ZenCha was always my lunch hour get-a-way. I have not been there in a long time and it has changed owners. I love the presentation of their tea selection - in the manner it would be served in that country. Such a great detail.

Variety: They had a decent selection of tea although there were a few I was hoping they might have that they didn't. Their tea seemed of decent + quality. We were trying to find a place that served Gong Fu style and nothing came up online and we were pleasantly surprised that they served our first tea with a Gong Fu pot. Unfortunately, they did not have the full Gong Fu service. Artistry: Eh - the environment was like Chipotle - semi modern and nothing thrilling. They had a variety of tea pots and served each tea with a different pot but I don't believe there was a reason behind it for their choices. Service: Poor. The young woman that served us was nice enough BUT I do not believe that she really listened to anything we had to say and they were not that busy. She had the same response to almost anything we sad. We had told her how we did not enjoy 2/3 teas and then she told us how she was glad we loved our experience haha. She was new, so take that for what it's worth but she knew NOTHING about the tea from the traditional hot teas to the bubble tea. We started with a couple of green teas and then decide to have an African Tea (I don't remember the name but it was supposed to be very citrusy and fruity in description) and she said we would really enjoy that compared to the other ones and then my husband and I started laughing because it tasted like cough syrup and she was like "Oh yea, that one totally does". Well, okay...shouldn't you have said something if you knew? I don't think she knew anything. I don't have a problem with her being new but she should have been paired with someone to answer questions about the teas. She didn't know the history, flavor, etc of any of them. I had never had bubble tea before and I asked her about that - again she knew nothing. I had to ask my FaceBook friends for advice. I did select one and semi enjoyed it but the only advice she could give me was how she liked hers but not why or why I might want to choose one pairing or another. Their website was out of date. We went because we saw they were open until 10pm. Another group came in and wanted to order at 9 and they said they were closing. We all told them their website says 10pm and they said they need to update that - please do. Food: I rated it as average as we did not have any and it does not allow me to select n/a. I did see several dishes pass by and they all looked pretty ordinary - there wasn't anything that went by where I was like oh, I need to try that.

An overwhelming disappointment. Four of us had a reservation for Sunday brunch. We waited on line for almost 15 minutes to be seated, although there were at least 2 empty tables. Service was extremely slow. The table wasnt set, and napkins and utensils werent brought out until after the food was served. By noon, they were already out of at least 3 items on the menu. I ordered a waffle, then 5 minutes later the server came back to say they were all out of waffles so I selected something else from the menu. Five minutes after that he came back to say that another customer had ordered a waffle but changed their mind so I could have a waffle after all. I said I would have the waffle, but in retrospect that was a bad move. By the time our food was served 20 minutes later, the leftover waffle was hard and stale. Meanwhile, the entire time we were waiting for our food we were also waiting for our tea. How long does it take to boil water...especially in a tea shop?? The tea selection was wide-ranging. However, the store is poorly managed, poorly operated. Definitely will not go to Zen Cha again.

My husband and I stumbled onto this place on our walk around the Short North. The food was wonderful (Sat. brunch) and loved the tea! Tea list was extensive but had lots of information to aid you in your choice. Do not expect a dash in dash out experience. Service was at a slower pace which was wonderful for us and let us enjoy our day out!! Server was nice and didn't mind answering questions and making suggestions. Looking forward to returning again and again.

This is my favorite tea shop in town. They offer over a 100 teas and the staff works to try to find a tea that fits your mood. The food selection is more like a restaurant then a tea room. The kitchen staff creates and develops each item on the menu. I think its amazing to here who created what item on the menu, and the fact they make several of the dishes completely from scratch. But their brunch is not to be missed on weekend mornings.
The atmosphere is very calming and soothing.

Tea House??? I have been to dozens of Tea Houses in Ohio and other States. Where is the AWESOME tea breads,Cakes, Pies and other special deserts that people enjoy with tea? And the soup! There was so much fat on the chicken you could hardly eat it. The service was terrible. A tall girl that was behind the work station delivered our food and no silverware. You'd better send her to Culinary school so she can learn to be a Chef! Most Tea Houses have a variety of sandwiches and soups, salads, a refill on tea in pretty Tea Pots with nice linen on the tables. I will not recommend this Tea House to anyone.

