It has been a few years since I went here. But the atmosphere was amazing. The staff were friendly. The place was clean. I enjoyed my experience here. Hoping to get back to traveling and this place is still around

Great atmosphere and service. The food and service was amazing. My daughters and friends loved the area to pick hats to wear while enjoying our high tea!

This is the most special place and my mother and I would come here often. We always enjoyed ourselves and it was always a special day. Everything is wonderful from the finger sandwiches, the heavenly desserts and of course, the most delicious teas with so many varieties to choose from. Our favorite times to come were in October and then just before Christmas each year. Sadly I lost my mother last year and I will forever hold these special memories of our times at The New Leaf Tea Room and Shop in my heart. My mother absolutely loved this special place, as do I. So happy that we were able to experience this together and I have those memories to cherish now that she is gone.

Major disappointment. We made reservations several weeks in advance, yet our group of 10 was seated at 3 different tables in a small room with one other table. Two of the tea sandwiches were sickening sweet, two others were soggy and clotted cream was sparse Service was slow, waitress was abrupt, bordering on rude and there was a long wait for the rest room, yet there was a second restroom (that needed to be better prepared for guests). Price was more than expected because they added a 20 percent gratuity for parties over, yet the service did not even earn 5 percent. If you want a great afternoon tea skip this looser and head for Teaberry's in Flemington, NJ

This is the most elegant and beautiful Tea Room in all of New Jersey! We just hosted a Bridal Shower for my best friend, and every single person enjoyed themselves and said it was by far the best Bridal Shower they have ever been to. We had people come from far distances to be here and although the ride was long, each and every person said it was worth the drive. We couldn't have been happier to choose New Leaf Tea Room for the Bridal Shower. I will definitely be recommending this tea room to everyone and will host more here! The food was scrumptious and they aren't joking when they say that there will be left overs! The scones are to die for! The staff is very friendly and awesome to work with! The room was beautiful and they even had hats that you could borrow. All of the details were perfect! Thank you so much for the best tea room experience I've ever had!

Upon my daughter's engagement, there was only one place that I would consider to host her bridal shower, and that was The New Leaf Tearoom. From the moment of our arrival, the servers were quick to help us to unload packages from our car, despite the sprinkling of rain. Once inside, everything was made ready for us. The savories were generous and tasty, and the tea was full-bodied and freshly brewed. The scones were a great favorite and made with seasonal berries. Some of my guests had never been to a tearoom, but upon experiencing such a memorable afternoon, plan on making reservations for return visits. I cannot thank Phyllis, Peggy, and Judy enough for making this once-in-a-lifetime event a treasure trove of beautiful and cherished moments.

Dear Peggy, Phyllis, and the other two caring ladies(whose names I have forgotten, sorry),
Stan and I had a totally charming experience at The New Leaf Tea Room this afternoon. I did not feel like coming out of that atmosphere back into the real world! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and pampered. We loved the décor and ambiance of each of the rooms ---- how we wish we had heard about this place a long time ago. Everything about the New Leaf Tea Room is so perfect , it is located in such a nice part of town and is so easy for us to get to. I think we will become regulars from now on. We will be spreading the news to all our friends here in Moorestown.
Having lived in England for 11 years and eaten at many different Tea Rooms there as well as over here in the US we can highly recommend The New Leaf Tea Room as being very classy, unique and special in it's own way.
Thanks to Phyllis for the kind gesture of treating us to our first 'Riverton Tea'. We were spoiled for choice in the selection of gourmet teas that were on the menu. Each sandwich was prepared so delicately and the scone and pastries were so special. At the end of all that food we really liked the touch of the refreshing bowl of fresh fruit. We made the wise decision to come in hungry or we would not have been able to get through all that food. That was a feast ----- for the eyes (so beautifully presented) as well as for the palate !!!
Having known Peggy for about 18 years, we are certain that the Tea Room will be in the best possible hands once she takes over from Sept. 1st.
When we left the tea room we drove to the water front near the Yatch Club and took a walk by the river to work off all those delicious calories. However, we are so full even after all that activity that we do not need any dinner tonight.
This was a lovely day for us. Thank you all so very much,
From your new friends,
Sue and Stan

This was my first experience in going to a tea room. I loved it!
The food, the service, and the gift
shop were all fabulous! I have told
all my friends and relatives about
the New Leaf Tea Room, and I look
forward to going there again in the
near future. Also, since it was my
birthday, the staff went out of their way to make sure it was an
especially happy one. I could not
have chosen a better place to
celebrate my special day!!!

