When you walk in…
you’ll immediately feel as though you are stepping back in time… to a very sophisticated establishment in a very cool moment in time.
Times were different, times were slow
Relaxed and read under chandelier’s glow
Clotted cream churned for freshly-baked scones
Presented together atop marble stone
Before plaster and plastic was terrazzo and red brick
1890 first saw this mahogany Brunswick
Before e-books, e-friends and social media hubs
Were real books, real friends and local supper clubs
Remember when food was fresh, friends were cherished and community mattered more?
To host the club was a labor of love and service not a chore
Bellies laughed and eyes smiled as familiar faces arrived
Cheers to when guests were friends and supper clubs thrived
A place there still may be, where locals oft convene
A daily jubilee – jovial North State’s treat
Where all the days are holidays, not a care in mind
From tea time to chardonnays, it’s liberty defined
Hang the mink, prime the flume
Gather round the stove
Classic drinks and comfort foods
Uptown’s treasure trove
Contented clocks unwind at dial, no deadlines can impose
Come on in and stay a while…
Asterisk – Where time slows

One of my favorite restaurants around Columbus! Prices are a bit high, so it is more of a once and a while treat for me, but the tea and food are all fantastic and their afternoon tea selections never disappoint

Excellent food with a good selection of teas. We went here for their tea service (served 12 to 4) and everything was delicious. Worth the cost for sure and the tea is unlimited. Service was great, too.

Beautiful location with a wall full of books I've only ever seen in Beauty & the Beast. Lovely atmosphere with chandeliers, mismatched furniture, and large capacity. The front room has a speakeasy vibe with the bar and ornate mirror. Food was good, tea was even better.

The most adorable restaurant in town. We ordered tea before lunch, and they brought it out in small teapots with vintage teacups and sugar cubes. Amazing! Next time we want to try the full tea service. Can't wait!

Seriously the nicest restaurant teatime I have had in the states. Wonderful, homemade treats and delicious tea service in a gorgeous atmosphere. Seriously beautiful. Walls of bookshelves, chandeliers, mis-matched tea services. So comfy and homey and delicious! Great staff too!
