My best friend and I went here and had a wonderful time. We tried two of their house-blend teas, the Hampton Court (a Darjeeling and Assam blend) and Splendid Spice (black tea flavored with rose, cardamom, citrus, and almond). The Hampton Court tea was an exceptionally flavorful balance between fruity-floral and malty. I want to know how exactly they steeped it, because they did a better job of bringing out astringent compounds that enlivened the cup than I've yet managed in my own collection. The Splendid Spice was also a delight, with a rich, surprising flavor profile that complemented the base tea very well.
In addition to the tea, my friend and I split the most elaborate tea service Teaberry's offers on their menu, giving us a chance to sample a bit of everything they have to offer. All of the food was great, but I thought the sweets were only remarkable compared to the sheer perfection of the savories. I could have happily eaten an entire plate of their traditional cucumber finger sandwiches alone, and the curried cauliflower soup was outstanding. The scones and lemon curd are also worth a mention, and the passionfruit sorbet was a perfect palate cleanser at the end of a long and very leisurely meal.
Our husbands were so sad to miss out that we've promised to take them back with us next time. I'll be calling to make our reservation at least several days in advance, as they seem to fill up pretty quickly on the weekends.

I love this place! The tea is wonderful, the food is amazing and the service is perfect. I can't get enough. I've been here with just a friend or two and as part of a large party. I've gone in when they are at the height of the season and the they are slower. There's no wrong time for Teaberry's!

My favorite respite. I love everything about it. The mismatched china, the delicious tea sandwiches and quiche and the choice of over 100 teas. The service is excellent and the waiters all genteel. The atmosphere is everything a tea room should be. I have been going for over 10 years and travel an hour to get there.

Teaberry's is an excellent tea room situated in downtown Flemington. I have been going here since they were located down the street and their new location is larger but just as charming. John and I have celebrated many years of marriage the last was 56 years and Sara and the staff made it so special. I don't understand the negative reviews, very few , as you are never disappointed with food or service. If people want excellent service, 5 star menu and ambience don't expect diner prices. John and I travel over an hour to enjoy Teaberry's and it is totally worth the experience. Sara is a sweetheart and will go out of her way to please. You can never please everyone. There are those that look for negativity and create it if they can not find it. You will never be dissatisfied here as many of friends we recommended Teaberry's to were not. Flemington's Gem.

If you want the best afternoon tea in New Jersey, look no further than Teaberry's. I try to visit as many tea houses as I can, and when I made the discovery of Teaberry's last year I decided this was the perfect spot to celebrate my birthday with friends. They were so accommodating to me, and my 15 guests. The service was so friendly and attentive, yet we never felt rushed. In fact, we closed the place down, and they never made us feel like we were imposing. The food is just superb! There is such attention to detail in everything they made. The soups were spectacular. The salads plentiful and made with delicious ingredients. The variety of tea sandwiches from sweet to savory, make my mouth water at the memory of them. The scones were the perfect consistency, and served with all the right accoutrement. The desserts- heavenly. Of course, the tea selection does not disappoint, either. I tried a little bit of everyone's and there was not one that wasn't delicious. All of this in a beautifully appointed victorian house with decor that is quaint, homey, and dazzling, all at the same time. Thank you Teaberry's, for making my birthday celebration so wonderful!

I attended a special event sponsored by the Hunterdon County NJ Tricentennial celebration. We had a three course tea that included individual small tea sandwiches, a scone, and trifle and assorted Christmas cookies. We were also offered the House Blend Tea or Apricot Decaffeinated Tea, served to us from pots. I tried both teas and preferred the Apricot. The decorations and atmosphere are very beautiful. The table settings are very attractive, including fresh flowers on each table. We were told to dress in Victorian clothes with hats and it was very festive. The service was very nice and I was made to feel welcome. The only thing that was somewhat disappointing was that the tea served was not hot. Of the several cups I drank, only one was steaming hot - the rest were at best lukewarm. This was somewhat disappointing as this is, after all, a Tea House. In addition to the the tea cozies, I would like to suggest that the pots of tea be kept hotter on a warming device (there are such devices that you do not damage China). I am a person who likes to drink HOT teat. I did have a good time and was glad that I attended the event.

I surprised my grandmother with Afternoon tea here some time ago! She adored it! It's all she talks about still to this day.
The atmosphere was quaint and out waitress was cheery and accommodating.
I have a few planned trips in the near future with my Grandmother again and some friends. I can't wait!

Oops... was I supposed to drink tea?
Well, The coffee was great! Food, service, great. And a nice mellow atmosphere. They have a large gift shop and this is a good place to buy tea. I live some distance away so I stock up on cinnamon delight tea when ever I stop by. You will enjoy this place.

My girlfriend and I come to Teaberry's for our birthdays and we have never been disappointed. So when I wanted a really nice place for my daughter's bridal tea for 30 women this November, I headed straight there. Sara helped me ahead of time. She answered all my questions, allowed me a little flexibility and helped to get everything in order. On the day of the event the staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The flowers on the table were lovely, they did an excellent job serving my toast and they helped me to keep things moving. Service was impeccable, even though they had a full house, upstairs and down. The room itself is decorated exquisitely, the food is excellent and because of the staff, the day went perfectly. My guests are asking for an anniversary party at Teaberry's!

On Friday July 5th my Mom, my Aunt and myself went to Teaberrys for the 1st time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had the High Tea and it was excellent. Food, tea was very good. The service was excellent. Our server was so nice and very patient with us. She explained everything to us and this restaurant made our day so nice. The atmosphere was very nice. We went to the Carriage Shop and bought a couple of bags of tea. We will definetly be back. I told my cousin about this Tea Room and she wants to celebrate her birthday here. My supervisor recommended this Tea Room to me. She and her daughter eat here often. Ladies when you want to treat yourself to something special eat at Teaberrys.

My sisters and I recently got together for a mini family reunion and chose Teaberry’s Tea Room. Great choice. I flew in from out of state and this was my very first visit to the tea room. Wonderful experience. We were able to have the Miss Teaberry Room for ourselves.
Loved selecting my hat for the occasion from the tub full of hats. Every taste of the lobster bisque soup was delicious. The crab cakes are the best! We enjoyed the Emerald Spice tea (yes, several pots) so much that I purchased a bag at the Carriage House gift shop. Also purchased a bar of Paris Bouquet shea butter soap as well as a hat.
Our waitress, Janice, could almost read my mind as to what I would like to try. Amazing. Sara Peterson guided us and was very attentive making sure our visit was memorable.
Looking forward to our next reunion at Teaberry’s.

We first went to Teaberry`s when they were at their former location. Since they have moved to their present location, the prices have gone up, and the service has gone down. We won`t be going there anymore.

My 3 sisters and I enjoyed a delightful afternoon lunch at Teaberry's. The upstairs bathtub is 'overflowing' with hats that you can choose to wear to enhance the experience. WHAT GREAT FUN we had selecting.. and took photos. We dined on the most delicious FRESH crab cakes we ever tasted and the BEST Lobster Bisque Soup. A bowl is a large portion, cup is great size to accompany your meal. The Emerald tea, I think #49 on menu was an amazing surprise, Janice, our server, highly recommended this blend. Several Iced Teas were available also. Yes, we had to try the desserts too. Toffee Pudding Date cake with ice cream...was my choice, YUM, double YUM. Ambiance is amazing, each room decorated exquisitely, there is a 'London' and 'Paris' room too. If the QUEEN OF ENGLAND ever visited New Jersey, this should be #1 on her list...but let's not tell her, lest we 'Commoners' not be able to enjoy getting a reservation and being treated like a queen. Of course, we visited the adjacent Teaberry's CARRIAGE GIFT HOUSE before leaving and purchased some of our favorite teas to bring home. What a huge selection of exquisite gifts, I also purchased imported french decorative shea butter-soaps, earrings, decorative tea cozy. One of their PORCH SALES is scheduled soon. We are returning for that. Yes, we enjoyed the Teaberry experience immensely, from the moment of being greeted warmly by Sara Peterson and the wonderful pampering staff. Teaberry's is the perfect gift for Mom, Sister, Wife, etc... (Hint to my husband)
Remember..let's keep this a secret from the QUEEN!!!

