back, they have a little notebook you can write in and a map to pin where you're from. It's fun to see where some people who have been there are from. I saw people from Africa!

And it might be odd to say, but you have to go in their bathrooms. They actually have things on the real Queen Mary in there, and they're so adorably decorated.

You MUST visit here if you like tea.

Service was excellent; wait staff is very knowledgeable about the teas on 'tap'. Food presentation was superior, comparable in quality to any fine restaurant. A table companion's Smoked Turkey Sandwich entree came with fruit, but not the usual cantaloupe, honeydew and grapes; there were <10> different kinds of fruit, and this was early October [!]. Everyone enjoyed the food [yummy pea-basil soup and a tasty Cornish pastie for me], the ambiance, and the decor. Every one of us in our party commented on how delicious their meal was. We'll definitely be back!

A wonderful place to go. One of the finest tea rooms I've been to, with a large selection of teas, from which to chose, as well as waitresses coming to our table to offer small glass cups to sample other teas, which we didn't order.

I have very high standards as to what I expect from a 'Good' tea room, and they exceeded my expectations. Congrats and thank you for the experience!

My husband and I had the Formal Afternoon Tea here this afternoon. It is a delightful place with cozy ambiance. The service was attentive but not hovering. The tea service and choice was excellent. I liked the individual metal tea pots with a very usable tea strainer. The sandwiches were very good, and there was plenty of food. We prefer a traditional scone rather than theirs. Also, they serve whipped cream instead of clotted cream. Other than that, it was perfect!

We began a tradition of taking our daughters to High Tea when our oldest was going into kindergarten. She is now a Junior in HS and it is still a cherished tradition that began at the Queen Mary. What a lovely place, with elegant three tier offerings of finger sandwiches, sorbet, and tiny scones and delicious Irish breakfast tea.

I have been bringing my daughters here for many years. When my oldest daughter comes home from college for a vistit,Queen Mary's is on our list to vist and sometimes we will go directly from the airport. The atmosphere and the tea and food menu is moderate but really good and with a beautiful presentation. Recently we celebrated with my niece the week of her wedding. The breakfast was wonderful although we all agreed we missed the desserts! Thanks for the memories we have had and continue to have.

Absolutely amazing, I will never stop coming to this adorable tearoom. It's so, so fabulous. Everyone gets their own individual china teacup that's different from the rest from the owner's own personal collection. I love sitting by the doves in the window!!

The prices are VERY reasonable for the quality of food you get, and the amount! The tea is great -- make sure you get honey with your tea! The little honey server is to DIE for!

It is by far my favorite tea room in the Puget Sound area. I have been visiting this tea room for years and have fallen in love with its charm. I obviously love to go with friends, however, do venture there sometimes on my own to sit at one of their more intimate tables for two and enjoy tea and a book. The food is always yummy and the tea is as they as--spot on.

I have known Mary, the manager, for many years and she is as warm and fun as she has made her tea room to be.

It is always a treat for me as a fellow Tea Room owner to visit the Queen Mary Tea Shop. 'Tea as it should be' is served here. The food is alway wonderful and the staff are attentive and friendly. Mary the owner has the gem of Seattle in this little tea room. Her love and passion for tea and food is so evident, and there is a warm, comfy feeling to the place. l will continue to look forward to my enjoyable, but o to few visits here. Thanks Mary for providing us with this special place for really great tea.

If you love taking tea, you are in luck at Queen Mary. The tea room is nicely decorated in traditional Victorian style and tables are set with real bone china and linen. No cold glass tops or paper napkins here! We have been coming to Queen Mary for over 10 years and the food is consistatly mouthwatering. Attention to detail, attentive service, and expert presentation makes every visit one of the most enjoyable things to do.

the food at Queen Mary is delicious. the space is bustling (even on a weekday afternoon) and cramped, packed with knickknacks and flowered everything. i'm sorry to say that most of the tea service keeps the leaves stewing and ultimately destroys the flavor. i have been there with both large and small groups and have found the service to be moderately attentive and not particularly knowledgeable about tea. highly recommended for the pastries, tea sandwiches and sorbet.

Though we have had tea at many places including London, there are few that can match Queen Mary Tea. We are retired teachers who love to spend our afternoons enjoying afternoon tea. The owners, staff and attention to detail of this tea room is the best we have ever found.

Our visit to Queen Mary this weekend was tea delightful experience. We have been in before and were somewhat surprised the extremely busy atmosphere. Part of it, we were told is typical for a weekend. And adding to the effervesces was a wedding shower. The four of us ordered the formal afternoon tea which comes with the tea of your choice from a menu that is probably around 60 or 70 different teas.

