Came in without reservations and the hostess was gracious and accomodating.
The food was varied although not the best I have tried. The portions, including the scones and devonshire cream, were generous. Loved the cucumber infused water.
The ambiance was relaxing even though it was in the middle of an antiques shop.
Overall, nice but not great. I would stop by again!

The service is excellent. The owner is always checking on you. Going to tea houses is a birthday tradition mom and me have started after her 60th birthday. We went to Longfellows because we wanted to try it and go to the outlet mall near by. This is a great antique store and the tea is very good, but it was medicore compare to other tea houses we have been. If you do plan on poppig in make sure you make a reservation or you will not be able to eat.

The Charms offers three different teas--Cream Tea ($7), Sweet Tea ($10) and Charmed Tea ($16). My husband and I chose the Sweet Tea. With it we were each served two different types of scones, coconut cookies, chocolate eclairs, brownies and a piece of quiche. Everything was delicious and very filling. The Tea was also very fairly priced. Our server (who was also the owner) did her absolute best to ensure we enjoyed every minute of visit. I would recommend the Charms of Leffingwell to anyone who likes to visit old houses, enjoys antiques and who likes tea and scones.

Three of us had a lovely tea service at the Charms of Leffingwell yesterday. We each ordered a different tea and my Mango tea was excellent. The food was very hearty for a tea room. Multiple scones right out of the oven in three flavors including a lavendar. Ample clotted cream and two kinds of preserves. Three varieties of sandwiches plus a small square of quiche. Fresh fruit, brownies and coconut macaroons rounded out the feast. I was quite full. The decor is a bit early attic. This is an antiques and collectibles shop in addition to being a tea room. For those of you who follow Mary Kay Andrews books and blog, it's right up her alley. This is a good rendezvous place for those wishing for lunch before or after a trip to the Ellenton Outlet Mall. It beats the local Ruby Tuesday's by a mile. We'll be back next year when my snowbird cousin arrives again.

The selection of teas, about 10-15 flavors and all loose leaf as far as I could tell, were excellent. We tried the Mango and the Vanilla. Both were very good. The tea pots are bigger than at other places so, for 4 people, we only had 2 teas.
The scones are TO DIE FOR. They are backed fresh - after you arrive and sit down. They just melted in our mouth. We have lavender scones and apricot scones. The tea sandwiches were also very good and different from what we've experienced at other tea rooms in the Tampa Bay area. The sweets were also very good - the only 'traditional' sweets were brownie bites, which were very moist. Otherwise, there were key lime cookies, delicious cream puffs, and macaroons. There was so much food, we took leftover home.
The service was fabulous. Bobbie is an excellent hostess.
The location is easy to get to (close to the outlet mall so go shopping first, then have tea or vice versa). And the house is full of antiques/collectibles that are wonderful to see.
I highly recommend CHARMS of Leffingwell!

The hostess is so CHARMing that the name of the tea room fits perfectly. This tea room has wonderful treasures in each room. I thoroughly enjoyed the walnut and raisin scones with jam and clotted cream. She served delicious tea sandwiches that were generously portioned and flavorful!

A perfect place to relax and forget the troubles of the world. The hostess was charming and very hospitable and shared the wonderful history of the 100 year old cottage with us. The variety of antiques are unique and reasonably priced and with so many rooms to explore, our hostess had to come and find us. 'Ladies, your tea is ready!' I could have stayed for another hour, but we'd already been there for two. The food was wonderful and substantial, even men would enjoy the selections. The best lavender scones I've ever had and the clotted cream was delicious. I can't say enough about this priceless little gem, except to say we'll be back soon and with friends

I am Queen Mum of the Bradenton Babes Red Hat Chapter. My chapter and I took tea at Leffingwell's last February and found it to be a wonderful experience. The home is one of the oldest in the area and has a wonderful history. Our hostess shared the wonderful history of Leffingwells as well as being a perfect hostess.

What a delighTEAful experience! I took a chance since there were no reviews on this website but I was pleasantly surprised. The tea room is in the middle of a beautiful antique shop. The lavender scones served fresh from the oven are hands down the best scones I have ever had. And they are served with a generous amount of devonshire cream. The rest of the food was wonderful as well. I left very full, which sometimes is hard to come by. The owner was oh so charming, which fits her store name appropriately. I loved all of her personal touches. From her herself to the fresh cucumber slices in the water pitcher. I truly felt as if I had walked back into time. I will definitely be back soon. Finally there is a wonderful tea room in Manatee County.