When you enter you get a welcome like you're at a Waffle House, very distracting for those already dining. The quality of the food tastes like it came out of the freezer. If you are looking for decent tea, however, this place is acceptable, just get it to go, because the welcom stops at the door.

I love this place. It is one of the best tea shops I have ever been to. Right now it seems like they are trying to find themselves though, it has changed since I first started going years ago. The food offerings are getting better, despite the loss of the artistic deserts they used to have. But the tea is still the best part. I would recommend the place to anyone who likes tea.

ZenCha is my favorite tea house. The staff are always friendly, bidding you a warm 'welcome' when entering. The ambience is very soothing and calming -- very Zen. Often gentle music plays. (Avoid Gallery Hop nights, however.) ZenCha offers over 100 teas from all over the world. I especially love their delicious bubble tea (it is not made of the powdery stuff that some 'tea' places sell). Recently, they have hired some chefs and now offer a thoughtfully prepared menu with sandwiches, soups, salads, and yummy desserts (all home-made). ZenCha cannot be beat. It's one of my favorite places to go!

Zen Cha is where I visit when I need a break from life. Their variety of teas and comfortable atmosphere make a perfect getaway for quiet meditation.

Zencha is one of those hot spots that is still able to maintain a calming, quiet atmostphere. The breadth of tea available is staggering, and the presentation changes to suit the chosen tea. The desserts are to die for, and Zencha has an amazing food menu with light, Asian-inspired fare. The daily lunch special is always a winner, includes choice of tea, and all for under $9! Whether you are there for just a tea or a meal, you will not leave unsatisfied!

I love to seek solace in this calm yet cool tea shop after a hectic day. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their wide array of teas(full-leaf), mostly listed by origin. I love that they serve different types of teas in different types of teapots. I especially love their coconut chai and lychee bubble tea. Also, their brunch, only served on weekends, is not to be missed! Chai waffles and earl grey pancakes are a few of their delectable options. I have become a tea love thanks to this place.

I love this place so much that sometimes I'll drive two hours from my home just for the tea and atmosphere Zencha offers. I'm a big fan of asian tea culture and no other tea houses around offer a sense of eastern tea culture in their modern tea house like Zencha. The service is excellent and the owner and staff are very knowledgeable.

I have been going to ZenCha for five or six years now. I do not live in Columbus anymore, but everytime I am this tea salon is at the top of my list. My favorite are their African blends. I always take a box of safari tea home with me. The desserts are wonderful as well! I keep on searching for a place like this where I live now, but nothing has even come close to comparing with ZenCha.

ZenCha has a beautiful modern atmosphere. Their tea menu includes teas from many different regions, and each is served in the traditional method from that region. The prices may seem a bit high, but if you compare them to the cost of a grande latte at other places, it really is reasonable. The food is great too. Try the 'Royale' dessert - to die for!

At Zen Cha there I experienced an eclectic selection of tea, artfully served by a staff that is both knowledgeable and uncommonly friendly. Was there anything not to like? The drive from Florida was a bit far but I’d say it was worth it.

A friend an I were driving up High Street in the 'Short North' area when I noticed the tea room. We decided to try it out and were surprisingly charmed by the decor, teas and the owner who was tending to his cafe. We tried three different milk teas that day and were quite satisfied. We came back for the lunch special which included a large bowl of noodles, choice of tea, a helping of brownies and a fruit cup for around $9 each. It was a nice pick-me-up before traveling back to the East Coast.I had my Jasmine milk tea and she had a bubble tea. We will definitely return when we are back in town!

Please Go! The tea is awesome, the soup is awesome and the deserts are to live for. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing, I only wish they had a place like Zencha in Cincinnati and Kentucky. Newport on the Levy would be a great place for a contemporay teahouse. It's a awesome place to go.

I had the good fortune to be at ZenCha on their opening day and IChen has only improved the shop since then. Whenever I am in Columbus I try to make it in for a lovely cup of tea. The fruit ices are excepional for summer and the rose latte was what I requested after my daughter was born.
