Cobblestone Cottage
I have to laugh at myself, thinking back to my apprehension as I stepped inside Cobblestone for the first time. I had invited a friend, for support, and immediately felt like I was at my grammas' farmhouse. Sounds strange, but the cozy smell was everwhere. My eyes fell on teapots, matching linens, floral arrangements each complimenting the various table settings. Our smiling hostess brought us tea menus, and patiently explained the dozens and dozens and MORE dozens of tea varieties, allowing us to sample any and all. Trays arrived overflowing with sandwiches;and nestled among scattered flower petals, we found tender, flaky scones accompanied by curds and jams. Next, delightful desserts arrived, and time sort of floated right on by. Then the smiling hostess arrived with a camera and we were stars, and of course we could choose any type of boa or hat, etc. for our 'photo shoot.' And ALL this for just under $20.00. We left our experience with satisfied tummies, and a nice framed picture of 2 very pleasantly surprisd tea sippers who have returned many times. The outside little fairy garden is done the same way and offers the same enchanting service and food. Matching table settings, trees, waterwheel, birds.Serenety in the midst of chaos. The adorable mountain town of Alpine boasts this 'tea treasure' to be the most reasonable in the San Diego area. Come sip with me.