Charming and delightful! My mom requested to come here for her birthday this year. She had previously been here for the themed Queen Victoria tea and did nothing but rave about her experience, so of course we had to come back. Phyllis is extremely pleasant and accommodating to all her guests needs. The food is delicious from the homemade soups, tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts. We had such a wonderful experience we went back 2 weeks later for the themed Downton Abbey tea, which was excellent. I look forward to coming back! Love!

New Leaf is just the best tea experience ever, the best fresh brewed teas, the best soups, salad, sandwiches, and absolutely the best SCONES on the planet. The atmosphere is Victorian Elegance to the max, and the gift shop is full of unique findings for very reasonable prices. Whatever special girl occasions I have, Phyllis and Joan are there to meet them with sytle and grace. If you have never been here, it is worth the trip. And now Phyllis has added The Downton Teas to entertain her guests. What a treat! The appearance of the dowager Countess played so well by Ms Dupuy will have you laughing your bustle off and shaking your fans in meaningful messages to the opposite sex. What a romp. Don't miss it.

I have been coming here for tea with my friend Patty for 7 years. We always have a wonderful time. The ambiance is just perfect as are the teas and the food. I look forward to many more years of enjoying the New Leaf Tea Room

My husband, friends and I, spent a wonderful afternoon at the New Leaf Tea Room yesterday. The theme was Downton Abbey. We were greeted warmly by the owner and seated at a beautifully appointed table. Not only was the food delicious, we were treated to a historical portrayal of the Dowager Countess of Grantham!
Although we had to travel a considerable distance to this Tea Room, we will surely return.

Absolutely a pure delight. I have been to several tea rooms, and this is by far the very best - and the owner was cordial and spoke to us and gave us a history of the tea room and the town - wish I lived closer, I would go more often.

Charming, charming, charming. This past summer I visited 4 other tea rooms, including the Four Seasons in Philly. The New Lead Tea Room was the best. From the outside to the charming setting inside, to the Rose tea to the scones, just wonderful.

We, the Posse, arrived here on Thursday for a wonderful high tea. There are 4 of us that love visiting tearooms and this was an occasion with two of us just having returned from a trip to Ireland/Scotland. We were very impressed with the decor, sandwiches, scones (out of this world) and service, to say nothing of the delicious desserts. Lovely Owner, Phyllis, made sure everything was perfect for us and it was. The only item we felt missing was the tea cozies we find in many of the tearooms we've visited. We will plan to return!

We had my baby shower at the New Leaf Team Room in 2008. I just moved to the area and decided to go back today with my mother in law and daughter who is now 5. We absolutely love this place. We have been to many tea rooms and this blows them all away. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is lovely and very victorian. The staff is sooo sweet and the owner talks to us all the time. My daughter loved the special sandwiches for her it was just perfect. I am definitely going to have her birthday party here next year.

Some of us may never get the opportunity to experience the joy of having High Tea in England. Nevertheless, you will feel like you're in England at the New Leaf Tea Room. For many years now my daughter and I have made it a point to spend our special events at the New Leaf Tea Room. So on this special weekend, once again we made new memories at our special place. Back in the 70’s I lived in England for 6 wonderful years and visited many Tea Rooms for afternoon Tea. The New Leaf Tea Room takes me back to that special time in England. The décor is a pleasure to the eyes. The choice of tea is always a delight for my taste buds. The salad, soup, finger sandwiches, not to mention their famous scones and delicious desserts are pure joy for your taste buds. The staff and service is top-notch. They make it a point to always make you feel special.
A Special message for Phyllis (the owner) of this wonderful establishment!
A Special Place to share a cup of Tea with family and friends
A Grateful Heart to have a place like the New Leaf Tea Room
A Staff of Women who truly care about their customers
An abundance of smiles and laughter throughout the room
Memories being shared with others throughout the years
How lucky am I to have the opportunity to share a Special Cup of Tea at the New Leaf Room on this Magical Mother’s Day.
Phyllis and the entire staff, I thank you once again for another treasured day.

I took my daughters to The New Leaf for afternoon tea and we were totally enchanted by the beautiful decor! I loved the attention to detail, such as the pretty tea lights on each table. We so enjoyed the salad, soup, tea sandwiches and scones, not to m mention the just right servings of decadent deserts! The gift shop has gorgeous things and we can't wait to return!

