been there couple of time and i have to say their food/tea are pretty good, but their service....people who understand mandarin should stop by in the afternoon when the owner is not around, you will be amazed...
case #1 - i walked in and wanna get a cup of tea, the guy with a glasses on was sitting by the cash register looked at me and was shaking his head. i walked toward him and placed my order, he then asked a waitress in the back to make the tea for me. the girl basically yelled at him loud and clear 'u are right next to the bar, why dont u just do it urself?!' he replied 'i am about to enjoying my tea and then she walked in!!' oops..mister, sorry i came in the wrong time... next time u should put up a sign saying 'we're taking a break, come back later'
case #2 - after a horrible service one day, finally the waitress brought me the check and said to me 'hey, if u have enough cash on u, can u pay the tip in cash?' .. sorry, i didnt know i am REQUIRED to PAY tips especially after i found out u couldnt remember anything i said about what i need.
case #3 - walked in for lunch, the entire dining room was filled with hate. all the waiters and waitresses were yelling at each other with 'mother fucker..blah blah.. ' 'fuck u..blah blah ..' of coz, in mandarin. The waitress even gave me the place mat and a menu then told me to seat myself (no big deal, i can do that myself, u just continue ur yelling and screaming with other employees). through out the entire meal, all i heard was them yelling and cursing at each other. I got up to get my check, figured they probably wouldnt pay attention to me. so one of the cashier got my check and credit card, he asked me if i have any cash, i said no (i realized they have a minimum to use credit card) the cashier looked at me and looked at the check again, he walked away. thought he might need to talk to someone higher about using credit card for payment so i waited. another cashier came up to me and asked me what do i want, i said 'oh im just waiting to pay' he said 'oh, how come that guy didn't help u to that?' i said i dont know, he turned around and yelled 'hey why didn't u help her? u were here werent u?' that guy replied 'oh, cuz i dont want to' and then my friend told me, that guy didn't want to accept my card and just walked away cuz he didnt want to get in trouble for taking credit card payment thats under the minimum. but hey... at least let me know whats going on before u walk away.. or ask someone else to help. ..and what the heck is 'oh, cuz i dont want to'
case #4 - ordered 'regular milk black tea with boba' and got 'regular milk black tea' so i asked the cashier if he can put some boba in there and i can pay for it if he didnt charge me on that. got a reply 'hey miss, u said u didnt want boba, u want regular milk black tea' .. i said 'its ok, maybe i didnt make it clear or maybe u didnt hear it, but can u just add some in there?' he wouldnt let it go 'wait, so r u saying im wrong? im pretty sure u didnt say u want boba in there' ... ' ok, i didnt say it, can u now please add some in there?' .. 'yeah.. of coz i can, just dont try to blame it on me when u didnt order what u wanted' .... (god, did i just killed someone or set a fire??? just wanted some boba in my tea and its such a big deal on who's fault was it??)
all these happened when the owner was not there. so people who understand mandarin and have nothing to do, maybe u should stop by and just liten to the employees.
anyway.. i think i am done with them..
GOOD LUCK GUYS!!! hope u will have a wonderful tea time at THE TEA STATION, Culver Dr., Irvine, CA

I completely agree with the second comment. The first poster is a complete idiot. I've tried lots of different places before, and Tea Station is one my favorites. They use real tea, with actual tea leaves, not the powdered type of drinks many others places use. Their food is not the greatest, neither is their service. But I still go back there time and time again(about 3-4 times a week) just because they have great tea.

Not Spending here again is a dumb shit

Not Spending here again
We drove 45 miles to the Tea Station in Irvine. Big mistake! Unlike your typical Coffee houses of today, this place wasn't even open at 10 a.m. The door was open, so I walked in. The guy behind the counter says,'No tea ready.' Ugh. I went back at 11:15. If you get your tea to go, it won't look anything like the hopped up pictures on the menu. They've got no service and they've got no style. The tea was tasty enough, but I bet I could make it at home or find a better tea house! PS What's with the creepy, pearly white stuff in the spring rolls!?!

