Gourmet Junction
The Gourmet Junction is a little bit of everything...It has an open friendly, multi-purpose interior. People walk in an out throughout the day to get coffee (plain and fancy), ice cream, soup, sandwiches, soda pop. To browse the shelves selling jewelry, scarfs, hats, tea pots, tea cups, candy, chocolates etc.... Yes, I know it is not a traditional style tea room but it is so worth a visit. Full tea is best done by reservation but you can eat there at any time. The food is fresh, well made and plentiful. The tea served by bag OR loose. The service can be slow at times but that is the nature of tea taking, isn't it? But if you are in a hurry??-just say so and the will serve you '123'. It is a casual open place, friendly staff and costumers alike. I have been going there for years and I say it is well worth a visit any time. So go there. Plenty of free street parking. When done there walk up and down the street to visit all the other little shops, bakery, meat market, park, library etc.. that Plainfield has to offer.
