The Tea and Crumpet Shop
My mother and I stopped in for a sandwich crumpet. The young man making the sandwiches was pleasant and quite talkative. The sandwich was adequate, although it seemed to be quite bland tasting. My mother thought hers (tomato & pesto) was delicious. The sandwiches were cold and not toasted, but that was a minor flaw. The selection of teas was fine, although not overly generous in my mind. The food was good enough that I would stop in again.

The Perennial Tea Room
I spoke with them on the phone. They do not serve Afternoon Tea. Their focus is a TeaShop selling accessories and a Gift Emporium. They should not be included on this site since they do not actually provide a service of serving tea to customers.
Tearoom response:
While we do not serve a formal afternoon tea we do offer a properly brewed selection of teas per day, which may include first flush darjeeling, a white tea, a chance to taste a rare lapsang. Locally baked shortbreads, and English treats are also available.
In addition to accessories we offer a large selection of teas both popular and rare, tea pots, tea books, cups & saucers, mugs, infusers, all personally chosen by us because we use and like them. Information on how to use each product and how to brew every tea is given to each customer. Gifts of course for tea lovers and their friends are abundant - with focus on functional, elegant, and whimsical.
So do stop in or visit our website to personally review our selection.

My mother and I have made a hobby of visiting TeaRooms. We found the Secret Garden TeaRoom to be a delight! The food was fresh and delicious. The service was outstanding, friendly and welcoming. For less than $20 we had a tea tray overflowing with 3 different sandwiches, fresh fruit, 3 savories and several desserts. This is in addition to unlimited pots of tea and unlimited scones with Devonshire cream, homemade lemon curd and homemade raspberry jam. All menu items are also available to purchase and take home if you desire to share this with someone else. I think J. George should come back and give them another try. I found absolutely nothing lacking in the quantity or the quality of the food. The service was excellent and our waitress was a delight. In our experience in this area, the prices are far below other TeaRooms and the quality and quantity of the food is exceptional. The decor is a wonderment and adds to the appeal. We will definately be visiting again!
