I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK. What a fabulous lunch experience. I went with a few girlfriends and was so surprised that this restaurant has been right in my neighborhood and I never knew it. The service fantastic. The food delicious. The atmosphere so relaxing. Go and see for yourself.

Went their with daughter and Mom's. Wow what a nightmare! First we did have reservations. Bought us Lipton tea bags for tea! What's that all @ Come on you go to the tea shop to get special tea not Lipton at their high prices. Now there was 4 of us. They only gave us 3 scones. Server was in a really bad mood because the red hat society was there not my problem. Waited 45 min. before she even took our order and then they were out of the specials. Was upset to say the least. Then, when it came dessert time she just laid down the check Mother-in-law said what no dessert? Server was very rude and snapped We are out of dessert and walked away. Horrible place food was awful. I have been to several tea rooms and this place should not be called a tea room

I have been to this tea room many many times over and recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing and enjoyable experience the food is wonderful try the earl grey chicken you'll be hooked. Its not a fast passed established so dont go unless you have time to spare, its such a nice change from the usual noisy crowed restaurants. Its also a great place to treat someone to a special day out.I wish more places like this existed.

I was looking to take my friend, who was visiting from Virginia, out for a special lunch. The Tea Room on Madison was recommended. I had never been to a tea room before, I'm a coffee gal, rather, I was a coffee gal. We were blown away. The Entrance is lovely, the hostess invited us to look around and when we were ready to sit she showed us to an alcove that was inviting, warm and tastefully decorated. We felt as though we were dining in a doll house. The service was prompt and we were not hurried, we were invited to stay as long as we like and enjoy the atmosphere. The music was relaxing, the atmosphere calm and our waitress was charming. The scones were delicious; the pumpkin bread smelled as good as it tasted and the house salad is dried cranberries, cranberry sauce, raspberry dressing and a dollop of sour cream on top, it was a gourmet salad to me! I had the Earl Grey chicken breast w/champaign sauce that melted in your mouth; my friend had the Hampton which was chicken breast with a tasty, spicy, sauce and it was wonderful. We had blueberry iced tea - we had never had blueberry tea before and we are hooked. Naturally we had dessert, an ice cream crepe w/cherries, chocolate and whipped cream, again beautifully presented and delicious. We can't wait to go back. Lovely and comfortable.

My Mother and I visited this tea room on a Thursday. We arrived after the lunch rush. The decor was great and we loved the fact the tea room was in a floral shop. Fabulous Scones and we had Earl Grey Chicken and broccoli dish which was to die for. Two might choose to share this entree, neither of us were able to finish ours. The scones were great! The one thing we would have liked was for brewed pots of tea to be offered not teabags and hotwater. Its worth the trip and was overall a delightful experience. We will return.

My husband and I went there on a Saturday without a reservation. We had never been to a tea room before, so we really didn't know you needed one. I am kicking around the idea of opening a tea shop and starting to do research. This was my first one.

The ladies who greeted us were not overly friendly, but we were seated right away. The decor is beautiful since the shop is also a floral shop. Very cute and quaint.

Our server was a delight. She was very friendly and warm. The tea came in bags, and she gave me about eight different kinds and said I was welcome to try them all and she would fill my water as needed--and she did.

The scones were delicious! So fresh, best scones I've ever had. The food was good. I had a wrap that was almost too much for me and my husband had a pork sandwich. He liked it, but it was dry, it needed sauce or something, but other wise it was good.

Overall our experience was wonderful. For the price we paid, it was well worth our drive there. I plan to take my mother as she is a tea lover. I know she will love it.

I have been here several times. Every time has been a delight. The food is excellent and it's just the cutest place! Only once was service a little slow, but that was because they were baking the scones right then and there! Wonderful! You can't rush quality.

I spent the day in Merrillville shopping and heard about the Tearoom on madison and decided to go for lunch. Well it was not what I expected at all, The service was bad the food was cold and there was only 1 person working and they could not answer any thing I asked about the menu. Not worth the trip at all.

Awesome lunch with Excellent food - more then the usual tearoom fair. Ample portions, fair prices and nice service.

Tea was pre-packaged bags of tried & true brands. Water was nice & hot! Tables can be a bit cramped, but we were in a lovely litte private alcove that was too cute for words. Other tables in the other dining rooms had more space & room.

The tea room is not marked on the outside and is relly in a florist/gift shop. If you're going there, keep a eagle eye out for it. We found it by the number of cars parked in front and the stream of ladies going in.

I really recommend this place. They even have a children's menu, but since the place so very decorated (over decorated really) with a lot of breakables all over - I'd keep the grabby, curious ones at home.

Excellent! A very warm and charming place. The service was excellent even though they were very busy. And, well, the food and food presentation were fantantic. Their menu, two full pages, isn't your usual tea sandwiches though. They offer a full menu from salads to dinners. I have to admit that because I was impressed with it's charm and the friendliness of the staff that I was prepared for a one-star lunch. I was wrong -- the food was excellent and my friends agreed. And, their fresh-baked berry scones are to die for! We had a delightful time and are looking forward to going back very soon. I've been to most of the tearooms in the Chicago area and wouldn't hesitate to drive to this one again.
