Reynolds Tea Room
This is one of my favorite tea houses in the area, and I was not disappointed this weekend. My plain scone was a generous size and delicious, and it's nice that you get to choose the type of scone you'd like, which is unusual at tea houses. The offering of sandwiches and tarts was very good, and the offering of sweets still remains the best around. I think there were 7 different sweets on the plate--most other teahouses only provide 3 or 4. Service was excellent, as usual.

Tea by Two
This is my absolute favorite tea room in the Baltimore area and is worth the hour-long drive it takes me to get there! Their tea selection is GREAT, the scones are AMAZING, their sandwiches are WONDERFUL, and the deserts are EXCELLENT. Keep up the good work, Tea by Two!

Tea On The Tiber
I have been to this tea room several times and it is generally one of my favorites in the area. The cost of the afternoon tea includes tax and tip, which is nice. My positive rating is based on my multiple experiences at this tea house, but I do have to say that the last time we visited (about two weeks ago) I did not think it was a good as usual. We were seated upstairs at an unstable table. Every time one of us leaned on the table, it shifted in our direction. In addition, the food selection was not as good as I remembered it being on past visits. The ginger scone was large and tasty, but ginger is a very strong spice that not everyone likes (including one of our guests) so I was surprised it was the only option offered. The cheese was wonderful, as were the sandwiches, especially the tomato. The 'sweets' selection at our last visit, left a lot to be desired, and that's usually my favorite part. We were given three sweets: glazed almonds in a chocolate cup, a soft butter cookie, and a berry cobbler over crushed pretzels. I didn't particularly care for any of those, so I definitely left disappointed. Although my last visit left a bit to be desired, I gave the food a 'good' rating because all of my previous visits have left me feeling like I had a wonderful tea/dining experience. I just hope my last visit was a fluke and does not turn into the norm. 'T,' the hostess, by the way, is fabulous!
