Reynolds Tea Room
I visited this tea room with three friends in June to celebrate a birthday, and it was a nice experience. The tavern has a wonderful atmosphere, and we ordered the Colonial High Tea. My friends and I loved that we each had a teacup and saucer of different traditional china patterns, but we found it strange that the teapots were contemporary. The variety of teas was better at other tea rooms that I've visited, and I did not care for the Reynolds Blend that I ordered, but the three-tiered tray of goodies more than made up for it. The differences between Reynolds' tray and other tea rooms were that Reynolds included a mini-quiche and a small shepherd's pie in addition to the finger sandwiches and that the top tier contained several bite-size desserts, not just three or four regular-size desserts. The presentation was fantastic! However, my friends and I agreed that the scones at the last tea room we had visited (SpecialTeas in PA) were better than Reynolds'. Service was pretty good, although sometimes it seemed as if our server disappeared since it took a while to order another pot of tea. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I would go again.

Special Teas Tea Room
I went to this tea room to celebrate a friend's birthday three months ago, and although I enjoyed it at the time, it does not compare to the other tea rooms that I've visited since then. The variety of teas is decent and similar to other tea rooms; however, the tea leaves are left in the pot, forcing the drinker to strain the leaves, which we weren't aware of until we noticed tea leaves in our cups. The quality of food wasn't bad; the sandwiches were the average tuna/chicken salad/etc., but each person received her own plate. The service was off because it was the waitress' first day, although the young girl was trying, and the cashier, whom we assumed as the owner, reprimanded her when we pointed out that we had only been charged for one person's tea instead of three. This review sounds as if it's negative, but it was really just average. I enjoyed my tea selection (Very Berry) more than any I've had since then and wished I had purchased it.
