Columbia Kate's
After a long year of waiting for a chance to make the trip from the East Bay to Columbia Kate's, we finally made it today! The tearoom is wonderfully decorated and just our cup of tea, actually - charming, chic and artistic! My daughter (10) and I enjoyed a pot of Jasmine flower green tea which was delish! Maggie had the rocky road brownie and I had the AMAZING bread pudding. I love that you can enjoy a pot of tea and treats a'la cart without being tied into a particular prix fix service. The flexibility, variety and value are exceptional! The service was impeccable and all of the gals so stylish and kind. I have been following Columbia Kate's on Facebook after finding it here. I told our server and Clare (the owner) came by to meet us! What a lovely treat! Don't forget to save time to shop in the boutique! We found many wonderfully delightful holiday pressies for others, ourselves and for our own at-home tea garden! Both Maggie and I cannot WAIT to come back. My only regret is Columbia Kate's isn't Livermore Kate's :) so we could go as often as we want!!!

The English Rose Tea Room and Gifts
My daughter and I visited The English Rose last spring and enjoyed it so much it inspired us to create a tea garden at our home. I surprised Maggie this week with another special mom and daughter visit to fill in the corners of her spring break. She was so giddy! Laura and Karen took wonderful care of us, giving us our choice of seats (Maggie picked a cosy corner for the two of us). The food and tea are delicious, service impeccable and cheerful. Also, both of us being 'tomboys' are not always comfortable in 'too frilly' or Victorian surroundings, but The English Rose is cheerful, bright and made us feel like special girls! Karen. Laura and Lisa made sure everything was satisfactory and treated Maggie and I with utmost care. A very special place to enjoy tea, treats and creating special memories.