My sisters and I held mom's 80th birhday at the New Leaf last week and without a doubt this is the finest tearoom we have ever visited. We go everywhere and this was like stepping back in time to a beautiful garacious Victorian parlour. The ecclectic detail is everywhere- even antique teacups hanging from the crystal chandeliers. The food and presentation is wonderful and the staff made us feel like the royal family. The cucumber mint sandwhiches are the best. Can't wait to visit again. Thanks New Leaf for a treasured day.

I have been to the New Leaf Tea Room at least half a dozen times. This is my go to tea room when you want to treat your friends to a special luncheon. The food is beyond perfection and elegantly served. The staff is very friendly, professional, courteous, and pleasant. They go out of their way to make the occasion a memorable experience. I will be making plans to return soon, as I have never been disappointed.

We recently had a bridal shower at The New Leaf. The owner went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. The food was wonderful and plentiful. Some of my guests ordered hot chocolate. I have never seen hot chocolate like this before! It looked like a massive sundae topped with whipped ccream and special shaped marshmellows piled high inside of lovely tea pots. All of my guests were thrilled with the bridal tea shower. The Garden Room was so beautiful. I would highly recommend The New Leaf for a special occassion.

I have never written a review before but I felt compelled to do so after taking a group of friends for tea. All three of my guests have traveled to England so I was nervous about their expectations but the afternoon was nothing short of perfect. Thank you Phyllis, JoAnn and Emily for your wonderful service.

I have never given a review before but after my visit to the New Leaf tea room on Saturday (Mar.16th) I just had to let everyone know of this hidden Gem. From the moment you walk throught the door you know you have entered a special place, the attention to detail was amazing, our food was deliciou and the scones were to die for...our servers were wonderful and made us feel special. This will not be my last visit to the New Leaf, before I left I made a reservation to bring my out of town guest to experience the pleasure of afternoon tea. Thank you once again for this delightful vist.

8 of us went to New Leaf tea room for my moms birthday. I made the reservation atleast 3 weeks earlier. We drove over an hour to try this tea room. As we arrived and the ladies were getting situated and using the restroom, I was told by the owner to hurry up, hurry my party up pick hats quickly and get seated because a big bridal shower was coming in and they wanted to get started. It was rude and abrupt. As our tea started we had a potato soup that was delicious, the tea came next which was so week it had no taste. The tiered presentation was beautiful. Emily was one of the servers she was so kind, sweet, and accomodating, even Phyllis the owner was nice but there was a dark haired female server she was down right nasty not only to us but the other server. When one of my party members rang the bell (which we only rang once) she asked for coffee, the look on this servers face and attitude about it was disgraceful. The food overall was good. The egg salad did have a few shells but it was all pretty good. The desserts were very good, and the scones were great. At the end after a few ladies boxed some leftover food to take home, Emily came around to put the togo boxes in bags, and the nasty server says loudly,'dont put their food in bags, they can do it themselves', Emily continued and the nasty one huffed, puffed, shook her head and walked away. The restaurant itself was so pretty very charmingly decorated. Needless to say we will never be going back.

I visited this tea house late in 2012. The ocassion was a special birthday party for one of the 5 women who attended. We had made reservations well in advance, then confirmed the date/time within 48 hours of our party. The food was was very good. But for reasons I still don't understand, the owner and waitress could not have been ruder. I handed over more than $150 for an uncomfotable, embarrassing afternoon of insults at their hands. I would not recommend this as an adventure to anyone who prefers to be treated with any degree of dignity.

Recently I took a friend of mine to the New Leaf Tea Room in Riverton, N.J. to celebrate a milestone birthday. My friend had a perfectly delightful afternoon. The service was excellent. JoAnn and Emily were courteous, attentive, and extremely well-organized. The presentation of the teas, sandwiches, and desserts was beautifully executed. As well as the food being delicious, there is a great variety of sandwiches, desserts, and teas. This Victorian tea room is beautifully decorated with an enticing Gift Shop. My friend loved being able to choose a lovely hat to wear making her feel like royalty! My friend had such a memorable birthday. Congratulations to Phyllis, the owner, for providing us with an exceptionally high quality tea room. The New Leaf is without a doubt #1! We can't wait to visit again!!

I visited this tea room in december 2012. The customer service was horrible. Phyllis who i believe is the manager was absolutely rude because my invites did not show up despite the fact that she made me make a deposit on my reservatio one week prior. The place is potentially good but the management needs to beef up on customer relations. I was embarassed at the rude behavior and treatment and the people i invited were also embarassed as well.