This is one of my favorite places to visit whenever im in the area, either for lunch or just tea and scones, they are so consistent with the quality of food they serve. Plus the ambiance and decor are worth the long drive. Great service too! I highly recommend their quiche, the best in New Jersey!

I had the privilege of having Teaberry's cater an afternoon ladies tea in my home. It was absolutely wonderful. Susan and her staff were exceptional. The food, teas, presentation and service were beyond outstanding. Teaberry's is my favorite place to enjoy a lovely, relaxing afternoon where it seems you step back to a time when elegance and etiquette matter and this was brought into my home. I HIGHLY recommend Teaberry's for any special event, Susan and her staff never disappoint.

I had the Queen's Tea and it was worthy of its name. In additon to the tea, scone, and dessert selection, I also got a delicious suop and an excellent salad. I left feeling I had eaten a large meal. Our server graciously boxed up what we were not able to eat. The atmosphere was very Victorian, with lovely tea pots and cups on display. The house itslef is beautifully maintained. It is easy to feel you are having tea in the late 1800's. I can't wait to go back!

My mother, sisters and I visited Teaberry's yesterday to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere at Teaberry's is fabulous. It is in a beautiful old house that has been very well cared for. The building itself is just lovely and it is expertly decorated. We enjoyed celebrating in a private room on the second floor. Our server, Sarah, was very nice and had vast knowledge about tea. You could tell that she really enjoyed being in this business. Everything was expertly prepared and presented.

I can't say enough good things about Teaberry's. We went to celebrate a birthday and our server, Sarah, really knocked herself out. The tea is to die for-more varieties than you can ever imagine. The scone were fresh and hot from the oven and served with clotted cream, lemon curd and jam-just scrumptious! The sandwiches were all fresh and there was enough variety to please everyone several times over. And the desserts were as pretty as they were delicious. This is a GREAT place. The staff are all so friendly and anything we asked for was delivered with a smile. You won't leave hungry or disappointed.

I don't usually write reviews, but it would be a crime not to acknowledge what a special place Teaberry's is! I walked through the doors of a stunning Victorian home and landed right in the middle of a fairy tale. Every room is perfectly decorated and unique, unlike anything I've ever seen. When I was seated at my table, I immediately took notice of the ornate sugar cubes in the shapes and colors of leaves for the fall season.
The menu is another phenomenon, filled with an endless assortment of teas, salads, sandwiches, soups, platters, and desserts. I had a cup of the carrot ginger soup, and their signature windsor pear salad which were both delicious. It is obvious that everything is made fresh with top quality ingredients. My father had the crab cakes which he said were the best he's ever had. I can't even go into detail about the dessert because it just makes me sad that I'm not still eating it!
What really put the icing on the cake for me though was the service. All of the waitresses seemed lovely, but if you have the opportunity to request Janice as your server, do it! She made us feel right at home, talked us through the menu so we could find exactly what we wanted, and accommodated us with a genuine smile. You can tell she really enjoys what she does.
I highly recommend Teaberry's to anyone and everyone. It's the PERFECT place for a mother's day brunch, bridal/baby shower, or little girl's birthday party. Even my dad enjoyed it, coming from a man who felt a little out of place before the experience. Take a strangers word and try this place out, you won't be disappointed.

Our teatime at Teaberry's was above and beyond! We loved the fact that the scones are served warm with unlimited clotted cream. The tea sandwiches were a creative assortment as well as the desserts. Everything was fresh as can be and the lavender shortbread is awesome. I bought more to take home with me. Our server, Maggie, made sure we had absolutely everything we needed when we needed it. This place is charming and the gift shop is filled with beautiful items. We stayed an entire afternoon - never rushed a bit- and already we want to return. Do not miss this sweet tea room - it'll become your favorite too.

I can not imagine that any tearoom could be better than Teaberry's. It is my favorite place to go. Teaberry's is a perfect blend of atmosphere, food, and wait staff. I love to bring friends and relatives for special occasions. Everyone I bring is so impressed and excited to bring their friends back. The food is made from fresh ingredients and is artfully displayed. They have a variety of soups everyday; an extensive list of salads and sandwiches; and, if you choose the afternoon tea sandwiches they are different everyday. My favorite is their scones - they are the best. Teaberry's offers so many teas there is a separate menu for them.
If you want to be spoiled, you owe yourself to go to Teaberrys. They have their own parking lot and an adorable carriage house gift shop.
Teaberry's is the perfect Tearoom.

I have never felt more comfortable or at home than at Teaberry's, sipping their delicious teas and munching on glorious food. The wait staff is the best, and Susan, the owner, is hands on at all times. I have always felt pampered and as though I were their top customer. I go often and stay long. Thank you Teaberry's, for making me feel so special. Carol Bonafide

Teaberrys is simple the best tea house I have ever been to. The atmosphere is charming, the food absolutely delicious and the tea selection plentiful. I have been there many times and have always had a pleasant experience. Two years ago I threw my sisters 50 th birthday party. Her and her guests loved it! I have also enjoyed the Alice in Wonderland and Halloween tea events. Both were festive and fun. I would recommend this tea shop to anyone. Make reservations because it is very popular and don't forget to check out the charming gift shop.
Sincerely, Kelly

If you want to feel like royalty..... go visit Teaberry's Tea Room. The food is tasty and the owner Susan is very gracious and caring. I have to say that this is my favorite tea house in all of NJ and many great memories were created there. You just have to go there yourself and experience the charm. The whole family just loves Teaberry's!

Joined two other ladies for lunch yesterday; we had a wonderful time. Teaberry's is beautifully decorated in a warm holiday theme. The service was outstanding. Our server, a young college student, Sydney, was charming, informative, and very helpful. We were not rushed despite the establishment being at full capacity. The sandwiches were delicious and very generous in portion. The chocolate/cherry tea was a real treat! All in all it was a very memorable afternoon. This will certainly be a favored meeting place! Teaberry's is Number 1 in this state for a reason .. It is truly The Best! The sandwiches were absolutely the most delicious I have ever had with the most extraordinary fillings. Toughest decision …which flavor of Scone to have. So much food .. I ended up bringing my pastries home to enjoy. Janice & Kelly took excellent care of our large group of women. We look forward to coming again and soon! Susan you have a gem of a Tearoom and such a success story .. All the best to you and the entire Teaberry’s family.

My Mum was a very proper English Lady with a twinkle in her eye and a great sense of humor. We always joked that the Irish have a wake, so the English should have a tea. We even playfully planned it!
Six months after my Mum passed away Susan and her wonderful staff helped me have that Memorial Tea honoring my Mum with 50+ of her nearest and dearest.
From the choice of rooms to the linens to the arrangements to the menu (Milady teas with all of Mum's favorites) everything was as we would want it. The food, as always, was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. They even boxed up additional 'teas' for friends who couldn't attend. The staff was friendly and attentive.
I had taken my Mum to have tea at Teaberry's 2 years before, because it was rated #1 in NJ, and she had enjoyed it so much. It seemed natural to have the celebration of her life there. It was a joyous event for all.
I deeply appreciate all of the kindness Susan and her staff showed me and my Father as we went through such a difficult time in our lives. They helped me keep a promise I had made to my Mum come true. I will always appreciate that.
I would urge anyone planning any kind of event to think of Teaberry's as the perfect setting for their event.

Owner of this Tea Room was very rude. We arrived for our reservation, which was a luncheon for my daughters 2nd child. Not a baby shower. 8 adults and 2 children. We all brought gifts for the new Mommy. The owner approched us and berated us for 2 balloons on the table and gifts which we brought. There was conversation in the hallway about us and how we did not want to spend additional money for rental of a private room.
I have been to this TeaRoom many times and willno longer recommend you to any of my family or friends.
I think you need to distinquish the difference between a gathering of family and friends and a typical shower.

