Gryphon Tea Room
My wife and I ate at the Gryphon just the other day and let me tell you it was such a wonderful treat to come in and relax which is the very nature of Savannah within itself. The wait staff was incredibly polite and informative about the history of the building as with information on the Savannah College of art and Design which restored the old pharmacy back in the 90's. Overall, one would think that you were walking into a fine dining atmosphere, but as you stroll across the menu you find that it is fine dining food at the cheapest prices in town. I can not think of another restraunt where I can get a Salmon Steak for 11 dollars. It was so good that we came back in the afternoon where we had afternoon tea. Our server, offered us a special tea blend of the African Red Tea and Vanilla tea. We enjoyed it so much, we bought 3 ozs. of it for the way home, which was only 2.50 a oz. I highly recommend this place to any and all who come to savannah.
