Tea For You
Everything was wonderful. From the moment our Hostess and her family met us at the door until we left over 3 hours later, it was so very enjoyable. They nmade you feel so very welcome. She waits for you to arrive before she starts to brew the teas so that they will be at the peak of perfection when she serves them. Her 2 sons entertained us with magic while the first pots were brewing There was Tomato Basil Soup, followed by Fresh Fruit Cup. Then we had two kinds of scones with clotted cream and jam. There were three kinds of finger sandwiches served - ham and granny smith apple slices on raison bread, cucumber and cream cheese on minature wheat bread squares and I believe the other was curried chicken and golden raisons. The luncheon teas were Black Currant and Dahjarling (I think that is how it's spelled) Then we took a short break to let our lunch settle a bit and we had 'Show and Tell' with the items that everyone had brought in. It was very interesting to see all of them and hear the many different stories. For dessert, we had poppy seed cake, lemon squares on a shortbread crust and those delicious 7 layer bars (with Coconut, Chocolate Chips nuts, etc). She served peach apricot tea with our dessert. Our Hostess ended the lovely afternoon with a short program on the origin of Tea Parties and the different kinds of Tea. It was a fantastic day. My friends and I wre looking forward to attending another 'Tea For You' Party this Fall and hopefully in the future also.
