Teaism
came up by train to sample the afternoon tea at this tearoom. Atmosphere kind of a asian /urban fusion. Different from the victorian/british style I lean towards but a pleasant enough experience nevertheless.

La Petite Tea Room
Pleasant little nook in the antique mall. We went there for tea on impulse and enjoyed ourselves. The food was tasty and visually appealing. I liked the tea paraphanalia that was on view. It added to the atmosphere. I could wish that the tea room was just a tad larger as the size of the place would be the only drawback that I can think of...Having people go past you to one of the closeby table tends to break that 'tea time serenity' that I like to have when I visit a shop. Still all in all not a bad place by any means and the owner was very pleasant indeed

Samovar Tea Lounge
I was visiting San Francisco and went to Samovar. I was expecting a more 'elegant' atmosphere than I found. Yet I can't say I was disappointed in the 'new age urban funk' ambiance that I found. Service was very good and I have to say that the Russian menu choice I made was very good. Once I acclimated I quite enjoyed getting my tea from the samovar. I enjoyed the smoky taste of the tea I chose. All in all Samovar was a very good experience on my tea journey. Next time I am in San Francisco I would like to vist the Yerba site. What's a tea journey if you don't try something just a little different?
