• Brown Palace Hotel

  I'm heart-broken about this, but the Brown tea isn't what it used to be. The unique scones have been replaced with traditional dry, crumbly ones. The innovative, ever-changing sandwiches and desserts have been replaced by traditional cucumber sandwiches, etc. AND to add insult in injury, prices went up from $23 to $29. What was once one of the best teas in the country, is now just mediocre. Bummer.

  A self-serve tea room with a good variety of food items. It makes for a pleasant experience while visiting the wonderful Huntington, but probably not a destination tea room.

  The food quality is good. But Teaism suffers from the fact that it is selling sit-down quality food to carry-out customers (ie prices are high for quick carryout).

  A nice tea option for special occasions in the city. The setting is very nice (with views of the water), though you do know you're in a hotel tea room. The food was good but heavy on sweets. The service was friendly. The strawberries with the high tea are a nice touch.
