This tea shop & cafe has been in Palo Alto for a few years. This shop has the largest tea selection in Northern California that I have seen (besides Chado in Pasedena). I ordered a decaf tea with a oriental afternoon tea, and the sandwiches were excellent! The oriental afternoon tea did not include the traditional scone, so I will definitely come back to try it. Now, it is small cafe, so it can feel a little crowded. There are a couple of tables for outdoor seating. Noise level was low at the time. Tea tasted great. I would definitely go there again to try the other menu selections. It is a lovely spot in a busy little downtown area and tea & food are good!

I love going to Tea Time. They have a very large selection of loose teas all expertly prepared-- steeped for the exact amount of time in the right temperature of water. The tea is served in a teapot and cozy. The tea room is not filled with stuffy victorian decor, but is very pleasant and dedicated to the modern enjoyment of tea.
The food is excellent, and pairs beautifully with their teas.
I go there to read a book and enjoy a peaceful lunch or chat with a friend.

I love this little shop. It is a great place to get a pot and hang out all afternoon with your laptop or favorite book. Their teas and preparation are superb. They also have excellent tea sandwiches and baked goods. They are much less fussy than 'Victorian' tea houses-- just a simple relaxed ambiance to enjoy fine tea and delicious food.

I ordered a pot of tea and a scone. The menu says 'served with lemon curd'. The menu did not say additional charge for the lemon curd. In my experiences visiting many different tea rooms I found this one to be very high for the small amount food you get. It may have changed since I was there, but the quality, quantity, and price quickly made me decide not to return.

Teatime is a casual cafe in downtown Palo Alto where you can stop in for a cup of tea or purchase teas to take home. They have many, many varieties of tea for sale behind the counter (green teas, oolongs, black teas, herbals etc) , as well as sweets such as brownies, lemon squares, scones etc. Everything is a la carte, and you can also get a selection of small sandwiches. It's very casual (no frills) and the sort of place you might go to read a book and enjoy a quiet, peaceful afternoon. The lemon squares are generous and tasty, and the black currant tea was excellent. They also offer some tea acessories such as tea pots, tea cups, strainers, etc.
