We had a wonderful experience yesterday 7/12/2015. Celebrated belated birthday and going away gathering. Great for a mother and daughter adventure along with gal friends. Will definitely be back. Sally the owner is terrific!! See you soon Sally

I must agree with another reviewer that, as enjoyable as the experience is here, the best part of this place is the hostess. I left behind a bag with my birthday cupcake and tea and was planning to go back to pick it up - a 15-minute drive from my house. She delivered it to me! How can you top service like that?!

Our 3-person book club enjoyed our full service tea for my friend's birthday. Owner, Sally, clearly takes great pride and pleasure in creating a warm, welcoming, festive, atmosphere. Nice choice of teas, with tasty 3-tier server of appetizers, sandwiches, and desserts -- even a large birthday cupcake with musical candle for our friend, and little treats to take home with us. Charming decor and table settings, with a large selection of teas, tea items, and personal products for shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Tea Leaf !

Came here for Valentine's Day and I couldn't have made a better choice. It was our first time experiencing afternoon tea, and Sally was not only friendly and hospitable, but also really informative. The sandwiches and desserts were amazing, and I can't wait to bring my family here next time. It would be a major plus if they have outdoor seating though, because during spring/summer months I would love to enjoy this outside.

The Tea Leaf is the ultimate little get away from the hustle and bustle.....Sally greets every customer at the door as if they were the highlight of her day, which she assures us we all are!! Her service is impeccable...choices of tea are amazing...try Boston...I think I have a new favorite!....lunch is deliscious...warm scones w/cream and jam, then a dizzying array of sandwiches and sweets all served on beautiful dishes.....the artistry of the shop is amazing....variety of things to choose from and high level of quality....the Tea Leaf is really somewhat of a mini vacation!!! Thank you Sally.....we are fortunate to have this oasis here in Waltham!

I found this place through Groupon and I'm looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks. Sally is a sweet lady who really cares about the quality of the tea and the atmosphere you are consuming it in. She is also very knowledgeable about the teas the stores offer. The store itself is relaxing enough for tea for one, but not stifling if you're in a group and want to chat. Honestly, I can't wait to go back.

I found this tea room through Groupon and I'd been looking forward to going here for a bit now, and I'm so glad I bought that Groupon! The afternoon tea was just a delight; a tea-lovers paradise! The large pot of tea with the full array of sandwiches and pastries filled me right up, and the selection of tea is phenomenal. I was also pleasantly surprised by the cheerfulness and friendliness of the owner. I'm definitely going back and bringing everyone I know - although maybe not all at once, because it is a bit small!

I've been to this tearoom twice, most recently a few weeks ago and it was a delight. I had a 1 o'clock reservation and while we weren't seated right away the owner made sure we were taken care of. She was smart enough to give us scones while she prepared the rest of our food and gave us a discount for having made us wait. The owner does everything herself so it is quite impressive that she always maintains a smile and a great attitude. This place is more for those who are looking for a tea experience where they feel like they are being invited into someone's home. It's quaint and cozy. You get plenty of tea with free pot refills should you need any. The tea and food were good and the service was also excellent. The atmosphere feels a bit cluttered but at the same time it is very intimate and doesn't get too noisy.

The Afternoon Tea at the Tea Leaf is a must do experience. It is elegant yet very cozy. The tea selection is extensive and Sally brews each tea perfectly. The food is delicious, fresh, and plentiful. Sally takes pride in her presentation and it shows. She is friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The atmosphere is quaint. You are surrounded by lovely tea things. What could be better? There are plenty of tea items to look at, enjoy, and even bye if you are so inclined. Sally is happy to assist you but is never pushy. I come here every year to celebrate my birthday with my family,6-8 of us. We are never disappointed. Sally always makes it special. She's like family! The tearoom is on a busy street but once you are inside you forget it is there. You may even forget it is the 21st century not the 19th! Do yourself a favor and experience the Tea Leaf. I recommend the afternoon tea but there are other lovely choices!

I had the best time at The Tea Leaf. It was relaxing, warm and cozy. My pumpkin and peppermint scones were served with fresh whipped cream and jam, just perfect. And what a large assortment of teas and tea accessories. Next time I come back I'm bringing my sisters for a perfect afternoon out!

Everything we had for our tea sandwiches was so fresh. The owner, Sally, was such a personable hostess and we had a lovely chat about tea, and she gave us suggestions about places to visit while in Waltham, historic homes, museums, shops, etc. I loved the tea that I had, I just had to purchase it before I left. I'm still enjoying it. We will be back! Thanks to Sally for creating such a lovely and relaxing atmosphere.

It's been a while since our last visit to The Tea Leaf and it's still worth the drive. The Afternoon tea is our favorite. The sandwiches are always freshly made and the scones, some of the best we've had. They seem to try to change up the sandwiches and sweets periodically and this visit they featured ginger scones that were really wonderful. We never leave this place hungry.

The Tea Leaf is consistently a relaxing, restorative, friendly, and delicious experience! A wide variety of teas is sold both bagged, and loose and special orders will happily be placed for customers. A great selection of teas is also served in the tea room. I highly recommend the full afternoon tea which comes with an assortment of tasty tea sandwiches, scones, sweats, etc.... The exact offerings vary from time to time. My current sandwich favorite is the chicken with avocado. There are also great soups and amazing desserts! The atmosphere is congenial and calming. It's not uncommon for guests to strike up fascinating conversations with people they just met. The Tea Leaf is wonderful just to unwind and for special occasions too.