I had afternoon teas there on this June with my American friends during visiting the US from Japan. The service was top-notch! The presentation, teas, food (salad & dressing, sandwiches, cakesc) were the best I have ever tasted before in the US. The staff were very nice, attentive, and organized! I think itfs because of the owner, Phyllis, who has a sense of caring very muchcthey were just so nice. Above all, the scones were top-notch I have ever eaten in my whole life!
After returned to Japan, I was dying for that scones and searched online the one has similar tastec.finally I was able to find a little similar one to that of the scones I had in the tea room, but itfs still not exactlycI wish the tea room is more closer or I could even import them! From Yokohama, Japan

The Rambunctious Red Hat Gals of Mount Laurel had their Christmas Party and High Tea at the New Leaf Tea Room in Riverton, NJ on December 5th. We had wonderful assortment of teas, great food and great service. The tables were beautifully decorated for the holidays. We also enjoyed the Gift Shop.

My boyfriend and I traveled 101 miles to visit this tea room and we were not disappointed.
The food was superb and the service was excellent. This tea room is larger than any I have been to before. There are even ladies' and men's hats that one can borrow for tea if desired.
I wish this place were closer because I would go here again if it were.

If you want to impress out of town guests, this is the place to take them. My friends from Scotland found their scones to be the best outside of the UK. The home made Devonshire cream was outrageously good and if you want lemon curd, just ask. Our Irish blend tea was delicious and our server kept our pot continuously replenished with hot water. I Can’t wait to visit again. The lavender scones alone are worth a trip.

We visited this wonderful tea room last Saturday with my family to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We were treated like royalty from start to finish making a very memorable experience. I especially enjoyed the caramel pumpkin cake with a fabulous pumpkin butter cream icing, of course the children’s favorite was the oversized chocolate dipped strawberry. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. Thank you New Leaf for an enchanted afternoon.

We stopped at this lovely looking tearoom whic is located in a house setting and were excited to try another tearoom.
As you enter, there is a lovely little gift shop area and then beyond that is the tearoom which seats several guests in three roooms.
The setting and atmosphere was just lovely.
We ordered tea from a small list of teas and were presented with, as many tearooms do, a small pot with a strainer to place over our cups since they peave the tea leaves in for us to deal with. The leaves just sit there and the tea gets bitter as you pour another cup.
The food was good and filling, no complaints here.
The real issue: When the small pot that they served me was empty, I asked to try a pot of another type of tea. The expression on the waitress's face changed from a slight smile to the strangest look I've ever seen and it was obvious to both me and my friend. We commented to each other that it appeard that she didn't want to make me a second pot of tea.
Upon her reluctant return with the second pot, she indicated very firmly that their policy is that just one pot of tea comes with their Afternoon Tea service. I can tell you that I was completely taken aback by her attitude and comment, since I have visited hundreds of tearooms and have never experienced what I had on my visit to this one.
There was a large group of ladies, about twenty or so in the other room and I wondered if the servers would allow these ladies refills, or if they also told them that there is a one pot limit per person!
If I lived in the area, I'd never return just for that reason and no matter how lovely the setting, if the server has this attitude and the policy is that they will serve only one pot of tea and a small one at that, I'd never return.
On this particular trip, we visited three tearooms and this one will be memorable in a negative way. It's not just about the food and setting, it's also about attitude.

Wow, the New Leaf Tearoom is the best. It is now my #1 choice. A friend took me on 8/24 for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The variety of food provided was amazing~the largest selection of tea sandwiches. The portion sizes were so generous~from the soup to the dessert. FANTASTIC. The owner was lovely and really cared about her guests. Don't hesitate to visit. It is definitely worth the trip. Make sure you browse the gift shop..adorable.

Looking for a final outing for my friend visiting from Japan, I decided on The New Leaf Tea Room. It was my first visit to this Tea Room, but not my last.
The Staff were engaging and the food was delicious! Just the week before we had visited Lady Mendl's Tea room in NYC. The New Leaf Tea room was 100 times better! I cannot wait to return.

With my wife and son, we visited the New Leaf Tea room and were exceptionally pleased! This was our first tea room experience and we'd definitely go back. The staff was great, and the food was carefully prepared, very nicely presented and exceptionally high quality. They are onto a great format and by the judge of the other folks in the rooms, all were having a very nice time. One final thing: The scones are to die for, especially with the clotted cream on top. We'll be back!!!

This is such a lovely place where you feel very comfortable and relaxed. I bring new people each time I come and everyone is very happy with the food and tea selections. They want to return with their family and friends. The gift shop has a beautiful selection of items and very reasonably priced. While I've been to other tea rooms in NJ and PA the New Leaf is my #1 choice.