The food and setting of Teaberry's is simply superb, however this fact is overshadowed by the poor service that is sometimes offered there. As a frequent return visitor I have encountered many waitresses at Teaberry's, some charming and accommodating and others that are not. I have found in my experience that the younger waitresses offer the better service at Teaberry's. As a waitress myself I understand that things can sometimes be a little hectic and I am forgiving of that. But upon being seated in the tiniest little corner of the tearoom (in an otherwise empty room), my guest and I had to wait for over twenty minutes before a server even came over to ask us for our drink order. And I understand that things can slip through the cracks, but to see guests arrive after our party did and to be seated/served immediately was rather unforgivable. Especially when I noticed that the waitress that was intended to be our waitress was serving another table that had arrived AFTER ours did. Once the waitress finally did come over she asked for our drink order which we gave and told her that we would also like to put in our order for lunch as well. The woman simply stared at us for a moment as if this was a confounding idea. Finally she said 'well I suppose that would be okay' before she took our orders. (Now this is where my waitressing background leads to an unforgiving nature). As my guest and I told the waitress what it is we would like to have for lunch, she basically needed us to repeat ourselves (each) twice before she took down the order. And once she heard our orders she hovered over our table for a good minute longer as if she were writing out each individual letter to everything we said to her. And what baffles me is that after she wrote down the order (in what appeared to be great detail) she addressed me with questions for the order that my guest had JUST placed. Both were very simple orders, the pear salad and a cup of the special soup, and a garden salad with a bowl of the lobster bisque. So eventually we come to the eating portion of the meal which was fabulous taste wise and ok service wise (even though our waitress brought a few types of dressings with her because she could not remember what type we had asked for.) During the meal I had finished my drink (a lemonade) and after a while of it siting there the waitress came over and asked if I would like another one, to which I said 'no thank you'. What I will never understand is her response of 'Oh well I'll just leave that there for you then' (the empty lemonade glass). The table was a quaint size to begin with and having unnecessary glasses take up space on the table was just silly. So finally we finish our lunch and our waitress comes over to ask us 'would we like to see the dessert menu', to which I reply 'no thank you we already know what we would like to order for dessert.' And again she baffles me by saying, 'well i'm going to give it to you anyway' and disappears to get menus. And once we had the menus, she disappeared again for quite some time. When she finally did come back we had to place our dessert orders to go because we simply could not take the service anymore. So what can be learned from this experience?
Teaberry's has a fabulous setting filled with amazing food, that is just delivered poorly. I say go to Teaberry's, just hope for a younger waitress!

There is a reason that this is the NJ's #1 rated Tea Room. Elegance, superior service, outstanding gourmet offerings, absolute commitment to excellence by owner Susan Peterson to name a few of the reasons. I'm a big fan of the Irish Breakfast Tea. The lemon tart is just the right mix of tart and sweet. All of the soups are fabulous especially their cream of mushroom. There really isn't a thing on their menu you could go wrong with. The atmosphere is relaxing, beautiful with all the trimmings of a proper English tea. Lace, linen, silver, crystal and china in a beautiful, clean and sunny yellow backdrop. Pleasantly formal but never stuffy. Be pampered, be delighted. Visit Teaberrys. Worth the trip from anywhere

This tearoom is definitely rated number 1 in New Jersey for a reason! Not only were the waitstaff and owner lovely, but the food was wonderful as was the entire experience. Every last detail was perfect. They were also extremely accomodating to my children. Some tearooms make you feel as if you shouldn't bring children. Not the case here. They even supplied my daughter with a doll to have tea with since we had forgotten ours! Will definitely be back!

I recently had lunch with 2 friends @ Teaberrys...it was delightful...the soup was Awesome as was everything else!!! Our server was delightful...the owner strolled by our table and asked how everything was....and yes, it was a busy lunch time...I will return again when ever I get the chance...not my first visit, won't be my last!!! ***** 5 stars overall

The food when it finally arrived was delicious. The tea was tasty, however two small pots of tea did not hold the 5 of us for the 70 minutes we waited for our food. I am extremely disappointed in the service. I'd heard great things and even saw great service around our table on a busy afternoon. Our server was pretty much absent and non-apologetic even when we pointed out the service was slow. When I asked to speak to the manager she emerged from the kitchen area sans smile and seemingly insipid in character. I stated my displeasure in the service with the intent that she would take note and reassure me her servers will refill water glasses when emptied, offer tea when food is delayed. She instead berated me on what did I want from her at this point? The restaurant was busy and I was the only table to complain she reported to me. I fault the manager ultimately for putting me, the customer on the defensive when I approached her pleasantly wanting just to give feedback on our first visit to her establishment. Her answer was to echo back to me what she thought I was trying to say ' in other words you felt ignored?'. She then suggested I should have complained earlier so that she could 'comp' a pot of tea. In the most unprofessional manner she closed the conversation with not one indication that she appreciated our business or was sorry we felt ignored but reached out to the waitress in a near embrace. Clearly there are deeper issues with the woman. I will pray she is moved to be kind and pleasant with all of her customers. I paid $60.99 for 3 sandwiches, 2 small pots of tea and 2 cups of soup. And tipped the waitress $7.00. And left incredibly embarrassed for taking family to a restuarant managed by a very unkind person. The waitress had a tough day and I would have her serve me again in a better managed establishment.

I visited for the second time and was again charmed by the beautiful ambiance of this tearoom. My friend and I had the afternoon tea, I believe it was the Duchess Tea, and the soups were wonderful, as were the tea sandwiches. I do feel, however, that in this setting, the elegant 3-tiered servers would have added alot to the presentation. The scones were a bit of a disappointment; rather dry and hard and tasteless. The desserts and the teas themselves were very enjoyable. I will visit again, but will try the lunch menu next time...I think the afternoon tea price exceeds the experience.
I also will not agree to be seated upstairs again in the future. The rooms are also lovely, but we ended up being the only patrons up there as the lunch crowd thinned out, and felt a bit neglected, with very long periods of time between our courses. Our afternoon tea began at 12:30pm, and by 4pm we had not yet been served our dessert course. Our tea by then was quite cool, and we really had to be on our way, so had most of our desserts boxed. Our server was delightful, but very busy downstairs and had to keep running up to us periodically.

Last night a friend and I attended Teaberry's Witch's Dinner event for Halloween. Just about every woman came in witch costume. The tearooms were woderfully decorated for Halloween. What fun we had! The dinner was amazing.. the night included a full-course meal with fabulous short-ribs and dessert to die for. Susan was the most gracious hostess, and her staff was professional, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. I am almost regretting writing this, because I hate to let the cat out of the bag... I may not be able to get a reservation for another amazing event in the future!

I drove all the way from NYC to test out this tempting tea-room. Teaberrys has been on my to-do list for quite sometime and I'm glad I finally had the chance to do. Teaberrys did not dissapoint, from the Victorian costumes to decor it was a thoroughlt authentic experience, 5 stars. The tea and food was stellar

My family took me to Teaberry's for a surprise birthday luncheon and everything was perfect! I had heard how good it was but never expected everything they provided. The decor is eclectic, elegant, and very comfortable and our server Marlene could not have been more lovely. The food was delicious-each and every bite. It was a special day I will not soon forget it! Thank you Teaberry's.

I visited Teaberry's for a small tea party with my family and we were floored by the whole experience. The teas, the food, dessert were absolutely wonderful. The only bad part is that we live an hour away. I would definitely recommend Teaberry's if you love tea and great food. I can't wait to go back again!

Teaberry's is my favorite! I bring my husband and all of my lady friends on a regular basis - and we enjoy ourselves a great deal. The food is dynamite and the staff, including the devoted owner, are very kind and accommodating. To go to a gorgeous victorian home and eat fresh, delicious food and be treated like a lady is a beautiful thing. I will continue to be a loyal customer for those reasons. If you haven't been- do try! Thank you Teaberry's!

Disappointed tea experience
I have to agree with one of the previous reviews. It would appear that some of these reviews are 'too good to be true'. The owner is not friendly at all. I have been here a couple of times and get the feeling that Susan is doing me a favor. Also since Teaberry's have moved I do not believe them to be a rearoom but rather a full service restaurant, If you want a wonderful tea experience then visit Yardley in PA.