Have not been to The Tea Leaf for quite a while but this little tearoom has to be our favorite. They have a new menue since we last visited and the choices are wonderful. This time around in addition to the Afternoon Tea service, we enjoyed the berries and cream offering and in addition to our hot tea, we enjoyed a green tea smoothie. Yum! They are offering a few different flavors of smoothie but the green tea was a great choice. We won't wait as long to come back to The Tea Leaf.

My niece and I celebrate our birthdays each year with visits to different tea rooms. The Tea Leaf was new to us, and we consider it a great find. Sally, the proprietress, seems to be a one-woman operation - hostess, waitress, chef, etc. She is extremely welcoming and very knowledgeable about the teas she serves. The food was wonderful, and the presentation was lovely. When we needed our tea reheated, not only was Sally happy to do that, but she also encouraged us to try another tea selection in addition to the two we already had (no charge). We enjoyed a most relaxing atmosphere, delicious homemade food, and the welcoming presence of our hostess. Would definitely recommend the Tea Leaf to anyone who savors the afternoon tea experience.

Our 1st visit on Saturday, and we plan to return with more friends in 2 weeks - delightful, delicious and lovely experience! Sally is a wonderful hostess, and we completely enjoyed the Tea Leaf - left full and with bags of tea and scones & jam to make at home! LOVE IT LOVE IT!! Thank you!!

I've been to many tearooms and this has to be the best by far. Relaxing ambiance, delightful decor and soothing classical music. As soon as my friend and I stepped into The Tea Leaf it was like instant relaxation. On this weekday they had just a few customers but weekends are bustling so this was a much needed relaxing and enjoyable time. The sandwiches were so fresh (the pumpkin chicken was sooo yummy)and sweets satisfied my sweet tooth. The cranberry and blueberry scone were to die for and the best I've ever had. Confirmed reservations are a must at the tearoom as they have limited seating.

Sally, the owner of The Tea Leaf, is not only a fantastic host but a delightful individual. I visited here with a friend and we truly enjoyed getting to know Sally and loved the tea! She suggested a great tea especially for us as well as paired it well with some soft, delicious sconces - the best I've ever had. I highly recommend visiting this place, trying a sconce, and buying some tea to enjoy the full experiences. I most certainly will go back.

The Tea Leaf Tea tea room's is a delightful little spot and boasts the sub title 'For Tea and Treasured Things' which was right on the money! This adorable little shop is filled with gifts and tea accessories, jewelry, hats and apparel. The Tea Leaf is truly special and worth sharing with the 'tea loving community'! I recently visited the Tea Leaf with members of my book club. Sally, the owner of the shop greets her guests at the door and once seated she presented the menu and a run down of the seasonal teas as well as those on the menu that might be unfamiliar to rookies like myself. We enjoyed a lovely 'Afternoon Tea' which consisted of; a pot of our choice of tea, a warm scone with jam and clotted cream (which I could have swam in it was so delectable), I chose cranberry and others in my party chose blueberry, both were delicious. Our next course was a lovely assortment of savory tea sandwiches, assortment included traditional cucumber and cream cheese, deviled egg salad, smoked cod, pineapple curry chicken, artichoke with Parmesan and cream cheese, however the assortments do change from time to time. Afternoon Tea is blueberry filled tart-lets, chocolate dipped macaroons, ricotta squares, fruit-filled crumb cakes and mini cream puffs. The Tea Leaf is a wonderful retreat with it's simple but elegant decor, soothing background music and exceptional service, guests may feel as though they've taken a mini-vacation! Our group topped off our dining experience with some early holiday shopping among the wide variety of unique gifts they have to offer. The Tea Leaf is a great take for tea connoisseurs as well as occasional tea drinkers.

We have been to this Tea Room several time and we also buy our Yorkshire Gold Tea and their scones here because they are so good! My 90 year old Mum is British and we often go out to tea and The Tea Leaf tea has better food and service than the much more expensive afternoon tea we had at The Four Seasons in Boston recently. The food is excellent, with the sandwiches and fillings obviously made fresh to order...the teacakes and petit fours are also fresh and delicious..the Mushroom tart service that day was a favorite. The tea selection is large..we had The Palm Tea and Irish Breakfast this last trip. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is great and the shelves of tea items and miscellanious gifts are great to shop through.

The Tea Leaf is a Gem!
Our third visit to the Tea Leaf, and we enjoyed Afternoon tea on Mother's Day Weekend, with Palm Court tea.
Sally, the owner and operator, takes great pride in personally preparing the tea sandwiches, and her knowledge about each tea and their origin is wonderful!
Both tea and food was fabulous, and we will return again and again.

This past weekend four of us decided to gather for tea - and The Tea Leaf turned out to be the perfect place. We all enjoy freshly brewed tea and sandwiches, and Tea Leaf had a wide variety of both to offer us. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the place is small but chock full of tea, tea items, and some wonderful clothing pieces. We had scones, sandwiches, tiny quiches, and little desserts - and we couldn't really eat dessert! So Sally, who is a warm and wonderful person, allowed us to take them home. We had a splendid time, we never felt rushed, but we DID need a reservation - there are many fellow tea-lovers in the world! Thanks, Sally, for giving us such a wonderful tea.

I wanted to meet up with an old friend I rarely get to see, and the only time we had mutually available was on Saturday at tea time. I struck on the idea of making an occasion of it by going to a Tea Room and actually having tea. It turned out to be a wonderful experience for all 3 of us. The shop is small but charming. The teas were abundant, beautifully prepared, and one could linger over a pot or two (all unique in themselves), taking your time with conversation and the delicious 3 course tea. Food was perfect, as was every little touch. Sally is a warm and delightful person and it shows in this labor of love.