Atmosphere is absolutely lovely and the service exceptional...Nice selection of teas to choose from...We had the Queen's Tea and all the courses were very good to excellent...not a loser in the bunch...I have been to many tea houses, including the top ones rated here in NJ and I enjoyed each selection on the Queen's Tea...While Teaberry's also has very good food, I found the New Leaf owner and staff to be much more friendly and approachable...In addition, the tables here are more spread apart and allow for more intimate conversation...Lovely decor too...I will be back...

This is my most favorite place to come. My daughter introduced me to the New Tea Leaf and I have been back with friends on 4 other occasions and everyone I brought loved the atmosphere, service and the people. When I need a break from the stresses of work, off I go to the New Tea Leaf. I even had my birthday party there with my closest friends and family.

Held a surprise birthday party here for Mom and the owner (Phyllis) and staff were fantastic and helpful every step of the way! Our needs and that of the guests were extremely well anticipated - love it when they remember even the things you forgot to think of. Everyone loved it, from the hats to the tasty french creme brulee tea! And the food was fantastic and plentiful - even my brothers - a couple of big athletic guys in their 20s - felt full! Thanks for a very special day!

We had such a great day the place was great, the food was great and the service was wonderful, we will definitely be coming back. Thanks for the great memories!!!!!

We had my daughters bridal shower at the New Leaf Tea Room. It was amazing. The variety of sandwiches and desserts was excellent and mouthwatering and the different assortment of teas was wonderful. The room was beautifully decorated, plenty of room for all of our guests, gifts and games. Everyone totally enjoyed wearing the floppy hats to add to the fun of the shower. I would wholly recommend you planning an event at the New Leaf Tea Room and I would definitely go back. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

I have been acquainted with the owner and staff of the New Leaf for many years. I have always been very impressed with their attention to detail in all areas, from initial contact with customers to the planned event. The New Leaf is incredibly charming inside and out, and the staff is always very friendly and efficient. The food is wonderful!

We had my sister's bridal shower at The New Leaf Tea Room this past weekend. None of the bridesmaids live locally, and it was really important to us that the planning be easily done over the phone. I spoke to Phyllis often, and she was always helpful, answering any of my questions and offering suggestions from her experience of having planned other showers and special events. I was not able to visit the venue before the shower, and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. Each guest was able to pick their own personal tea from a list of over 30 teas. They also each got their own 3-tiered tray of food: scone and fruit, sandwiches (shrimp salad croissant was amazing!), and desserts (choc covered strawberry and cakes). Most of the guests even had to ask for to-go boxes. I had high expectations for my sister's shower and Phyllis and The New Leaf Tea Room did a wonderful job preparing for a beautiful shower. They were reasonably priced and were so easy to work with, even long distance. I definitely recommend The New Leaf Tea Room to anyone who is interested in an afternoon tea or planning a special event at a tea room. Phyllis and her team were top notch.

I had my sister's bridal shower at The New Leaf and it was excellent! Our guests were all ages and personalities, and everyone enjoyed the day thoroughly. The selection of teas was surprising, and the food was amazing! The room was beautifully decorated, and the selection of fun hats for everyone to wear helped make the bridal shower even more fun. The staff was very friendly and organized. Overall, I would recommend The New Leaf to anyone, and I would love to go back!

I went to The New Leaf tea room on Saturday, January 28, 2012 with my 90 year old mother, my sister and two nieces. We had such a nice time. Food and teas were great and the greatest surprise was our selection of fancy hats for us to wear for the our 'tea time'. I came all the way from Connecticut and I would certainly go back. Very enjoyable afternoon! A must do for everyone!

I went to New Leaf on November 6, 2011 with my mom, sisters, and nieces and my great niece, it was such a nice place, victorian decor and very quaint, delicious tea and food such as tea sandwiches, desserts and fruit and the hats were so adorable. We all picked one to compliment the outfits we were wearing that day. I selected the earl grey and my mother selected the cherry cordial tea which was my favorite. The gift shop was very cute as well with inexpensive items for sale. A good time was had by all. My only complaint was my mother asked for some scones to take home with her leftover food and the woman said they were $2 for each one and I think for the price we paid $28 they could have offered them free of charge but overall it was a great place and I would defnitely go back again. Definitely thinking this will be a yearly event, a nice place to spend the day with family or friends and a very relaxing atmosphere.

