Anna Marie's Teas
Three of us attended the January 12th Night Tea. We had looked forward to it for months as it was the first time in several years that we three friends had been together. Imagine our dismay when without any warning or acknowledgement at all, we were taken to a table and seated with a complete stranger! The evening was a waste of time and money as what we had looked forward to as an evening with old friends was instead a constrained, awkward experience. When I politely complained by e-mail afterward, I was told that if we had wanted to sit at a private table we would need to pay for all the seats at that table! That policy is not listed on any website or mentioned at the time you purchase your tickets. The environment, tea or food cannot make up for that attitude. We are warning our tea-loving friends and we will not be going back.
Tearoom response:
We appreciate your feedback very much, and we are so sorry that your experience was not what you had hoped for. This tea party was somewhat different from our regular monthly tea parties as it was a fundraiser for a non-profit organization. Anna Marie’s Teas donated 100% of the ticket price from this event to the non-profit organization, so the goal was to fill as many seats as possible to maximize our fundraising efforts. With your feedback in mind, we are revising our policy statements on our website so that the seating arrangement information is very clear to future guests. We apologize for the confusion, and truly hope that you will join us again for another tea experience!