I had the beef noodle tea and it was good, but it had low quality noodles. I had the pork dumplings and it was nothing special. What I don't like is that from one or both of those items contained too much salt, because I was very thirsty after eating them. And where is their web site address?

Enjoy life
As long as I follow their store policy, I had never having any problem with their servie. I recently went to a place where they are going to shut down due to bad business. I ask the owner for the reason, and he told me, no one actually buying their drinks and food, most of time a whole 4 people group only order 1 snack and the other brout in their own food. The owner wanted to be nice so he allow the situation to happen. Somehow, customers get used to the 'bring own food' situation, and the place not making any money. The owner start to realize the situation after 1 year and start to put out store rules, but too late, old customers left, and new customers not coming in, end up the store has to close. As of reading the last review, I start to wonder, who (customers or store) is more pathetic? Do we as a customer really understand the store policy of others. Did we ever go to 'Cheese Cake Factory' order togo and endup seating there, open up the togo box and eat? Or going to 'Olive Garden' with a group of people but eatting our own lunch box from home? So who is actually 'Pathetic', us the customer or the store?

Tea Station is Pathetic
the service is terrible and I had a bad experience in two locations, one in Irvine Culver Center and one at the Irvine Spectrum.
I had ordered a shaved ice togo and decided to eat it there because I was waiting for a friend and the place was pratically empty, they asked me to leave because I ordered it to go. Completely pathetic service.
At the spectrum, I came in with my friends and was holding a drink, we all sat down and ordered and I was asked to leave because I brought in an outside drink, there was no warning sign out front either, how embarrassing it was for me.
These people at Tea Station are idiots, they have no clue how to run a business, no clue how to train there staff, but they really know how treat you badly and drain your pockets in return.
Tea Station can be described in one word, 'Pathetic!'

The variety of teas at this location is very good. I definetly enjoy the milk-pudding tea with boba. Most of the teas with boba here are good. The service does not really exist at this location. They are more a tea house, then a diner. One big problem I had with this location was that I had hair in my tea! I was so upset, and disgusted that I threw out my tea. I was too far from the location to go back and complain. This was a one time experience, but this tea station needs to be more careful when preparing their drinks.

tonight i had perhaps the worst dining experience ever. and the strangest thing is, i didn't even eat anything. the tea at this location is fine. there's nothing special about the variety offered nor the presentation of the tea. it's average. the dining experience itself is absolutely horrendous. the staff literally is not caring nor concerned about the diners whatsoever. requests have to be made many times before the service is performed. when it is finally given, the staff are incredibly rude and point-blank insulting. the food is either average quality or highly greasy. the only good thing about the food is the low prices, but i'm not willing to pay for the indigestion and food poisoning i've received. when i returned to this cafe to inform them of my horrible experience, they were uninterested and flat out didn't give a shit. there are also very strict dining-in rules that consistently conveys their uninterest in customer satisfaction. you cannot bring in outside food, you MUST order at least one item per person to sit there, and you cannot charge anything less than $20. this tea station location needs a complete overhaul in service, staff and food quality. if you must patronize this location, get tea only.

Go for the tea and light meals. Decide whether the service is worth it... My teas, boba and food is always stellar, but the waiters and waitresses leave a lot to be desired. On my most recent visit, I waited for ten mimutes for one of three empty tables to be cleaned before we had a chance to be seated. Woman at the cash register is always smiling and friendly, but the staff is rude, inconsiderate and unfriendly.

I've been here several times and in my experience, the food is good and the tea is pretty good. Some flavored teas taste quite like a fruity perfume. I am not sure if it is because the combination of tea and flavor is too high or low. During every visit, I did not receive good service. The waiters and waitresses looked and acted unfriendly and were not polite. I also don't like that Tea Station does not accept credit card purchases under $20. However, the decorations are nice and it is a nice location.

didn't get good service, lack of communication between customer and employee