What a great place! Inside the New Leaf are rooms filled with the perfect blend of charming and authentic furnishings, vintage hats and accessories, and best of all, a great variety of teas and associated products. Stay, sip and taste the sumptuous assorted fare, (tea sandwiches, scones, miniature desserts) and you will wonder why anyone would grab a Big Mac for lunch again! Outstanding hospitality, quality and products!

Just went to a bridal shower at The New Leaf and had a wonderful time. The food was abundant and delicious. The atmosphere was fun and beautiful and the teas served were delightful. What a refreshing and gracious venue! A good time was had by all forty of the ladies present. I plan to bring my cousin here for a birthday lunch.

The Woman's League of Mt. Holly held a fundraiser at the Tea room on June 4, 2011 and it was a special afternoon with a delightful atmosphere, delicious tea assortments, sandwiches and desserts. The scones are the best. I highly recommend this venue.

What a wonderful experience, in such a lovely atmosphere! The food was fantastic, and the presentation was perfect. Service was great!! Phyllis came around to visit with each and every guest. The gift shop has adorable items, and it’s reasonably priced. I give The New Leaf an A+++++ I’ll be back again!

I took my Grandmother, Great Aunt and Cousin for tea at New Leaf. But first let me speak on the wonderful phone manners and kindness that Phyllis displayed gave me a good feeling about coming here. The look of the house and cute store had us certain we were going to enjoy lovely tea. We all donned whimsical hats and were welcomed to our table. We all agreed that the sandwiches, scones, sweets and most of all tea was delicious. I had the Rose tea and loved it so much I bought some to go. It was a memorable occasion for us all. Thanks so much. A good website with nice pics: http://sassiwench.blogspot.com/2010/08/afternoon-tea-at-new-leaf-tea-room.html

My granddaughter turned 12 on May 19th, so we took her as a surprise to the tea room. There were 7 in our party. I can't tell you how memorable this event was. The tea was great, the selection superb, the atmosphere was so beautifully old fashioned and the quiet and calm of the afternoon and the hospitality of the owner allowed us so many spectacular photo ops. A perfect day for a perfect little lady and her family to celebrate her 12th birthday. Kudos to the owner and her staff!!

On May 19th myself and nine ladies all in our 80's visited this tea room for the most delightful afternoon From the moment you enter you are transported to another era. One of charm and manners. Phyliss was wonderful and the staff went above and beyond. We have a lady in our group who is allergic to salt and they fixed her a great assortment. I think this Tea Room is definitly #1 in our book. I am going to take my grandaughter there soon. The food is outstanding and we all went home with goodie bags. Don't forget to visit the store it is loaded with great gift items. . Doris H.

After too long a time since my last visit to The New Leaf I finally was able to enjoy tea there this past week for my niece's birthday and I am so glad I did! Our little group had a lovely afternoon of tea and shopping, and it was wonderful to see Phyllis again. We especially enjoyed the savories and desserts which were not only delicious, but beautifully presented. Each of us chose a different tea and they were all delightful. Our server was pleasant and efficient which also contributed to our experience. I certainly won't wait so long again until my next visit!

Staff wonderful. Easy to find. Tea selection amazing. Fantastic gift shop. Spacious overall. Staff knew how to best enjoy the teas. The menu goes into very nice and somewhat involved details about the teas, origins, etc. Very enjoyable loose tea experience, for someone more used to tea bags, etc. Many of the sandwiches were favored by our group of three, particularly the ham salad, egg salad and the chicken salad. Fruit cup had a nice seasonal variety but not too much, nor too little. The atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing, giving a feeling of mild pampering in almost a high society way, yet not being pretentious. Very warm and calming environment. We did not know what to expect as we are not tea goers, until now. A wonderful small business in a world shrinking from such things, which is a shame. The area is historic and we had a feeling of yesterday being there. I personally want to have a high tea for friends and family one day, due to this experience and would love to go again, soon.

The tea room is lovely, the items for sale are great, the tea and food served was tasty and the environment welcoming and the service wonderful. My sister and my friends had a wonderful time in this tea room. I would go back in a heart beat. I traveled from Pa. to go to this tea room. We laughed and talked there for over an hour or two.

Our visit to the New Leaf was one of the best tea experiences I have had. We were treated like royalty from the minute we walked in the door. The food is wonderful and the gift shop is so lovely. Can't wait to return.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the aroma of fresh baked pastries to the last sip .. this was one of the best teas I have had. The way you present the sandwiches, scones and pastries was exceptional. Thanks Phyllis & JoAnn for the wonderful afternoon. Our group will return soon.

