I am ashamed to say that this review has been a long time coming! Here it is October 8th and I threw my daughter's baby shower at Tranquilitea on June 22nd. Let me just say, that it was so beautiful and special, that I have not ever thought for a moment that I would not be sitting here writing this glowing review. I wanted so many people to be able to attend this shower that the owner Marjory allowed for me to reserve the lovely little tea shoppe for both the morning and the afternoon! We actually had two back to back showers and it was really fun. All of my guests were entranced by the quaint and serene beauty of Tranquilitea. None of them had ever been to a tea cottage before and they were all so amazed at every aspect of the experience. The tasty and soothing teas, the delicious and delectable traditional food, the delightful ambience was delicate and feminine and was the perfect place for our baby shower. It would be equally wonderful as a venue for a bridal shower, a lady's retirement party, and I have peeked in the door once when there have been little girls, all dressed up in their finery, celibrating a fancy birthday! I live and hour and a half away from Tranquilitea and my guests all wondered why I would make them travel so far, I'm sure, but when they had the experience they understood completely! Marjory is a doll, and so is her Lady helper Marisa. They are long time friends and both come from Scotland. I sent decorations in the mail to be set under the glass table tops and they even did that for me ahead of time before they set the breath taking tables. People are still mentioning the wonderful time they had and we all will be back!

With an incredible eye for detail, the owner, Marjory (who hails from Scotland) has created an environment Victorian in style but also calming and comfortable that not only amazingly caters to the palate but also gives one the feeling that they are vacationing in a little seaside town in England.
The service was excellent as was the menu and presentation.
It's two thumbs up from me.

I came here with my cousins and our little girls. This was our best experience at a a tea room and I believe we all agree that this is our favorite. Beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. The owner is a delightful lady who was very attentive and she made sure we had an enjoyable visit. Our little girls loved the pink tea and their mini version of the three tiered servers. Everything was perfect.

A very enjoyable place. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the service is great, there are a wide variety of teas to choose from, and all of the food is wonderful.
I tried the 'Raw Foods Tier' which is vegan, organic, and very tasty. The chips and patés it comes with went well together. If you're not vegan, there's also the sausage rolls, which are equally delicious.
I felt very relaxed when I left. The shop and the area are quiet and calm and the beach is only a couple of blocks away when you're done.

My husband and I drove over an hour to get to this tea room. It was well worth it! I would say this is one of the best tea rooms in Northern California, and I have been to many. The food was so good, best scones I've had. My husband even commented on how fresh the food was. The owner was very nice. The room is sweetly decorated, very pretty and tranquil. We will definitely be back.

This was the best experience my husband and I have had! The food was incredible and the tea variety was great. My only problem was trying to choose which one! Service was excellent. Owner is very personable. Presentation was very traditional and well done. Very reasonably priced compared to others in the area. A real jewel of the bay area!

What a lovely place! We were delighted to find this tearoom and really enjoyed our first visit. The presentation is wonderful, with lots of beautiful little touches. We've visited about five tea shops in California and England and this is top of the line. As we told the owner, we enjoyed it much more than tea at Fortnum and Mason in London. We'll be going back again!

What a wonderful pleasant place. I organized a baby shower of about 16 people and the owner Marjourie is so nice and attentive. Always making sure that we are doing ok and if there's anything she can do to make our experience merrier. I brought my 4.5yr. old daughter and she made her feel special with heart shaped peanut butter & jelly sandwiches with a cup of hot chocolate that was topped with whipped cream & sugar sprinkles. The decor & china is very girly and lovely. The tea was so fragrant and the scones were very fresh and yummy. We will definitely be returning soon.

This is an absolutely charming place ~ bright, cheerful, lovely place settings, and the tea-related items (most for sale) on shelves and hutches around the tearoom create a perfect atmosphere. The menu of teas is quite extensive ~ more than I've seen at most other tearooms I've been to ~ and the service was absolutely attentive and quite friendly. All of the food items were delicious ~ sandwiches, scones, salad, shortbread. Five of us had our annual holiday tea here, and happened to choose a rainy day where we were the only ones there for most of the afternoon, so we had a chance to linger, look at all the goodies, and chat with the owner. We agreed that we definitely would return.

Tea Room, very British, all tables have matching sets of Bone China. The selection of TEAS, is from, black teas, green teas, organic teas & etc. The foods are very good, which include, shephards pie, sauage rolls, shortbread cookies & etc. A great place to relax with a, POT OF FRESH BREWED TEA.

This is a fantastic place! I went last year with my partner, son and daughter for Valentine's Day. The food was superb, and the owner went out of her way to make everything special. It was a perfect afternoon, and my son loved it just as much as the rest of us. It is a great place to bring boys and girls, and a great treat for parents.

What a hidden gem! My daughter and I had tea on Sunday, and this tea room was simply delightful! Open for nearly a year, the place is decorated in a shabby chic sort of style, very pretty, with lavender walls and artwork and tea accessories all around. Each table is set with a different set of tea cups. The menu has several options including shepherd’s pie and sausage rolls, but we opted for the full afternoon tea. Served on a silver 3-tiered tray, we had a warm scone with Devonshire cream and jam, salad and an assortment of sandwiches. There is a nice tea selection as well, and tea is served in beautiful tea pots. Our tea was refilled before we even asked! After we finished, we chose to get a dessert from a selection of petit fours, which were later served to us in glass domes. The presentation was exquisite and the service impeccable! I will definitely be returning soon!
