I have been coming here for many years except the name is spelled wrong it should be Hicks and McCarthy. There is a nice selection of whole leaf teas. The scones are very good as long as they keep the original recipe that they started out using. Ownership had changed a few years ago but they have kept up the quality of the tea. It's an enjoyable afternoon tea with a nice view of the town while dining.

Hicks and McCarthy is a good local restaurant in the village of Pittsford. We've enjoyed two or three pleasant teas here over the past few years. The back tea room is more 'elegant' than 'charming'. The savory items are the strong point -- perhaps not surprising given the good quality of the restaurant food. The sweet items are good enough, and along with the pleasant ambience, an overall pleasant place for tea. Note: this restaurant changed ownership mid-2011, and our experiences were prior to that.

Very fancy china and knick knacks... snobby staff and awful food. What's the point of having fancy teapots and napkin rings if the food and service doesn't live up to the setting. And dont' forget... EXPENSIVE for what it is.

Tea with a princess
We has a 3 generatinal tea with my mother, sister, my 3 year old and my infant son for a full tea as a treat after seeing The Nutcracker. It was a wonderful experience. Gorgeous table setting, delicious offering with tea. Great scones and finger sandwiches. Even the jam was top quality. The best tea we've ever been too.

I am local tea owner from Wayne County, and although I love to serve afternoon tea, - I truly enjoy having it served it to me. I arranged a tea at Hicks & McCarthy as a Birthday celebration for a special aunt. The tea was wonderful. The table was set beautiful and I loved the scones! I thought the pricing was VERY reasonable also! Thank you for such a a nice afternoon!

What a wonderful place to enjoy afternoon tea. The environment is inviting, the food scrumptious and the service is 5 stars! I have brought my daughter here for her birthdays and it is now a tradition for her and I on this special day. I have also enjoyed the afternoon there with friends slowly enjoying our tea and company. I cannot recommend this place enough!