Like Robbin B, I have been to a number of tea rooms in the Northeastern US and also in Europe, and I have hosted numerous tea parties for the past 15 years. Teaberry's is absolutely wonderful. It doesn't get much better than this. Each of the eight tiny desserts was exquisite, as were the fabulous tea sandwiches. In short, every bite was perfection. The service was excellent, the setting was lovely, and the tea selection was impressive. I enjoyed strolling through the tea shops afterward. All in all I had a very elegant, relaxing afternoon and can't wait to return. True, afternoon tea here is expensive compared to some of the other New Jersey tea rooms; however, the quality, presentation, and inventiveness of the food--together with the fine service and ambience--is well worth the price. It should be noted that there is no pleasing some folks! They are entitled to their opinions, to be sure--so long as they are honest and candid--but I suspect that if they had tea with the Queen of England they would find something wrong, so their reviews should be read with an open mind. The overwhelming majority of reviews for Teaberry’s have been very favorable. Because of those reviews, I was eager to check out this tea room myself, and I am happy to add my positive feedback here.

A visit to Teaberry's is always such a pleasant experience. Susan and her staff go out of their way to make sure your time spent there is memorable! Lovely decor, delicious food, attentive service, and a large tea selection prepared and served the right way, is why Teaberry's is so successful. This establishment can't be beat!

What a remarkable tea room this is! I made my first trip to Teaberry's just the other day and I was blown away. Everything I had was fresh and delicious and to say the place is gorgeous is an understatement. My waitress was a pleasure and so attentive. My friend and I felt like such ladies! Thank you Teaberry's and see you again very soon!

I went to Teaberry's for lunch with a friend and let me tell you it was an unpleasant experience. The service was poor and the owner was extremely rude. The food is overpriced, over all it was a bad experience. I wasn't intending to give a review, but I got up early to look at restaurants to set a lunch date with my friends (Teaberry's taught me a lesson). I came across Teaberry's and I was baffled to find 'positive' reviews. Either these reviews are lies or as Clair stated 'I smell a rat!'. Julia & 'Belittled' I completed understand how you feel, I too was belittled in front of my friend. Susan needs a lesson on etiquette.

I just wanted to say thank you again for making our visit to Teaberry's so special. Whether it's a birthday to celebrate or just the need to catch up, my friends and I always choose Teaberry's. Your new home is just breathtakingly beautiful and what I imagine a tea house should be. We always leave feeling very relaxed and satisfied.
I was surprised to read the review by Julia, expressing her disappointment with Teaberry's. What I found disappointing was her comment 'Lets be honest, the most boring and tedious part of any shower is opening the gifts.' To me that's what a shower is all about, giving to the new mom and baby.

My sister-in-law and I wanted to have a Tea Party theme for my baby shower we are planning. We found Teaberry's online and we both fell in love - my brother-in-law offered to cover the cost.
Thrilled, I called Teaberry's immediately to get some more info regarding prices etc. I talked to Sarah - very polite and helpful - and she told me they could accommodate our needs. We were expecting a party of 20 and hoped to keep the price per person under $20.
UNFORTUNATELY...My sister-in-law and I were greatly disappointed when we visited Teaberry's today. Forget trying to host a party on a budget!
We were hoping to rent the Garden Room for $60 an hour. Teaberry's recommends 3 hours for a Baby Shower. We weren't planning on opening presents during the shower (let's be honest, the most boring and tedious part of ANY sort of shower), instead displaying them on a table. Because of this we would only need 2 hours, however, Susan insisted we would have to use the next bigger room so there would be space for a display table (understandable, however, now $85 an hour).
I won't even get into our battle for an affordable menu. Impossible.
Both my sister in law and I felt that Susan was rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to work with our needs. Instead of trying to bring the price to $20/person, she blatantly told us 'this isn't the place for you'.
WE WERE APPALLED! If our server wasn't so sweet and helpful, and if I acted the way I felt, I would have thrown my water at this woman and walked out.
Susan made us look like poor fools in front of her other customers. Everyone else stopped eating and chatting to hear this woman belittle us (yes, I looked around and everyone was literally staring at us).
Long story short, if we want to have the beautiful baby shower we are hoping for, we were looking at $28 per person for afternoon tea (20ppl =$560), $85 per hour for the room (3 hours = $255)...that's $815 without tax or gratuity. For a BABY SHOWER?! No way would I ask my brother in law to foot that bill.
Let's be fair folks. We're sitting in an economic crisis. Why wouldn't a 'lovely' business such as Teaberry's at least TRY to be a bit more accommodating for a party and not so dismissive?
Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere and we will be sure to share our unfortunate experience with our friends, family and co-workers.
Somehow, stuffy businesses thrive on poor customer service...but not for long.

From the moment you step through the doors, you are transported back to the Victorian Era. Teaberry's is as cozy as spending the afternoon at a family member or good friend's home. The entire place is immaculate and there is just a warm feeling about the entire place, which makes you feel at ease and taken care of. I have been to Teaberry's several times and have never been disappointed. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable and are always smiling. The tea is the best I've ever had and it complemented by cute heart-shaped sugar cubes. The food is flavorful and innovative. If you are ever in the area, you should definitely stop there. You certainly will not be disappointed!

We hosted a bridal shower at Teaberry's. The bride was absolutely thrilled. BUT I WOULD CAUTION AGAINST HOSTING AN EVENT THERE - THE OWNER WAS RUDE AND COOL IN HER RECEPTION. She had an issue with us, but chose to give us the cold shoulder rather than discussing it professionally. I would agree with what everyone else's opinion about the place - it is an absolute gem.

Went in today around two o'clock for a late lunch. The lobster bisque was wonderful as well as the turkey sandwich with apple. Yum! Our charming waitress, Maggie, gave us a great suggestion for tea since the two of us are not avid tea drinkers. We had the great, 'Vanilla Cookie' tea; loved it!!! What great atmosphere, tea and food paired with wonderful service. Can't wait to go back!

Imagine grandmothers house, with a charming wait-staff & posh giftshop. That's this place. My party chose the Kyoto and 'Pomnilla' with black currant scones as we settled into the comfy victorian atmosphere. After what seemed like a bottomless pot and more than a few scones.. I still managed to DEVOUR a Newburg crepe, TOP NOTCH.

I attended my first Witches Womans Night. My daughter took me with her friends....it was a great time and the food was wonderful...I had the most delicious sea scallops with mixed roasted potatoes and green bears and a marvelous pear tart served hot with ginger gelato on top..we also had a cider spiced Served in martini glasses..tea and the most wonderful salad..she does have the best salads along with everthing else..the place was tastefully decorated for Halloween not overdone. Also had a pot of apple orchard tea ..delicious..as always Susan and her staff are the best... can't wait to go back..thank you Susan.. I can see why you're number 1 !!!!! I have read reviews here and I think whoever Claire is she should know what she's talking about or at least try a tearoom before she says anything negative..it's obvious she has never been to Teaberry's...She should look at Victorian magazine where they ranked Teaberry's number 3 in the entire country!!!!!!!!!! She deserves her number 1 ranking!!!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of visiting Teaberry's for the first time. It was delightful to say the least. My vanilla cookie tea was the best. Lunch was excellent, I had a sandwich and a maple pecan scone. The lobster bisque was rich and left me wanting more, my waistline made me stop. I can't wait to introduce my friends and especially my daughters to a place where we are pampered while we catch up with each others lives.

My sister and I had such a wonderful time this past Saturday. The food was excellent. Our server was the best. We were there for over 2 hours and did not feel rushed and just enjoyed the whole experience. The atmosphere was so beautiful and made you feel so welcomed. This was the 3rd tea room I have been at and by far, the Best!!! I can't wait to go again.

It's bigger, it's better -- it's back!
Teaberrys on 2 Main could only be described as the crown jewel of Flemington. Or maybe it's more like a time-machine: step inside and you're beamed back to the Victorian era for a great meal or tea... or both. I've brought my nieces for Alice in Wonderland parties and gone with friends before but decided to treat myself yesterday. It was day one for the new location and they only offered afternoon tea. I LOVED the lavender shortbread and the caramel scones!

