This is an excellent place to explore teas, particularly high quality Chinese teas. Their selection of Phoenix Oolong teas is fantastic and they now have a tasting menu that allows you to sample a variety of different teas, which has been great for my tea education. The staff is knowledgeable and genuinely enjoy talking about tea.
They always have some pastries, but you need to call ahead if you want to arrange a 'High Tea' style meal.

Tea Habitat is the kind of teashop I wish I could open myself. The decor combines modern western and traditional Chinese into comfort and functionality.
The quality of the teas is top-notch; the selection satisfies the western and traditional palates with anything from high-grade oolongs to rooibos blends.
The staff go above and beyond retail/food service: they've hired tea lovers or managed to convert them into tea lovers in a short time. They speak about tea and teaware with real enthusiasm.
This tucked away spot is probably the best place in LA County to get excellent Chinese tea!