The Tea Leaf keeps you going back! I've now been to Sally's several times and have enjoyed each and every visit.
As others mentioned, you need to make a reservation, since the shop is small and Sally handles the service herself. It's slower, but you get personalized service...and what kind of savage would want to rush through a lovely tea break anyway? :)
The prices are very reasonable and you can't beat the afternoon tea with friends. If you aren't up for the full deal, my other favorites are the scones (!!), quiches, and desserts.
Half the shop is set aside for shopping and I've found a bunch of treasurer there- including your new favorite tea to take home, of course. Tea Cozies and dishes, clothing, dolls, cups and saucers....Sally offers a little of everything.
I enjoy relaxing a taking my time whenever I visit and hope to be back again soon.

We recently celebrated my granddaughter's 8th birthday at The Tea Leaf and are so glad we chose this special place for her special day. We've been here many times and enjoyed many pots of teas and different food items - everyone of them was delicious. For this particular tea we had the 3-course Afternoon Tea and it was spectacular. Since we are vegetarians, we let Sally know when we made our reservations that our sandwiches would need to be without meat or fish and Sally truly outdid herself with wonderfully tasteful offerings. Everything was fantastic. The birthday girl even got a small cupcake with candle and she was so pleased to receive this special treatment.
We have purchased gifts of teapots, teas, spoons, cups, dolls, bears, and many other wonderful items there. There is so much to see and love about The Tea Leaf.
Reservations are really important to make before planning a trip there as Sally, the owner, handles all the preparations and serving by herself - which is why everything tastes so fresh and the attention to detail is so extraordinary.
I can't say enough good things about The Tea Leaf - it is truly a wonderful place to sit down, slow down, relax and enjoy. We will be returning again and again!
If you're looking for a terrific place to have a lovely meal and a great pot of tea, I highly recommend The Tea Leaf.

The decor, retail section is a great place to but tea or a gift items. So much to browse at in this quaint shop. Reservations are needed but I highly recommend the Tea Leaf. Owner Sally greeted us personally and was very attentive.
LOVE the tea sandwiches and sweets and the scones are the best I've ever had at tea! They sell them to take home so I did! I'll visit again as soon as my scones are gone! I highly recommend this little gem!

Being tea lovers, my and I husband have had Low Tea at some of the best Boston and New York hotels. But the Tea Leaf was the nicest find in a long time. The sandwich fillings were so fresh and unique (chicken with pumpkin!). The scones (blueberry and cranberry) were filled with fruit, and the holiday themed sweets were a nice finish. While tere, we purchased some tea gifts for Christmas and a couple for ourselves as well. They have a good selection of teapots and tea accessories at very good prices. They also have this bin of out of date tea at 30% off their regular prices. Sally, the owner actually waited on our table ans was very attentive to be sure that everyone had hot tea and even took time to chat for a few minutes at each tabel!
Reservations are a must since while we were there (on a weekend), business was bustling and we noticed that walk-in's were turned away.

I visited this charming little find recently with friends before a tour at Gore Place. The tea was expertly prepared and the quiche was absolutely scrumpcious. They even give you a choice of fresh sliced apple or chips with their sandwiches! If you do the 'combo', your soup arrives in a teacup (nice touch) we didn't have room for the scones or the gingerbread but we'll surely return for that. The selection of teas in the tea shop is impressive and there is so much to look at. I purchased the nifty tea wallet and will return for more for gifts. I also purchased a wonderful cd of Celtic Harp (coulmusic which was playing as we enjoyed our lunch. (couldn't resist!) In short, I'll be returning to make some holiday purchases for friends and family and will be ordering that gingerbread!

I made a reservation for my daughter's Bridal Shower. The tea party was so perfect for the occasion, and my daughter loved it. Sally the owner was so friendly and helpful, and really did a great job to make sure everything was perfect. We had the three-course Afternoon Tea, and the food was delicious. I would definitely go back again.

Two friends and I spent the most delight afternoon at The Tea Leaf in Waltham, Massachusetts. Proprietress Sally was charming, informative and served a delectable low tea luncheon. As the tea and conversation flowed - so did the stresses of daily life. This dear lady should write a book about 'the art of tea' and gracious living. Thank you.

My friend and I really enjoyed the afternoon tea service at The Tea Leaf on a busy Saturday afternoon. Even though we were late, the owner, Sally, still accommodated us. It's a very cozy, high quality tearoom experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We especially enjoyed the tea and the cucumber sandwiches. I choose the apricot tea and my friend choose a lovely rooibos. Looking forward to visiting again one day.

After a long stressful year, I decided what a better way to out with the old and in with the new, would be at The Tea Leaf in Waltham with some good friends. The ambiance of the tearoom and a warm cup of tea was just what we needed while reminicing over the past year and welcoming in the new. We all enjoyed the three-course Afternoon Tea and couldn't have made a better selection. We started out with warm scones complimented by fresh clotted cream cheese and jam.Our second course was an array of fine selected tea sandwiches which included cucumber and cream cheese, salmon, chicken and dill and a tapanade. How filling as well as delicious ! The third and final couse was the grand finale of desserts which included candies, eclairs, and brownies topped with sprinkles. The warm atmosphere embraced us and along with a warm cup of Darjeerling and interesting conversation, we couldn't have asked for a better day. With the many trinkets, candles, packaged teas, giftcards and clothing, it's hard to leave without making a purchase. The four of us left The Tea Leaf calm and relaxed willing to embrace the New Year ahead. I strongly suggest if you have not visited The Tea Leaf, find some time to do so and while there ask Sally about the City card.

