For the price, this is not worth it. We paid $55 each for the high tea and so we (not surprisingly) had high expectations.
Unfortunately most of the savories were not very exciting and while the service was good, overall we were disappointed. The tea room itself is very elegant, so moms who are not picky about their food would probably love it. (Mine is just as picky as me. :))
The $20+ for parking left an even more sour taste in the mouth.

First things first, yes, it's pricey. I went for Holiday tea and it was $55 a person. It is, however, a very beautiful room in a beautiful hotel that was all decorated for the holidays. Great for that special occasion and for enjoying the whole experience of high tea. There is a limited selection of teas but the choices offered were very nice and each person gets their own pot which was refilled often. The food was excellent with small sandwich type savories, fresh scones and lovely pastries. They serve everything on the tea tower but don't be discouraged at how small things are because they come around with a tray and refill anything you like, as many times as you like! Loved that. Our server, Ali, was gracious and polite and sent us home with an overflowing doggie box. He knows how to make his customers happy.

While the tea selection was not as extensive as that available in other places, it had the traditional teas I wanted. The food tray consisted of two types of scones, some finger quiches, and delicious desserts, but none of the traditonal watercress or cucumber sandwhiches. Everyone had their own pots of cream and jam, so we didn't feel guilty slathering on the cream. The attentive service was amazing, with our pots refilled constantly with piping hot water. The china was also exquisite. At the end, they sent us home with extra scones in our 'doggie bag.' It's pricey, but a beautiful setting good for a special occasion.

Average at best. I have been to many tea rooms in the US and abroad and I did not feel that this high tea was tradionally English. I have been here twice now, hoping to give them a second chance. The service was poor as was the tea. Our pot was not warmed up with additional hot water after the first pour. The food was overly diminutive and ridiculously 'gourmet', not traditional in the least. The atmosphere felt like we were sitting on the set of an episode of the Golden Girls. Florida tacky. The palm room I believe it was- each time. Hardly a traditional tea room feel and atmosphere. Especially during the holidays. In England, at Christmas, High tea has not Christmas 'themed' anywhere I have ever been. Nor should it be here. Tacky. I expected a lot more from the Fairmont. If you want a 'traditional' English high tea, please don't spend your money here.

Excpect to pay $35 each plus tip for the highest quality afternoon tea offered in Seattle. The tea selection is small, but covers all the bases. The highlight here is the gorgeous, relaxing and quiet atmosphere and the delectable tea time food. This is the place to go to experience English style tea time like a true aristocrat.
