Cambridge Tea House
I will certainly return to the Cambridge Tea House. I loved their Harney & Sons teas and their tea breads. The ambience is very nice and it's got a lot of the traditional British tea room aspect to it. My complaints are about things that can be changed easily. My partner and I got our food almost immediately (cream tea and tea breads) but had to wait another ten minutes for the tea to arrive. Why not reverse this order? It would be nice if the tea cups were warmed--I don't know how difficult that would be. The cream tea, alas, had the American interpretation of 'scone'. I much prefer the . British. The clotted cream was a bit of a mystery--at first I thought it was mixed with cream cheese or perhaps sour cream. The texture was almost gelatinous. And the jam! Just a tiny dollop! I think that they could add a soupcon more! The Cambridge Tea House has already fulfilled much promise and I will be trying them again. My quibbles are minor in the context of the larger experience.