Although it was cold and rainy outside, the warm and inviting feeling of The Tea Leaf never fails to draw me back. This visit I brought five friends to experience the three-course tea service. While we waited for our tea, we browsed the tea and gift shop where I always seem to find something new. The lovely greeting cards with teabags tucked inside were a must have as was the tea wallet.
As for the three-course tea, the selection of sandwiches were scrumptious. The chicken salad with cranberries and curry and the artichoke and cream cheese spread were two of my favorites and the brownies with french lavender frosting was a favorite of several of my guests. As for the scones, I always bring home extras so that we can enjoy them in the morning or evening with tea. Yum!

I've now enjoyed two afternoon teas with my family at the Tea Leaf. It is so nice to have found a tea room where we can enjoy an 'every day' tea, in addition to high tea. The food was excellent on both visits and I enjoy browsing all the nooks and crannies enormously. See you again soon, Sally!

After walking past the Tea Leaf several times, we were intrigued to pay a visit. Our first experience there was a very pleasurable one and sure enough, we had to come back. The hostess was very welcoming and took an interest in getting to know us and by the second visit, she had remembered our names. She was so kind as to treat us to dessert as a farewell treat for my friend who was leaving to study abroad. The variety of tea is great and the cream cheese and cucumber tea sandwiches are just delicious. We came back once more with a larger group of friends and enjoyed an afternoon tea seating. We will definitely be returning once the semester starts at Bentley and will be sure to spread the word about the Tea Leaf, which surely deserves praise.

I am a student at Bentley University and go to dinner on Moody Street often with friends and family, however I saw this Tea shop for the first time when I went to dinner with my roommate and our families at a Thai restaurant next door and it was such an amazing surprise. I then noted the hours down and made sure to show everyone on that evening about this newly found tea place because without a doubt we were all going to HAVE to go back when it was open. I am a tea fanatic and coming from the west coast my friends and I love going out to tea, I just never found a place out here when I was in school. I can truly say now that I found a home away from home! The first time I went to The Tea Leaf was on my Birthday with my roommate and we had an amazing time and enjoyed the company around so much, I went back to campus and told all my friends about that great hospitality, wonderful food and amazing tea! From then on I knew I had to bring all my friends back. I enjoyed having tea there so much I made it a point to have The Tea Leaf be the last place I went to before leaving MA to go home to Oregon. I can't wait to return back to school to visit my favorite tea place several more times!

My sister and I had a wonderful afternoon tea. The proprietess, Sally, was so friendly and personable. We arrive a bit early and she recommended we visit the Gore House--and she even called to let them know we were coming and they provided us with a personal tour! Where else would you get such a warm welcome plus a tour in the area! Hats off to Sally. We will visit this tea shop again--even if we have to make a special trip to Boston!

A very welcoming hostess and a very pleasant room in which to have tea, or in our case, celebrate a special occasion with visitors

My friends and I had a wonderful visit at The Tea Leaf! Amazing selection of teas and can be served either hot or cold. The selection of finger sandwiches included with the afternoon tea service were delicious, especially the salmon. The desserts were quite fantastic - lavender icing on the mini brownie! More than enough food to enjoy with your tea! The owner was very nice and definitely knows her teas! I purchased several tins and have been enjoying the green tea infused with cherry. We definitely will be visiting again!

My daughter and I attended the Jane Austen tour at Gore Place in Waltham. We were told that The Tea Leaf on Moody Street offers 10% off Afternoon Tea service if you bring your ticket from the tour, so we made a reservation.
The tearoom and shop were so unique. So much offered for sale and a delight to browse.
The tea list was extensive and varied and the menu seemed to offer something for everyone.
We savored out three-course Afternoon Tea service and had lots of time to chat, not being rushed at all. The scones were chock filled with fruit and we received both cranberry and blueberry scones. The assortment of four tea sandwiches on both white and wheat breads were tasty and fresh. My favorite was the ginger chicken and their cucumber and cream cheese is to die for.
The assortment of sweets included lemon tea bread with lemon curd and fresh strawberry, brownie with lavender frosting, shortbread cookie and a light, yummy cream puff.
We will definitely go back and I couldn't wait to tell my friends about this great little find.

First, I uploaded a picture of one of the scones - they are really that big, and that delicious! The old fashioned friendly service, soft music, and the essence of a time gone by greet you when you enter. Add that to a lunch of mini quiches (there is more variety, but I LOVE the quiches!) scones, and tea (what a selection!) and voilà! You have the tea leaf! I so recommend this tea room. It doesn't get any better, and.. it is local - in Waltham!

I visited this tea room with 5 of my friends in March and had a wonderful time. There are so many teas to choose from. Sally was very gracious in allowing us to try many of the teas. Of course I had to buy some of the new ones I found. Many good Quality teas. The food was good and Sally really went out of her way to make us comfortable. It was a wonderful way to pass the afternoon. Can't wait to go back.

I happened upon this little tearoom and gift shop while visiting with relatives in the area. So much tea, so little time! Very wide selection of tea, and a choice of fresh sliced apple with your sandwich instead of chips. A nice and thoughtful touch when there is so much junk out there. We shared the apple strudel dessert of the day topped off with French Vanilla ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream. I look forward to going back again when I come to visit.