My daughter and I love this place. Teas and food are excellent.Events throughout the year are fantistic. We go as often as we can. The entire staff is beyond words. Holiday teas are entertaining and well planned. Everythig is always fresh and made to order and the variety of teas that are offered would please the toughest critic. The ambiance is so magical. I am already planning for their reopening. Wishing you best of luck in your new establishment.

I stopped in yesterday to shop in Teaberry's beautiful gift shop and was reminded again why I love this team room. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and the sandwich I ordered to go was the best I've ever had! If you haven't already, try their turkey and bacon with chai apple Butter and granny smith apples; so scrumptious!

I think this tea room is the most elegant tea room in NJ. It is cozy too, the food is excellent, and the tea preparations are just what they should be. I love the theme teas with Eliza...the Dickens and the Victorian shows...The Halloween/Poe reading was fun! I hope there will be more soon.

What a treat! The food was creative and delicious. I had a carrot- ginger soup with coconut milk. The tea list was extensive and the tea was prepared well. They have black teas, flavored teas, green etc..I ordered the Garden Earl Grey which was served in a teapot with a tea cozy around it to keep the tea hot.The Victorian decor is beautiful as is their collection of teapots and cups. The staff could not be more attentive or professional. This place is a keeper for us!!!

It was my Birthday and I wanted to celebrate at Teaberrys in Flemington. I was looking forward to the Windsor salad but upon hearing about their 'special', I chose to be a little more adventuresome. I enjoyed the Berry Berry salad. The plate was chock full of delightful blueberries, strawberries, mulberries, greens, cheese, pecans and chicken It was AWESOME. My tea selection was the Godiva Chocolate. My husband enjoyed a hearty chicken salad sandwich on rye and a cup of the famous bisque soup. Dessert was chocolate brownie for him and Carrot Cake for me. Our waitress Diane was exceptional to our needs. The proprietress, Susan Peterson, sees to each fine detail. She is warm, friendly and runs a jewel of an establishment. HUSBANDS, LISTEN UP. If it is your wife's birthday or your anniversary (if you want your actions to speak louder than words) this is the combined GIFT of romance and fine dining that will make memories. Did I mention there is a little gift shop too. Exquisite!

I have been to Teaberry's many times and actually enjoy not being rushed! Where else can you go and see such care in everything they do? The special events are well done to say the least and the Dickens Tea was totally awesome! Keep up the high standards-we do appreciate you very much ladies.

Teaberry's is a dream!! Their quiche is out of this world, and every tea that I have tried is perfect. I have brought many of my family and friends here to spend a leisurely afternoon. I also hop over to Teaberry's whenever I seek a special gift for a friend because their boutique is adorable. With that all said, I simply have to comment on the previous review. Susan, the owner of Teaberry's, is gracious and warm. I can't imagine that anyone would say such things about a lady who clearly cares very much for her customers and her business. Myself along with several other customers whom I know, enjoy not only the delicacies served at Teaberry's but also the conversation and company of the staff.

Just Me
I have been to this tea room on many occassions. I have to say that on many occassions I have wanted to post here, but it wasn't until my last experience that I decided to vent. The owner is Susan, and to say she is cold towards most guest is an understatement. Yes, the service is slow, but the girls are very pleasant and if you want good food (ususally great food) fast, this isn't the place to be. Tea rooms allow guest to sip their tea and take their time, so TGI Friday's is better if you want fast service. The only real complaint I have is Susan. She seems cold to most people, which is a turn off. She can be pleasant to others at times, but in general, or overall, she really seems to either care less that you're patronizing her establishment or is painfully shy. I once told her how much I loved her tea room and had nothing but raves for it. She seemed to not even hear me. So, I stated who I was and how often I had come here and she told me 'I know who you are' and walked away. I'm not famous, nor am I anyone she would know other than to come into the tea room. If I were the only one she spoke to like that, I would take a hint. Needless to say, there are several other tea rooms to patronize and that's just what my lady friends and I will do.

Trudged in on a cold winter's day. No reservation and a packed house but the hostess found me a cozy little nook where I promptly was served a steamy New Delhi Chai. The curried parsnip soup and salad special were outrageous! Even though they were swamped I felt well taken care of; leaving very satisfied.

I was surprised to read all of the great reviews for this tea room. I came on a Sunday afternoon with my mother after shopping in Flemington and recieved extremely poor service. I have been to many tea rooms before and I do realize the time that it takes to prepare an actual tea service so I was also taking that into consideration during my lunch. We both ordered tea which took quite some time to actually arrive to the table. Usually a very patient diner I didn't mind this. However, noticing that it was really not that busy and that there were plenty of service people staffed I became more disturbed by the incrementally increasing amount of time it took for our order to be taken and then for our food to actually come. Still patient and curious to satisfy a sweet tooth we asked to see a dessert menu. After having decided which desserts we would order our service person did not come back to the table. After twenty minutes had passed my mother went to ask for the check, which in turn took about another twenty minutes to get taken care of. The food was OK and the dessert...well I never got to taste it so I can't say. It's a shame to go to what is ranked as being the number one tea room in NJ and be so dissapointed. Bad service can ruin an entire experience.

After visiting several tea rooms all over the country, I was very excited to finally visit Teaberry's. I visited Teaberry's on a Saturday afternoon and had called to make a reservation a couple of weeks ahead of time. I requested an early afternoon tea reservation for noon. We arrived at 11:55am, and were quickly seated in a back room with only two tables. One table was a large table with a large party seated at it, and the other table was a very small table for two tucked against the wall. This wasn't the most ideal situation as we felt we were almost intruding on this private party. There were several other tables open which we would had much rather preferred to sit at, but I didn't say anything and just made the best of it. We were handed lunch menu's and as soon as our Nippy attended to us, I explained I had a made the reservation for afternoon tea. At that point she brought back our menu's and said to us....' The Hostess wants you to know that you have to hurry if your having afternoon tea'. I said, 'What are you talking about, I have to hurry? I made a 12pm reservation, and now I have to hurry?' This was an immediate turn off. I said, how long do I have or should I just leave now? Needless to say my entire tea wasn't as enjoyable after this rude comment was made. The nippy returned and explained we had until 2pm but we would need be done by 1:45pm. First of all, In no way would I ever expect to be told to hurry! I understand there are reservation made, and we would never stay past a 2 hour period, but being told the second we were handed menus to hurry- was downright rude. I will not be going back to teaberry's after this experience and look foward to visiting other tea rooms. I suggest the owner teach her staff a polite way to tell patrons that they have a 2 hour time block. Maybe even put that on her website or post it, but not tell customers-'The hostess told me you have to hurry' Sorry but this ruined my experience. The food was ok, the tea I had was good.

I am very hard to please when it comes to my afternoon tea, however, I have to say I love Teaberry's. The service is well paced. The decor is well done. And I love the food. My only critique is they should have clotted cream more regularly. Having said that I've only been once when they didn't have clotted cream so it may have been a fluke.

I brought my bridesmaids here as a way of saying thank you to them for all their hard work. It was a surprise and boy were we surprised! None of us had been here before and we fell in love with this place. The food was excellent and so were the teas! I have gone back since and plan on coming again and again!

Teaberry's is my special place without a doubt. The food is outrageous, the decor is beyond lovely, and the gift shop is chock full with really nice things. It is so cozy and my favorite place to bring all my closest friends. Just last week at the table in the back room next to the bay window, my friend and I chatted and chatted all afternoon over two Ducchess Delite Teas. Delicious!! Thank you!
-
Michele
My group and I, there were 8 of us, really enjoyed taking tea at this establishment. The food was plentiful and delicious. The only thing we didn't care for was the plain scones. In addition, we didn't care for the way the scones were served, in a basket without a utensil for each of us to pick out the flavor of scone we requested.
The gift shop was very nice, they had a variety of things to choose from.
We will definately visit this tea house again.