Part way through the meal, the waiter brought samples a new tea that Queen Mary has blended. That was probably the most fun we’ve had as a group. The tea is actually a Rooibos. We had never heard of Rooibos. The waiter generously spent time explaining what Rooibos was and since the tea is brand new, invited us to help pick a name for the blend

I was not very pleased with the last time I came to this tearoom. I was not at all impressed with my food, it was cold and somewhat plain. The music overplaying was skipping and no one did a thing about it after awhile I was beginning to get a headache! My tea I had ordered was an Orange Spice, it was not orange spice but the waitress tried to tell me that sometimes black tea's can get a 'chocolatey' flavor, which I know to be wrong. I just felt like there wasn't much effort put into making their customers feel comfortable.

What a Birthday treat this was for my friend and myself. There were 4 of us, all English, on a day trip to Seattle from Vancouver WA. We chose the Queen Mary to celebrate our special day as we had read the wonderful reviews on Teamap, and quite honnestly wanted to see if this place actually lived up to the reputaion of being in the top 5% of all Tea Rooms in the state of WA. Well, we were very impressed. Mary the owner was so nice to us. We had tiaras placed on our heads, and birthday candles with our tea. We all had a different item on the menu and everything was superb!. Each mouthful was savoured by us all. The variety of Teas was vast to say the least, and the wait staff were polite and attentive. Yes, the room seemed crowded as there were alot of tables in a small space but it did not interfere with the enjoyment of the meal.We are planning to return again in the summer to enjoy This Gem of Seattle.

I visited this tea place on a recent business trip to Seattle (I found it on teamap.com), and let me tell you, it was excellent! I came back for a second visit, and would go again, anytime I am in Seattle!

I had the 'afternoon tea' on my first visit: the tea selection was very good, the fruit served was amazing (the assortment was truly impressive, considering I went in early Feb), the sorbet was good, the sandwiches were good (the salmon and also the cucumber were excellent, but I didn't like the almond chicken one), the deserts were very good. What made this place so outstanding was the excellent service, food quality, atmosphere & menu selection!

The only things I would change: I would cut the sandwiches into smaller portions (at least for the afternoon tea), and I would do something about the bench seating to make it more comfortable (it had padding, but was still a mite too uncomfortable)...all in all, an excellent experience at a well-established tea room, who clearly knows how to give a good afternoon tea!

A top notch tea room. Tables are perhaps a little too close together, but this is a minor quibble after having their warm chocolate cake! Excellent food and tea, all well-prepared. If you are a knitter, you can then browse the knit shop down the street afterwards. A perfect day!

Queen Mary's became a tradition for my daughter and her friends at the end of 8th grade. They have no graduated from college, but we still visit Mary's together at least once each summer. Tracy & I have had tea from Hong Kong's Peninsular to London's Ritz and Connaught including tea in Cairo, Egypt; Auckland, New Zealand, Boston & New York. And Mary's is still our favorite. We'll be back soon!

The tea is served in large glass 'coffee press' style containers, so you have a good quanitity to drink. I think the best way to go, however, is to decant the leaves after steeping. The dregs, although mostly isolated with the press, tend to still generate a lot of bitter taste as the pot sits.

It is a fun place to go on a date (a little too feminine for my taste) and you get excellent food and service. If it's crowded, it may be a little noisy if a lot of females congregating.

Next time I'll try the afternoon tea service and post a new review.

The menu at the Queen Mary is excellent, as is the tea. It's a fairly small tea room that does a lot of business. Frequently, I feel rushed to finish when dining there and it's not a relaxing experience. The staff are generally very nice. I much prefer the Empress Fairmont in Victoria.

The Queen Mary Tea Room is heaven to me. I have been there so many times and brought so many of my wonderful friends there. I feel vary pampered there with the English Bone China cups and their incredible food. Her selection of tea is so vast now that you have a hard time making up your mind which tea to order. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, on Valentines day, and while we came later in the day, the staff were friendly, and in no way rushed us. The tea was exquisite, and the cozy table by the window was greatly appreciated. The high tea was above average, and while I am a large man, entering hungry, I left quite satisfied. Very unimpressed. As a former owner of a tea room, i would give this a so/so rating. The wicker chairs are uncomfortable and the room in general is very 1980's florals and feels claustraphobic. The tea is good and the price is also good for what you receive. One thumb up, and one thumb down.

I originally took my fiancee to the tearoom for his birthday. He had lunch and I had afternoon tea. The food is scrumptious and the service was nothing short of perfect. I got an extra surprise when my boyfriend proposed to me next door at Beyond the Garden Gate prior to our tea time. You never know what's going to happen at the tea room!