My daughter treated me to Mother's Day Tea and the Tea Leaf Tea Room, and treat it was! Our server, Cynthia was delightful and while there were non-stop reservations, she was attentive to each patron and their needs. The presentation was wonderful! We ordered the special Mothers Day afternoon teach which included delectable selection of sandwiches, the ginger chicken was my personal favorite. The cranberry scones were warn and buttery and were served with a light clotted cream. For dessert we were given a selection of tea pastries that included lovely lemon tea bread and large chocolate dipped strawberries. The owner and her staff clearly go out of their way to make each patron feel special. We were each given a lovely Mother's Day carnation and a beautifully packaged chamomile tea bag to take home. In addition to the delightful fare, this quant little tea shop is also filled with lovely gifts and treasures. After our lunch we browsed the shop and found several gift items for an upcoming bridal shower which I asked the owner to wrap with a selection of her more popular teas. The gift was beautifully packaged and was the hit of the bridal shower! What a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day!

The best scones I've had in a LONG time! They sell them to take home too. When ordering a sandwich they ask if you'd like a fresh sliced apple or chips, offering a healthier choice. We got the combo with the tomato soup which was organic and so smooth. The teas served were Harney and we shared a large pot of vanilla tea which hit the spot on a rainy day.
The Tea Leaf had these great little tea wallets that have compartments for tea bags and your favorite sweetner packets. I purchased two. They were under $10.and make nice gifts.

My friends and I enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon tea at The Tea Leaf... so nice to have this shop in Waltham. The owner is cheerful and helpful. There are lots of teas and teapots and unique gifts tucked into each nook and cranny! We felt very comfortable, and I look forward to going again.

A wonderful find on a sunny day! We happened upon this little tearoom/tea shop while enjoying a spring walk and great weather. We didn't have a reservation (they recommend that you make one) and it was pretty busy but we decided to wait a few minutes for a table by browsing through the shop. Many teas, tea pots, gifts, etc.
After a several minutes, we were seated (I will make a reservation next visit).
We each enjoyed a different tea and shared a quiche which was the perfect size for one or to share. We were still a bit hungry so we also shared a delightful cranberry scone with homemade cream that was light and not too sweet and strawbeery fruit preserves that had big chunks of fruit.
The wait staff was friendly and gave us some info on what to see and do in the area. (Nice touch!)
We will definitely come back.

I love this great little tearoom and gift shop. I had the combo of sandwich and soup and finished with warm gingerbread! Yum! They only have the gingerbread in the winter though so I come here whenever I can and bring a book to read and relax. The owner Sally always has something new in the gift shop. I love all things Victorian so I come here for all my greeting cards which are only $1.95! A bargain considering the quality. They have other types of cards as well. But this little place seems to have something for everyone. The free off street parking is a plus too.

I have visited this lovely tearoom several times. I enjoy the quaint ambiance, large selection of teas and great menu (the cucumber sandwich is my favorite!). The tea is served in beautiful teapots and the teacups have lids! The tea is perfectly hot and the leaves are already removed (so no mess). I also have purchased some quality brand teas from the shop. The owner, Sally, is very attentive. I mentioned to her that I was staying in the area for my husband’s work. She offered her personal email address and emailed me a thoughtful list of places to visit while we’re in New England the next few months. Sally’s hospitality is above and beyond! You won’t be disappointed!

Great variety of tea in the tea shop as well as on the menu. Sally was very helpful and knowledgeable about tea and helped me decide what to buy for Christmas gifts for co-workers and friends. When I wasn't sure about a particular tea, she prepared a sample tasting for me.
I then decided to have a scone which was out of this world! She also sells them to take home which I did and I'll be going back again and again.

Lovely tearoon with large selection of teas. The quiche and organic tomato soup are wonderful and their warm gingerbread the best I've ever had.
The waitress was attentive and sociable.
The tea shop had a very large selection of teas and tea-related gifts. I will be returning to do all my holiday gift buying since the prices are very reasonable and the gift items are unique.

I took my 3 of my fellow co-workers to The Tea Leaf. They had never been to a tea room before and they were very impressed with the ambience, the food, the hospitality. We sat and chatted and had lots of laughs. It was such a delightful experience that they want to know when we are going back again. We actually did the afternoon tea selection and we had to bring some sandwiches and desserts back to work. They were devoured in 5 minutes. Sally was delightful as usual. We'll be back soon.

I took my sister from out of town to this lovely tearoom that I discovered a few months ago. My sister had the chicken wrap sandwich complete with pickle and chips and I enjoyed the quiche which was the perfect size for one. I thoroughly enjoyed the the slice key lime pie for dessert ad my sister loved the raspberry sorbet which was just the perfect ending to our lunch.
While we were enjoying our lunch we feasted our eyes in the many offerings at this little treasure. There was everything from teapots to unique clothing to original art to art prints. Needless to say I couldn't leave without purchasing one of their classic rain slickers that was so affordable I couldn't resist it!
I will visit again soon and bring a friend.

I have been to the Tea Leaf many times now and each experience has been better than the last. I love the quiches and scones--both cranberry and blueberry and the teas are heavenly. The atmosphere is charming with many teas and accessories available for purchase as well as other miscellaneous items. To add to the experience, the proprietress is not only exceptionally friendly, she knows everything about Waltham and has many great ideas of what to do in the area. I have brought a number of different friends to the Tea Leaf and everyone loves it. I highly recommend this tea room.

My husband and I came back for our second visit on Mother's Day. Once again, we were very pleased with the charming atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff and owner, Sally. I plan to hold my birthday celebration there next month. I look forward to introducing my friends to this lovely tearoom.

This tea room is an excellent choice for an afternoon tea outing. My Aunt and I are Tea Hunters and have tried many different places. This made our favorites list and we'll be sure to come back. Today was our first time here and we came home with teas and sugar crystals... so if you want a nice small place with a gift shop
Come to The Tea Leaf

I took my friend there for a quiet birthday celebration and we had the most wonderful afternoon. The food was delicious and plentiful and the owner was friendly and charming. Lots of wonderful things to purchase in the gift department. Even a discount for being a Red Hatter. This is a must do! I can not wait to go again!