Though I am not one to jump on bandwagons, I can honestly say Teaberry's deserves every bit of hype they enjoy on many tea enthusiast sites!
From the time my fiance and I stepped in, I went almost immediately into squeaky-excitement mode, being greeted with a charming gift shop full to the brim with tea cozies and all manner of fun and frilly sundries and a series of rooms decorated with lace, hanging hats, cheerfully mismatched teacups and saucers, and impeccable hostesses complete with prim white lace aprons.
The food was amazing, and turned us both into newfound quiche-lovers. The fruit salad was fresh, sweet, and definitely homemade. The tea comes in big tea pots (4-5 cups apiece at least) and is very high quality - we ended up buying a bag of loose tea to take home!
This is clearly a place that strives for perfection and achieves it through the hard work and dedication of the owners and staff.

Beth
This place is FANTASTIC!!!! Has what a tea room should offer on their menu. It is picture perfect! My only criticism is that it doesn't feel quite so 'cozy' as you should in a tearoom, it is a larger building and some of the rooms make you feel like you're dining in a restaurant, rather than that quaint 'in somebody's living room' feeling that you like to have at tea. Our last server was a teenager who seemed REALLY confused and that took away from the experience somewhat, but I can't hold it against Teaberries. If it is a drive for you, it is TOTALLY worth going! We'll be back!

Teaberry's is my favorite tea room, and whenever I am in New Jersey I make sure to include a visit. THis time, my visit to Teaberry's coincided with my birthday, and I brought my sister, my mother, and my niece with me. My niece at 16 thought the idea of going to a tea room boring, even uncool, but she was won over by the delicious food, and the unique and wonderful experience. When she took out her camera to take photos, we knew we had converted her. Thank you, Teaberry's, for another wonderful tea experience, and for helping us to create a wonderful memory for my niece. All three generations enjoyed themselves tremendously, and we will return as soon as possible.

Had a great early mother's day tea here! It was my aunt and cousin's first time to afternoon tea, and they enjoyed every moment of it. The decor was beautiful and cozy with a lot of stuff to look at. We were all satisfied with the teas we chose and the food- we ended up taking dessert home, because we were stuffed! Will definitely come back.

Come to the tearoom to a Bridal shower. It was the best bridal shower I had ever been to. It was wonderful, everyone working there were just great and very polite. The food was great and keep thinking about the tearroom. It was decorated so great you just wanted to keep looking at everything. I want to go back.

Last week my wife and I were shopping on Main Street and we decided to grab a bite to eat. As we were walking this cheerful, gorgeous victorian house caught our eye and after reading the special board on the sidewalk we had to go in. In no time it was clear that we stopped in the perfect place. Our table was between two windows and had a vase with fresh flowers. I ordered the #3 sandwich, recommended by our waitress, and it was scrumptious! Warm chicken breast, brie cheese, and sweet mango chutney on a croissant. My wife ordered the quiche and she loved it! We also split a pot of the kyoto cherry rose tea which was perfect. We were so happy to have stumbled upon such an enchanting teahouse and will definitely be back again!

My best friend and I have made a hobby of visiting teahouses all over the United States. We visited Teaberry's on March 19, 2008 for lunch. This teahouse ties with Vintage Tealeaf in Long Beach, CA for first place in our ongoing quest to find the best teahouses. Teaberry's atmosphere was superb; attention to detail was given to everything---a crystal wheelbarrow to carry the Sweet 'n Low. The teas were excellent and my best friend pronounced her peach iced tea as 'the perfect iced tea.' Since we had made reservations for lunch, I was pleasantly surprised when I asked if we could add scones on to our lunch dishes. The server responded yes and brought us some delicious scones. I had the maple pecan, which went well with the pear salad. Speaking of which, the pears were ripe, but crisp and refreshing. Downright perfect!!! I had the carrot cake for dessert. It also was superb, beating out a family recipe, which I thought was unbeatable. We will be visiting Teaberry's Tea Room again and soon.

Very authentic Victorian experience: both in decoration and the service of tea. Tea leaves are removed from pot before serving, so you can enjoy the whole pot leisurely. The food was incredible and in large portions (making the prices more than reasonable). I couldn't help overdoing myself: I ordered quiche which practically floated off the plate (came with poppyseed loaf and a huge fruit salad) and in addition cream tea (included tea, two scones w/ lemon curd, clotted cream, and jam). My partner got Milady's tea: course after course of goodies cheerfully and elegantly served. They had no problem creating vegetarian tea sandwiches for him without advanced notice. He couldn't stop talking about how good and fresh they were. I was so full though that I could not share any of his desserts, but they cheerfully offered to wrap up the extras for us. He was still able to finish with the pear sorbet (amazingly fresh). Lastly, their tea selection was quite extensive, well organized, and had appropriate descriptions of each type. Their website describes all of their tea and food offerings impeccibly. A delightful experience.

My best friend and I are experts at visiting teahouses. We have visited teahouses all over the US and Canada. Teaberry's ties for being Number 1 in our opinions. Our teas were extremely tasty. My friend, who does not imbibe in hot tea, remarked that her iced tea was the 'perfect ice tea.' In fact, I took a picture of it. I was pleasantly surprised that we were offered scones at the lunch hour. I had the maple/pecan scone and it was superb. I also ordered the pear salad, and carrot cake. The pears in the salad were crisp, but ripe. The carrot cake beat out our family recipe. It was spicy without being overwhelming. The teahouse's atmosphere paid attention to detail. A miniature crystal wheelbarrow held the Sweet & Low. So cute. Our server was extremely pleasant and helpful; not all teahouses can boast that!!! The ultimate compliment: a planned return visit in June.

Teaberry's is cosy, comfortable and a delight. I do not recommend inviting a lumberjack to join you unless you relish the sound of crashing china. Yes, I did say china. Pretty, delicate fine china, good quality flatware and well laundered white linens. The service is quite good by today's standards even though not well schooled about tea. I asked for a good black tea that would hold up well with milk. The waitress politely offered suggestions. When I found her selections unremarkable she was able to get expert advice from the owner/manager. That done, the waitress brought us an excellent pot of tea. I saw not one tea bag lurking anywhere, not even in the pretty little gift shop.
The lunch menu was varied and the food well prepared and crisp. The lemonade was superb, clearly fresh and not overly sweet.
The prices are fair and the selection large. What more can a lady desire at a tea shop?
-

I have been to Teaberry's many times and, as usual, everything is perfect. Our server was beyond pleasant and made sure we were completely comfortable at all times. Even when I said I didn't like the tea I had chosen, she was quick to provide another pot right away! Every little detail is meticulously and the food is beyond comparison. I encourage everyone to go and enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea.

Extremely courteous and attentive staff, our first time there today, Shaylyn was a very gracious waitress and very attentive to our newness. Beautiful ambience and excellent food presentation, the basket of pastries was a real bonus. Huge selection of teas ; unlike some tea rooms . highly recommend.

I went to Teaberry's for the first time this past weekend for tea with my mother after reading all these fabulous reviews and it is true, Teaberry's was such a joy! We both had the Ducchess Delite Tea and we could not believe how fresh and delicious each course was. We shared a large pot and got the special house blend Cupid's Chocolate Bouquet, which was great, (I even bought some from the giftshop). We began with a cup of their house soup, lobster bisque, which was the best we have ever had. We then each got an assortment of about 8 bite sized tea sandwiches arranged on a beautiful bone china plate, each with their own interesting gourment fillings. After that, we had our warm scones with clotted cream, jam, and lemon curd. The dessests that followed were also very tasty, including an adorable Valentines Day themed petit-four! Splendid atmosphere, exquisite food, and friendly staff, Teaberry's just has it all. It's worth the trip, I promise.

I LOVE TEABERRY'S!It is simply my favorite restaurant! With over 60 fresh teas to choose from there is not one I haven't enjoyed. The food is just marvelous as well (Especially, my favorite, the #7)! Teaberry's soups, salads and sandwiches are to die for. The service is a delight and the atmosphere is very homey.
Please try teaberry's if you love tea and good food in a cozy victorian setting!

My absolute favorite tea room in the New Jersey area. I have to travel over an hour, but have frequented it 4 or 5 times. Such a treat & no request is gone undone.

