The Pink Bicycle Tea Room
This place has so much potential but always seems to fall just short of the mark. I was there recently with a group of friends and we all pretty much agreed that while the tea service wasn't bad, it wasn't great either. The ambience leaves something to be desired. As other reviews have noted the large table we were at didn't have a tablecloth on it or even placemats. The tea served was very good and our server really knew the teas and recommended several she thought were good. The food was so-so: the scones were not good, too dry and hard, with no flavor. The desserts were all store bought; Nothing special there. It would be so nice if they would just improve the look and the food. It's nearby and I'd love to go there more often with friends.

De'Tours in Elizabeth City
An historic Victorian-era house decorated with a wide variety of wonderful antiques and treasures was only the start to a perfect afternoon spent in Elizabeth City, NC. We were treated to a variety of tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts (the chocolate truffle was so good) and two types of tea (tea bag) while Bonnie told us all about the history of the house and the antiques in it. After tea she took us on a fabulous walking tour of the historic section of the City. Then is was back to her house for a tour of her lovely garden. We really enjoyed our time there.