I visited The Tea Leaf Saturday after an afternoon movie, and it was the perfect way to spend a relaxing hour. The shop is charming, and was quiet that day, allowing me to read while enjoying my tea. Sally, the owner, showed the right mix of friendliness, attentiveness and interest, while giving me my privacy. The pot of chai tea was delicious -- I was pleasantly surprised to see it as an option -- and the cranberry scone was warm, moist, and scrumptious with the clotted cream and strawberry preserves. The selection of sweets was an added treat although in truth I could have stopped at the scone as it was all quite filling. Sally gave me a great sense of the place so I can plan my next visit, which I already have in mind to share with friends. I hope more folks find this hidden gem. Oh, and the gifts are quite interesting -- I also walked away with a lovely little candle.

My husband and I visited this charming tea room on a Sunday afternoon, the last day of his summer vacation. We were so impressed with this wonderful establishment. The owner, Sally, is a delightful hostess and has done an excellent job with all aspects of this business. The tea sandwiches were outstanding and so creative. A three tiered serving plate was artfully presented and all of the food was delectable. The homemade scones were among the best we have tasted and the desserts were extremely tasty and ample. It was a special treat to finally find a tea room that is opened on Sunday afternoon. I was also impressed with the inventory of gifts and teas. The merchandise is very reasonably priced and includes an extensive selection of tea, tea pots and tea cups, clothing and hats as well as other items. You must make the trip to this excellent tea room. We traveled from Marlborough, MA and are looking forward to our next trip. If you want a tea experience that includes excellent food as well as an accomodating hostess, you must visit the Tea Leaf. My husband has some dietary restrictions and the owner, Sally, asked me on the day I made the reservation if there were any dietary restrictions. This is very exceptional for any business. If you enjoy afternoon tea, you will love the Tea Leaf.

While visiting family in Boston (I live in Los Angeles) I booked reservations for a party of five for Afternoon Tea. I found the Proprietess very accommodating and knowledgable, and the young lady who served us(Janelle) was cheerful, attentive and eager to make everything about our experience lovely (which it was!) The food was great, as was the presentation. I especially recommend the Irish Breakfast and Earl Grey teas, along with the warm blueberry scones and Madeleines. When I visit Boston again, The Tea Leaf will definitely be on my itinerary!

I visited this Tea Room for my birthday, and was very disappointed in the 'Service'. The owner made it her goal to tell my group how to eat their afternoon tea refreshments properly, although clearly no one asked.
I was not there for a 'tea' lesson, nor was I there to talk to the owner. I was there to enjoy the company of my family / friends, but was forced to hear the history of afternoon tea, and was repeatedly told the proper order of the tea service, I found this extremely pompous.
Afternoon Tea should be a relaxing experience, and unfortunately, this day was not.

I've been meaning to write a review for the past few days and was sorry to see a few rather harsh reviews posted for The Tea Leaf. I have visited The Tea Leaf on two other occassions with coworkers and decided that it would be a lovely place to entertain my mother and future mother-in-law for Mother's Day weekend. We did make a reservation and it was a good thing. The Tea Leaf is usually very relaxed and quiet even when they are entertaining a few patrons. It certainly was a bit more crowded that usual and a little backed up, but in all fairness it is a quaint little tea roof that hasn't been opened a very long time and because it is typically such a nice experience it is easy to see why it was booked up for the holiday. We experienced a bit of a wait, but were seated within a few minutes and greeted by the owner. Despite how busy it was, it was very nice of her to come and visit with us even if just for a few moments. I know very few restaurants or business where the owner goes out of their way like that. My guest exjoyed their tea. We tried three different varieties of tea which were all delightful and served at a perfect temperature. The sandwiches were wonderful and plentiful. The deserts and scones were yummy. Additionally, the wait staff was especially kind to go out of their way to accomodate my nut allergy even though it was a very busy. Before we left, Sally, the owner greeted us again and did again apologize for the wait and 'crowd.' I certainly understood and was very happy with our service. Unlike other tea rooms I have been too, I always find The Tea Leaf to be relaxed and enjoyable. Others I have visited tend to be overpriced and 'stuffy.' Thank you Sally and staff for making my Mother's Day gather such an enjoyable and stress free experience. I look forward to visiting again and recommending The Tea Leaf to others.

I Have added a review before this but really wanted to apologize to my family for being lead to believe that this establishment was so highly rated..I talked to my sister after we both made comments and she was indeed more to the point of Our experience here.I would hope the owner will see the way we felt in our reviews..And I will never recommend her to anyone..Learn proper manners along with a Proper Afternoon Tea..

Iwas so looking forward to this event with my family. We got all together, drove an hour with reservations and felt most unwelcome as we walked in..it was very rude behavior on the proprioters end not to at least assure us they were running late and we would only have to wait a few min..They never even asked our names..I admit however the food was very good, presentation was nice and the tea was marvelous..

Having experienced high noon tea with my sisters in Yarmouthport earlier this year, we decided to take our mom to the #1 teahouse in Massachusetts on Mothers Day weekend for what we thought would be the ultimate tea experience. What a huge disappointment. Having read reviews of warm, friendly, and a very welcoming atmosphere we were taken aback when we were greeted with a very chilling 'Do you have reservations?' as the older woman walked away and disappeared in the back for 10 minutes. When she returned she asked if we had children, which it was obvious we did not. We found the tea and food to be average, nothing to warrant a #1 rating. The atmosphere was claustrophobic and cluttered. When my sister made the reservation she was told that each person would receive a carnation and another little surprise. It wssn't until we were in the parking lot that she remembered that we never received our flowers. We traveled two hours for the ultimate tea experience and had a better time once we got back to my sisters house and she brewed some tea we had purchased at The Tea Leaf. Sorry to say, don't waste your time on this venture. We would also like to know how/who rates these teahouses?