My mom and I have been here twice in the last six months and have had a great experience both times. The gift shop has a beautiful selection of all sorts of unique gifts. I only wish they carried more loose leaf tea for sale. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was whimsical and fun. My favorite part was the beautiful collection of hats to borrow to top off the tea party experience. The owner was very sweet, I hope she decides to keep the place a little longer or sell it to someone who will keep the establishment as is.

We hosted a tea party in honor of our best friend getting married. Our gathering was in the Red Room, and it was an enchanting setting. Delightful pastries and savory tea sandwiches artfully crafted and enjoyed with Pumpkin Spice Tea, Peach Tea, Chocolate Mint Tea. The proprietor was a perfect hostess as well as the server. HIGHLY recommend this tea room for your next shower, luncheon or gathering.

This was my second time at the tea house. My first was this summer with my little granddaugthers. They were treated so special. I had to return and bring my friends. Once again we had an enjoyable afternoon at the tea house. Food was excellent. We are going to plan a return trip with our Red Hat ladies.

The New Leaf has one of the best teas anywhere. We have been to tea in Williamsburg and at the Dupont Hotel and The New Leaf was better than either. The food is delightful to see and delicious to taste. Our Royal Tea included lobster bisque soup, a wonderful array of tea sandwiches, a choice of many teas, (my favorite is cherry cordial), and a whole tier of rich desserts. We even had leftovers to take home. The elegance and the beauty of the surroundings make this a truly unique experience.

I was taken to the New Leaf Tea Room for my birthday. What an enjoyable experience. Not since the Savoy in London, England, have I had such an elegant tea experience! The setting is in a 100 year old house (this year) with a Victorian motif. The food, service and atmosphere was more than I expected. The tea I had was Vanilla Spice decaf. I enjoyed this and it went well with the food. There is quite an assortment of teas to select from. At the end of our visit, the servers came out with a lighted cupcake and sang happy birthday to me. I really enjoyed this. You must try this tea room. The warm experience will bring you and your friends that you will introduce to this tea room back many many times!

My family just celebrated my Grandmothers 85th Birthday at the New Leaf. Several relatives are from England and they couldn't stop raving about the scones and tea selection. My Grandmother was overjoyed when the staff placed a crystal tiara on her head and the entire tearoom sang Happy Birtday. Thanks for making a great memory.

WOW!!! What an experience. When I was first invited I didn't know what to think, it seemed strange to me but my mother always said to keep an open mind and try new experiences. Thank you Mom! I had a fabulous time. The food was delicious, the company superb, and the staff was outstanding and made the experience 10 times better! I wasn't a hot pot of tea and scone guy going in but I am now! Thank you New Leaf.

A birthday celebration that was memorable. Everyone at New Leaf was so accommodating. Service was excellent and every request was met with a smile. The birthday girls were surprised with cupcakes, candles and a song! One of the prettiest tea rooms we've ever been in. Food was very good. Shop was lovely and reasonable. We'll certainly be back!

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a typical restaurant and have a wonderful experience, you should try 'The New Leaf'. The food, tea, and service was outstanding! We has such a good time, I am taking my whole family back . . .

What a wonderful visit. The shop and dining room are set up beautifully. The servers were attentive and cheerful. The food was delicious and presented nicely. Then shopping in their gift shop was fun! Parking was a little rough with a small lot, but there is on street parking. And their store is set up in a charming main street area.

My husband and I enjoy visiting the New Leaf Tea Room because of the delicious food which includes scones, tea sandwiches, deserts and of course a pot of tea. The presentation of the food and the atmosphere of the tea room can only be described as beautifully done because of the owner Phyllis who makes you feel so welcome when you arrive. I also love the gift shop which has a wonderful selection of tea related items to choose from. If you don’t visit the New Leaf, you will be missing out on a wonderful Tea Room experience.

My Mom and family had a Tea here for my birthday. The food/tea and service were outstanding. The attention to detail in this tearoom is exceptional. I have a year old with a significant peanut allergy. This was accommodated without hesitation making my birthday a joyous event to be able to bring my little one and not be worried in that direction. Phyllis and staff are wonderful. Highly recommend and quite frankly the best tea house I have ever attended.Highly Victorian/most impressive

I recently visted New Leaf Tearoom with my sister-in-law. We both agreed that the scones were the best we ever tasted. The food was delicious and the tea was very good. The decor of the tearoom was exceptionally done in every room. We also found the town of Riverton quaint and picturesque. I would highly recommend this tearoom

My daughter and I had the pleasure of visiting the New Leaf Tea Room. We thought we had stepped back into 1880's. Every aspect was taken into concideration from the vast tea selection, presentation of the food to the melt in your mouth scones. The service was wonderful- Exquisite! I have fallin in Love and the gift shop is a delight to the sences. We will definately vist over and over again.