Teaberry's is my new favorite get away! I travel over 40 minutes to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, fresh, exquisite food and truly unique boutique. They have over 50 loose leaf teas, and all the times that I have been, am never disappointed with my selection. From the decorated sugar cubes to the fresh flowers on the table, the attention to detail is remarkable. I had company over during the holiday and I just had to take them to Teaberry's. They immediately fell in love with the place as well. Whether you are going alone to clear your mind over a cup of tea or with a crowd (the back room is lovely for larger parties), Teaberry's is just delightful.

I have enjoyed drinking tea at home for the past 20 years and have become a fan of the wide variety of loose leaf tea blends available but have never visited a Tea Room for 'tea'. Yesterday I visited Teaberry's with my mother and 10 year old twin daughters as part of our 16th annual Black Friday shopping excursion.
Let me begin my review with the phone call to make reservations. The shop was closed for the holiday when I called so I left a message. Susan returned my call later that same evening to confirm my message and answered my questions graciously. A great prelude to the type of service offered.
I was a bit nervous about etiquitte and how my daughters would behave, but Teaberry's was exactly what I anticapated and needed! My daughters were treated like the 'big girls' they are becoming. The hostess (owner?) hung up their coats for them. That one small and simple gesture made them feel extra special and set a perfect mood for our lunch! Thank you SO much for the added attention to detail!
We opted for lunch as I was not sure of what to expect and were pleased on all accounts! The food was superb and plentiful. My mother and I loved the French Onion soup and my daughter raved about the Seafood Chowder. One of my daughters does not like tea but enjoys hot water and honey and her request was met with her own pot of hot water and jar of honey. It is true that every request is accommodated!
And the tea.....oh the tea! Our server recommended the Holiday Splendor blend (a special seasonal addition to the tea list). When I asked what spices were in it out of curiosity, she wasn't certain, but immediately offered to find out for me. Just an example of the outstanding service! The tea was fantastic and I bought some to enjoy at home for the holiday season! My mother ejoyed the Pepermint Chamomile tea and my other daughter was thrilled with her pot of decaffinated English Breakfast stating that it was beter than the tea at home!
As for atmosphere, both of my daughters enjoyed examining and comparing everyone's silverware and teacups. We spent our time speculating on the origin of the various teapots and teacups displayed and talked about customs during the Victorian Era. It was a wonderful bonding experience for our table of 3 generations! I could go on and on about our wonderful experience! What a brilliant, inviting, unpretentious place! I will definitely return and suggest that others visit as well!

frustrated with unprofessionalism
I recently took my daughter for a ladies day out and we could not have made a more wonderful memory together. We both enjoyed the delicious house soup, Lobster Bisque, and delicious sandwiches. This tea room is bursting with creativity and attention to detail and I simply can not wait to visit again. The owner, Susan, is truly gifted in that she has a wonderful restaurant, boutique, and staff. You must go and see for yourself!

Teaberry's is truly a peaceful getaway. The Victorian atmosphere coupled with fresh flowers, lovely and unique teapots, delicious tea served by elegant servers, and the welcoming feeling you have when you enter always make for a special day. Teaberry's welcomes you to ask questions about tea, and Susan and staff are delighted to offer you a wide variety of teas and the proper way to prepare them. The gift shop offers a variety of gifts including the wonderful 'Brown Betty' teapot and lovely handmade Cozy tea pot covers for that perfect cup of tea.
The delicate tea sandwiches, warm scones with lemon, and your own personal tea pot will be a memory that lingers long after you leave.
Teaberrys is definitely worth the trip wherever you journey from.

Tea
I met some friends at Teaberry's, based on some excellent recommendations. The flavors of the finger sandwiches were amazing!!! The tea was okay - wasn't over the roof. The place was a little claustrophobic; we were placed in a room with traffic to another room. As people passed by, my chair would get bumped. The service staff in white were nice, but some other staff (not sure what their roles were) did not seem very friendly at all.

I took my mom to Teaberry's because of all the great reviews that we saw listed. However we were not very impressed. It is a very pretty building and the food was average. I felt that it was very pricey and I did not care for the server. She was rather unfriendly and I really like my tea to be piping hot, however it was tepid and rather weak. Not a bad experience, however I have had better. The gift store has a very nice selection of gifts.

Arrived at 2:30 for a visit with a friend I hadn't seen in ages, left at 4:30 and never once felt like we were taking up space even though the tearoom WAS filled to capacity. Waitress didn't hover as she cleared plated in a timely manner. Champagne raspberry darjeerling tea was delicious-flavorful but light enough to not drown the food's flavors. Lovely flavors of sorbets! Save room. NOTE: parking lot is VERY tight, but noticed upon leaving there is public parking just 1/2 block down the street by the Mikasa outlet.

We recently visited for lunch and was disappointed that we could not be served Afternoon Tea until 2 P.M. We have a specified lunch break where I am employed and cannot be there at this time. I will say that my lunch was very good but we found the menu a little pricy. The rooms were small and we felt a little closed in sitting in the corner. It's very pretty though.

Sister and I had a lovely time at Teaberry's Tea Room...We have been to several tea rooms and this by far is one of our favorites! We had the Milady's Tea a 'great choice' it was excellent, our server was most attentive and pleasant. The gift shop was truly inviting and was a special ending to a perfect tea. Would love to return for a special event. 4/10/07 Sisters

Wonderful presentation, service and food! I've never seen such attention to detail, lovely decor and perfect service anywhere. From the beautifully cozied teapots, the excellent brewed tea, the delicious and huge over stuffed sandwich platters loaded with hearty portions of potato salad and veggie crudites, we had a wonderful afternoon, unrushed service, sweet costumed waitresses. Truely felt we were back in time, one of the privledged idle rich spending a chatty afternoon sipping and eating!

My afternoon at Teaberry's was a nice getaway. I chose this tearoom because of the many positive reviews and I wanted something extra special for my mother. I too have been to many tea rooms and I found the food at Teaberry's ok but a bit pricey for what you got. (Duchess Tea).
It's an intimate setting but I think you need to decide whether you want to be a Tea Room or Gift Shop. The afternoon we were there 2 patrons were enjoying tea at a table in the gift shop. I found this awkward-I wanted to browse but I didn't want to invade their space.

I have taken tea at Tea on the Tiber, Petticoat, Serenity, Crown and Thistle in MD; Civil-la-tea and Aunt Pittypat's in PA; the Pierre in NYC and numerous times while I lived in Scotland. I am also in the tea room business. My mother and I went to tea (Duchess's Tea) after Christmas this past year, and were very impressed by the quality of service (the owner's daughter was kind, conversational, accommodating and delightfully quirky). There was so much food we had to take most of it home. The only negative thing I had to say about this tea room is that it inhospitably made it's visitors stand outside in the cold until the doors opened. Our reservation was for 12, and I expect to come in and be warmed, browse through the gift shop, or be offered temporary seating in an entry or lobby. We had to return to our car in the street, several times, until the doors opened. Shockingly enough, we arrived only minutes before our reservation. I was appalled that they made guests stand outside, in the cold, for so long. If a specific time is given to a guest, the doors should be open to welcome them, period. Otherwise, the food was lovely, the service efficient, and the decor decidedly and effectively Victorian. I also wanted the food on tiers!

My mom and I love to go out for tea. We have tried any number of tearooms in the area, as well as in Philadelphia, New York, and London. We love Teaberry's, and cannot rave about it enough! We go to Teabery's for lunch as often as we can, at least one or two Saturdays a month. It is a great way to relax and catch up after our busy workweeks. The afternoon tea service is always lovely, too. We have never once been disappointed! The food, service, and ambience are all top-notch, and the tea is superb, too. (Try the Apricot or the Garden of Earl Grey!) We are bringing our cousins here for the special Christmas tea next week and cannot wait! We are so pleased that such a great tearoom is so local! Thank you to all the staff, and happy holidays!