I have been to the Tea Leaf many times. I'm a British resident of Massachusetts, and it would be fair to say that the Tea Leaf provides a very authentic British afternoon tea. The owner, Sally, is always friendly and is very well-informed about local history and affairs. It's a great, restful place to go.

A few weeks ago I picked up my daughter who is a student at Brandeis and took her to tea at the Tea Leaf.We had a wonderful time. Sally is wonderful and very welcoming. The Tea Leaf itself is lovely. If you try the scones once you'll definately be back for more. They are warm, moist and fruity. Can't wait to return. You definately need to make reservations if you plan on having the full tea. Thank you Sally.

My daughter & I went to this very quaint tea shop a couple of Saturdays ago. Although the weather was awful, it was a very bad rain storm, we were warmly welcomed. There was a party and the place was full but we were properly cared for nonetheless. The hostess was very polite in spite of how busy they were. I had the soup & quiche and my daughter had soup and scones. The food was very tasty and the tea was just the thing for such an awful day. The shop was very cozy, very Victorian in style. There was much to look at as there is a large selection of teas & gifts for sale. I am looking forward to going back again soon!

The Tea Leaf is a very traditional Tea Room promoting a calm, serene environment that offers a visitor a delightful hour or two of sampling and tasting a variety of teas. The staff is always friendly and efficient, the food selection is homemade, varied and changing per season, and the scones, without a doubt, will bring you back!
Proprietor, Sally Collura, is always front and center, warmly greeting guests and making sure that everyone is having a good time. Sally is always willing to share her in-depth knowledge of tea and we always walk away knowing a little more about tea and tea traditions.
The Tea Leaf offers a wide variety of bagged and loose-leafed teas, tea pots, tea cups, tea cozies, and tea accessories for purchase, along with a fine line of Victorian products, clothes and purses, and a wide variety of tea books, fine writing papers and seals, and magazines. It's always fun to browse and poke around while that special pot of tea is brewing!
My friend Leslie and I visit the Tea Leaf as often as we can, to stop and step back in time a bit, and to relax and unwind after a busy week. We highly recommend The Tea Leaf and always look forward to our next visit!

I am very much appreciative of quality service, and my experience here is second to none. I am so glad I drove out to this beautiful town, with such a quaint and personable tea room! Sally. the owner, made sure that I learned of the town's history (she learned this was my first time in the area), 'must see and dine' spots and updated me on tea history. I had the quiche and soup combination with vanilla tea. It was all superb, perfect taste, temperature and flavor. Much appreciated on such a cold day (I am a Floridian)! This tea room had a large variety of loose leaf tea for purchase, magazines, teaware and other odds and ends. Great quick shopping and lunch opportunity. Thanks Sally for the fond memory! When in Central Florida, please let me take you to a tea room! I would love to return soon...

Our Femme Tea group held our monthly tea here in January and it was a real treat! There was only 2 people on staff that day and it was a busy Saturday afternoon, however, our tea hostess really did do a great job. I loved the atmosphere, the tea and the food and our group of 7 lingered quite a long time and no sense of being rushed at all.
I had the Afternoon Tea and it was delicious. Only two minor issues: the menue stated that Devonshire cream was served with the Afternoon Tea, but unfortunately it wasn't and one of the desserts a chocolate strawberry was frozen and made for a minor brain freeze. But really these issues were minor and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely tea house to any other loves of tea and all the accessories.

The tea leaf located in Waltham Mass is below average. For starters it took the waitress over 30 minutes to serve us our tea, never mind the food.I would understand if it was busy, but there was no excuse, we were the first ones seated. However, because I had not ordered the Afternoon tea in advance, I agreed to wait the 20 minutes or so for it to be prepared. Meanwhile I ate crumpets and soup. Which took another 15-20 minutes for that to be served. Lastly, after waiting for a total of one hour and forty-five minutes the waitress gave us the bill....No Afternoon tea I guess. Either she forgot or she did not want our business. I didn't even bother speaking up because it probably would have taken another hour. To say the least The Tea Leaf is by no means the number one tea room in Massachusetts. I would never expect the women who seemed to be the owner, to be so blatantly rude and neglectful to her customers, especially in the so called number one tea room. It was the first and without a doubt the last time I will be visiting the Tea Leaf.

I went for the first time recently with my mom who was feeling very tired and hungry and has chronic neck pain which was acting up the day we went to have lunch. After just a short time at the Tea Leaf my mom felt so much better and her pain eased enough for her to enjoy herself. I credit this to the very relaxing atmosphere, the good food and the friendly service by the hostess who, despite being out of cream cheese for the cucumber sandwiches my mom was hoping to have for lunch, made a fresh batch without us asking. She was super nice to me and my mom and I will certainly go back again

I thoroughly enjoyed THE TEA LEAF.
Whole loose tea was served: Harney & Sons was the brand. I had my favorite: Darjeeling, my Mother had Earl Grey.
I also purchased a 4 oz.tin of Decaffeinated Darjeeling which I like in the evening, as is very difficult to find.
We had the 3 course luncheon which was so good. Scones, mixed tea sandwiches, and a variety of desserts. The shop was so cute to look around at the items for sale, and also the victorian decor. The service was excellant. Even the softly playing music was relaxing. The price was very reasonable.
I will definately go again when I am up North.

