Every year for the past 3 years I have taken a close friend to a tearoom to honor her on her birthday, but would not tell her which one or where (a continued tradition started with my mother until she went home to be with the Lord Jesus 3 years ago). This time I told my friend it was going to be an adventure for both of us since this was my first visit also. Both of us were most pleasantly surprised. When we arrived, we were a little apprehensive because the yard was not as neat and tidy like you might expect probably due to concentration on renovating the inside of the house. But when we went inside, we felt like we were experiencing a little of the past. The food was excellent served in the English tradition. We especially liked the cheese quiche. There was a good selection of loose teas from which to choose. In fact we both discovered some new flavors that we purchased to bring home to enjoy at a later time. My favorite was Snowflake. The background music created a very calming/relaxing atmosphere. Even though it was a little distance to travel, the whole experience was well worth the trip. Thank you for making my friend's birthday a special event.
Tearoom response:
Carol, thank you for sharing your experience, We are happy it was such a pleasant one. You were correct in that most of our energy and $$ went toward renovations, which included a few surprises we didn't count on. We have future plans to create secret gardens on the property where one can escape with a cup of tea.