This place is extrodinary ... I Loved everything about it. I went to this wonderful tea room with my mother-in-law, she brought me here for several reasons: 1. because well I always talked about having my own tea-room, 2. I was diagonized with cancer and well we at the time didn't know the turn out of all the test and she wanted me to enjoy the best memory of something that was so sweet and beautiful to have as my memory of time. Everything about this place brought me to a different time...the atmosphere was delightful, the service was excellent, and the food well it spoke all for itself! I thank all of you for such a wonderful time! You brighten my spirit and made the day just wanted it needed to be! Thank you again! Best of Luck in your Future!

What can you add to perfection???!!! I am so impressed with my first visit to this tea room. Everything was just FANTASTIC! Loved the mushroom barley soup, cider cinnamon sorbet and everything in between! Nothing is overlooked here. The decor is lovely, service is exceptional, food presentation and taste couldnt be better. I encourage anyone who wants to experience tea to perfection to visit Teaberry's.
Thank you ladies for a wonderful afternoon and another tea room memory!!

I've been to Teaberry's twice so far, and I will be going back as often as possible. I live a little far from Flemington, but made the trip (over an hour) to the quaint little town. I've been to other tea houses, specifically a very famous hole in the wall in the city, but Teaberry's has blown them all out of the water.
I loved the afternoon tea. I ordered it both times and I've yet to finish the whole thing. The variety of food included is incredible. Soup, scones, finger sandwiches, sorbet, and a plate of tiny desserts. Mmmm Lovely!
I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner and her daughter. The daughter actually remembered me on my second trip, even though many weeks had passed. That is personalized service!
My ownly complaint would be that my server was a little rude. I don't think it was her fault, however, because on both instances we were dining near closing time, and as a former waitress I know what kind of multi-tasking is involved at the end of the day. I'm sure she meant well. But that will certainly not hold me back from going again. I'm getting married this July and may be looking to the Teaberry for my bridesmaid's luncheon.
See you soon!

I'm crazy about tea and finally found the time to stop at Teaberry's. I live in Flemington, so it's always available to me, and I'm so glad that it is! The service was very friendly and patient, and I was quite surprised at the menu choices for food. I dragged along a friend who did not like tea at all, who was pretty bummed that I brought him there. He ended up enjoying him self anyway! The food was absolutely excellent; I had a sandwhich stacked with everything it came with one the menu, so it definitely was filling. My tea was served brewed perfectly and in a cute little teapot solely for me. I loved it so much I bought the tea when I left. Their store selection is wide and beautiful, I will definitely be going back.

Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the wide variety of tea and lunch dishes. Everyone is helpful and very friendly. Even the patrons are friendly to each other. The gift shoppe is divine with a selection of tea cups and pots and tea cozies as well as items for the little princess'. Teaberry's is a wonderful tea room one which I will definately visit again.

What a find! When a very proper English girlfriend positively gushed over Teaberry's I knew I had to try it for myself. What a delightful restaurant. Captivating decor, imaginative menus, refined waitstaff and positively delicious food. As a former military hostess and a graduate of The Protocol School of Washington, DC--I have been very fortunate to have enjoyed more than my fair share of tea rooms. Teaberry's ranks among the best of the best!

Needless to say, when my son accepted a transfer to New Jersey, USA from England I was worried his appreciation of tea would diminish; I didn't know about Teaberry's! After two visits to NJ and two tea parties at Teaberry's I am very much relieved.
The last visit, we relaxed on the breezy front porch as we ordered a large pot of Assam for our tea party. The service was prompt and personable while the tea was richly aromatic - brewed correctly! My son had the Carrot Ginger soup while his wife had Tomato Fennel and I enjoyed their Windsor Pear salad. The tea sandwiches were unique and delicious while the scones were fresh and warm served with clotted cream, lemon curd, and jam. The varieties that day were cinnamon chip, pumpkin, and black currant. The owner, herself English, was able to chat a while with us and share her passion for what she is doing.

My daughter and I visited Teaberry's on one of our many days out together. This day was supposed to be particularly special as she was taking me out for my birthday. We had made a reservation in advance to ensure seating at a convenient time as we had to travel down from North Jersey. However, when we arrived, we were kept waiting in the lobby/shop area for at least fifteen minutes... despite a lack of any discernable crowd. When you make a reservation, you expect to be seated at your appointed time; we were never actually seated until we asked a second time about our table -- despite several staff whisking past us during the wait.
As for the tea itself - we were seated in the far room @ a table for two in the bay window. Quite lovely... until the birthday party came in to sit at the only other table in the room. A CHILDREN'S party, mind you. Much noise, and little supervision. My daughter and I are both teachers and we know the difference between kids being kids and kids out of control. This was definitely the latter.
The service was poor; although we had informed our waitress that we were there for the afternoon tea, it took close to twenty minutes to get a menu as they were all being used by other patrons. What kind of establishment doesn't have enough menus for their seating? Especially when the menus are nothing more than photocopies in plastic sleeves.
During the course of our visit, the owner came to our room, literally bumped into me and yet, completely ignored our table as she gushed over the children at the party -- obviously friends of hers. Although we are all happy to see those near and dear to our hearts, it seems like as a businessperson, she might have a smile to spare for the rest of her customers as well.
The food was unspectacular; the desserts horrendous. Small... miniscule, really, and without much flavor.
We have had tea all around the United States and in Paris and several places in the UK and this is, by far, the worst experience ever. We will NEVER return.

My sister just posted her own review of our 7/22/06 visit, but she didn't say anything about the atmosphere. The tea and the food was superb, but the special ambience added so much to our lunch. It's not often that we are together with our mom, and to do the 'ladies out to lunch' thing at Teaberry's made it so very special. I just wish we'd thought to dress the part! I highly recommend Teaberry's - A+++!!!

My husband and I enjoyed afternoon tea at this tea room with a charming gift shop. The ambiance is what you would expect from a tea room. The dcor was beautiful, the service was good and the food was fresh & delicious. The scones were warm. They even had sugar cubes. It was well worth the 1 ½ hour drive from our home.

I absolutely loved this tea room. I have been to several tea rooms, and this one takes the cake (scone, and sandwiches)! Every detail was perfect. I drink an assortment of loose leaf teas everyday at home, so I expect an even better selection when I go out, and they did not disappoint. Great selection on food and tea. Can't wait to go back!

Having lived in England for 16 months, I was looking forward to a reprise of charm, gentility, and rich scones with clotted cream, and Teaberrry's did not disappoint! The ambience is perfect, down to the fancy sugar cubes and antique hats hanging everywhere.
My daughters enjoyed the Princess Tea which comes with child-friendly sandwiches, such as fluffernutters and Nutella (not too English but my kids were happy). Don't order this if you want authentic cucumber sandwiches and the like, however - for these you need the adult selections.
Although the menu is pricey, it is still less than you will pay in Greater London! My suggestion is go with a friend or two and one of you order the sandwiches ('Castle Collection')and one the scones or dessert Tea, and share - more economical than each ordering the full Tea, and there will be plenty of food to share.
For tea, I recommend the Strawberry Darjeeling or the Luscious Fruits tea; the Caramel Creme smells heavenly but is a tad bitter - ask them to brew it a bit weak.
For a special occasion, this place is perfect.

Teaberry's is everything a tea room should be and more. Not only is the food delicious and fresh but it is beautiful! The service is impecable and the place is just gorgeous. My friend and I have been for tea and lunch and both times we left delighted. For lunch, they offer a nice selection of salads, sandwiches, soups, etc. Everything is wonderfully presented. For tea, they offer anything from just scones or desserts all the way up to your 6-course afternoon tea. The prices are very reasonable and we can not wait to return to our new favorite charming get away. You also cannot forget to poke around the boutique which is filled with the cutest gifts around. If you haven't been to Teaberry's, you have to go!!!

We visited for lunch, hoping they would offer tea all day long. They don't. We were disappointed in that. The lunch was very pricey, but it was good. The atmosphere was terrific, the renovations they did to Mae's Floral shop to turn it into Teaberry's were excellent. I would love to go back for TEA again sometime. It looks at though the cost is around $20 per person for afternoon tea, served 2:30-5:30 or therabouts.