The service was personal and gracious - we enjoyed talking to Sally. All the ladies enjoyed shopping among the charming items, and we bought a number of things to take home. We agreed it would not be long beofre we came back again!

I am very surprised of K. Marin's remark. I have been to the Tea Leaf a few times over the last year or so. The hostess/proprietress has been nothing but gracious to her guests. Maybe Marin doesn't like the food but that's a personal preference. I don't usually write public feedback but the truth ought to be told.

I gave this shop a second chance after a first bad experience. I will never return. The food was below par and the owner was rude! She thought she knew it all and told us so. Once we were done eatting she came out and without introducing herself she told us we had eaten incorrectly! We didn't complain but we couldn't have gotten out of there fast enough. We are both very experienced afternoon tea women and this was one of the worst experiences.

If you are a regular tea goer 'The Tea Leaf is a must.' You will your experience. The shop is quaint. The hospitatlty is superb and the food is scrumptious. It was truly a tea experience. If you are not a regular tea goer experiencing The Tea Leaf will be a delight. So you locals head on over and out of towners do the same (take a break from all the site seeing and have a tea experience). It was so enjoyable I tried to squeeze in another visit before returning to California but just couldn't due to time constraints. Sally best wishes and praying for years of success in this venture. Ladies let's do what we can to expose our girls to this culture.

What a very tasty little shop we found. My daughters surprised me for a Mother's Day outing to the Tea Leaf. We were greeted by friendly faces and delighted by the warm, hospitable service. The teas were outstanding, as well as the scones, sandwiches and desserts. It is worth the visit here. The owner & staff will make you feel comfortable & satisfied.

Twice we have taken the long Charles River walk from Cambridge to Waltham to visit The Tea Leaf. It is well worth a ten mile hike and we're eager to return for a third! The teas are excellent, the product selection marvelous and the ambiance is thoroughly charming! Proprietor Sally Collura and her cheerful staff have created a fantastic tea experience. Further, the value is excellent. A comparable tea in Boston will cost two or three times the price. I'm reminded of a wonderful small tea room that I visited while visiting the English Cotswolds. I'm thrilled to have found a comparable tea room that doesn't require a six hour flight! Bravo!

I absoulutely adore this place. The atmosphere is spectacular, very elegant but relaxed at the same time. The tea is AMAZING, and the service is impeccable. My friends and I go their often on Fridays to celebrate the weekend and we always look forward to it.

Charming Victorian decor; lovely place settings with different patterns on all cups, saucers, teapots, etc.; very pleasant and friendly service; good variety of food choices served prettily on lovely platters; and a very wide selection of wonderful teas. A nice surprise is that one may purchase Victorian style shawls, handbags, and other items such as teas, candies, gifts, and clothing. I've been there many times, each time with a different friend, and everyone has been very impressed. It's different--cozy and quiet and elegant without being stuffy--and a nice change from the dreariness of such places as Starbucks and the like. Great job, Sally.

My wife,my daughter and myself popped in on an early April afternoon and had a wonderful time.My daughter had sweet potato soup that she still raves about along with a tasty green tea. I had a lapsong, recommended by our server that had a wonderful smoky flavor and the BEST piece of gingerbread that I have ever eaten. It was a truly memorable experience!

Made return visit to a very favorite team room, The Tea Leaf. As with first visit, a pleasure from beginning to end.
Hostess/Owner and her staff are delightful in every way. Service impeccable; ambience authentic and fascinating - lovely background music, walls containing everything related to tea and much more. Select from long list of teas. Had 'complete' service. Tea served in lovely bone china. Excellent scones, fresh tea size sandwiches and wonderful desserts. Know we made a lasting impression on our hostess when we visited on 3/3 but she can write about that in her book. Three cheers for a great experience.

A wonderful dual birthday celebration for myself(50+) and a 6yr old. We were both thrilled with being made to feel truly special. The selection of teas is certainly generous and the sandwiches and sweets were yummy. An end of meal presentation of a small cake with a musical candle and a serenade by the servers completed our enjoyment. The atmosphere and decor of the tea room are warm, welcoming, and relaxing. We partied for over 2 hours. We will definitely be making many return visits to The Tea Leaf.

The most striking thing about 'The Tea Leaf' is the ambiance and the atmosphere, which you'll take in almost immediately upon entering the tea room. Its a combination of victorian-era and contemporary decor. The wait staff at this family-run business are pleasent and friendly. The sandwiches are prepared in-house - the one with the cranberry filling is amazing. Pastries seem to all have been pre-packaged. The floral teas were flavorful. There's much more to offer here besides tea, however. The walls of the room are lined with goodies to explore, nearly all of which are for sale. Non-tea items included vicorian dolls, handmade purses and classical artwork. An excellent afternoon for any tea lover or simply the romantic.

Took my sister for afternoon tea for her birthday on a Saturday afternoon. The place is nicely decorated, pretty cutlery, had a good feel to it - definitely felt we could sit there for a couple of hours and relax - had the English Breakfast tea which was a bit too strong, my sister had the Jasmine tea, which smelled amazing, but came out a bit watery and weak. Enjoyed the sandwiches, although they were a bit on the salty side; scones were good - you get a choice of either one big one (blueberry, cranberry, raisin) or two smaller ones (choc chip, orange / cranberry, cinnamon, etc). I went for a big cranberry scone and my sister went for two small orange cranberry scones. Hers were much tastier than mine. Good value - you get the whole shebang for $16 a person. Would definitely recommend. Will be going back soon!