Spent a lovely afternoon with 10 ladies enjoying the most delicious scones, freshest sandwiches and most sinfully delicious desserts in a most welcoming atmosphere. The servers refilled our teapots with hot water without being asked and the tea menu offered so many choices it was hard to stick to one! This is a certain 'hit' among many hit and misses.

I had a Princess Tea Party at the New Leaf for 20 6yr olds for my daughter's birthday. It was fabulous. The girls had a wonderful time - the food was great, the service friendly and the entertainment kept the girls engaged during the entire party. The New Leaf staff handled all of the party planning details and was a joy to work with. The girls got to dress up with hats and gloves, have a parade, create an arts and crafts project and then have the tea party with some education of the history of tea, a story and some dancing! We all had a great time.

This is nicest tearoom I have ever been to. It has a very elegant atmosphere-perfect for special occasions. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and helpful.

I have been to the New Leaf Tea Room twice now, and it just gets better. The food is plentiful and delicious and the atmosphere is elegant. When you enter through the gift shop you are welcomed to try on and wear vintage hats while you're having lunch, which just adds to the total experience. I dined with a red chapeau with red boa feathers today! This is the best place for a special ladies' luncheon. We had a ball!

Julia
Though the atmosphere is elegant and the offerings delectable, this sort of limited tea service is best saved for a special event or meeting of a dear friend for the price of their Royal Tea. For about four more you have either a choice of soup or salad, when many other tea rooms offer both of these with a full afternoon tea. There are tea rooms local to this one that are just as tasty, cheery, etc. where you get more for what you pay. But, if you are the kind of person who still thinks that a true Victorian Tea requires such formality, perhaps consider putting down your Victorian Chic style book and consulting a history book, tea rooms were more an invention of the Edwardian era, not to be confused with the formal tea service held in one's home as a special gathering. Tea rooms were merely informal cafes where ladies could meet for lunch unaccompanied by men, and were rarely as formal as the frilly rooms we associate them with today. So, for a more accurate tea room experience that isn't overflowing with an overzealous attempt at the modern concept of Victoriana, the Wild Violets Tea Cafe in Hulmeville PA is much more appropriate. It is less formal but always busy and the service is adequate, since finding good female waitstaff for a partime day job during normal work/school hours must be hard, but the food offered is always delicious and much of it is made by the owner herself. As a regular, I have been made to feel very important by the waitstaff who now regognize me and therefore know in advance what I will likely order. The New Leaf is most definitely a lovely tea room and be best used sparingly for special occaisions because one can certainly get more for their money elsewhere and also because a spur of the moment craving for a cup of tea will go unacted on once you arrive after a day of antiquing to be told you must have a reservation atelast two weeks in advance. A place that will seat you, even when they were planning to close early because of poor weather seems more interested in customers who make the trip I think, but you decide for yourself.

This tea house has wonderful ambiance. The list of teas offered is average, however one or two on the list is exceptional. The scones are average and on the day I visited, only one kind available (rasin). The sandwiches were average, but there was a large variety of sweets, something to please every pallet.
The tea room has only two seatings 12 or 2 and you must make reservations. The servers were very polite and dressed in costume, which was a nice touch.

My daughters took me to afternoon tea as a Mother's Day Gift. It was a great experience. The Victorian atmosphere is lovely. We enjoyed the tea sandwiches and the scones were excellent. However the pasteries were ordinary (cream puff was Sam's club bought topped with a chocolate drizzle) Owner came over to greet us. Would definitely go back.

WE Visited this tea room and a lovely time even though it was a very rainy and miserable day. We enjoyed all of the food and the service was excellent. They even had brew at your table coffee for someone who really needed that instead of tea that day. Wish the place was even bigger, so it could accommodate more people at one time. Needs to get a better instruction source to get there, but going home was a piece of cake! Hope we get there for the Victorian Day on June 17th.

I had the pleasure of experiencing an afternoon tea on two separate occasions, both of them wonderful experiences. Our daughters and granddaughter had such a grand time that I invited my sister to tea at a later date. This time we remembered to wear one of the beautiful hats to add glamor to a totally wonderful afternooon. Not only was the luncheon beautifully presented and delicious in taste, but the check was presented in a lovely victorian handbag. What a novel idea! Also, don't forget to vist the gorgeous gift shop. It's a treat in itself.
