This is not a traditional tea room. They do not offer English high tea service. However, it is a charming restaurant in an old/vintage home. Servers were very friendly and helpful with my food selections. I arrived late in the day and they very graciously served me even though they were beginning to clean up for the day. I sampled quiche, chicken salad, soup, and dessert...all were good.

We visited Chantillys in hopes of being served high tea, but was told that they were no longer operating as a tea room that Gastonia did not support the tea room concept. I really think that is a shame. You could tell by the decor that the owner did open as a tea room once. Nevertheless, the food was okay, but the service was excellent.

The food here was fabulous! I am from out of town and always look for the nearest tea house. The selection of actual teas was low because of the holidays; however, the iced tea was delicious and the ambiance and food made up for any lack of actual tea selection. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely go here again!

I took my daughter-in-law here for brunch a couple weeks ago. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere was delightful. Our wait person ( a young man) was wonderful and attentive. I was a little surprised at that, I must say. The desserts are to die for. I am taking my husband there for brunch for part of his Father's Day present. It's great!!!

I took my visiting niece here for afternoon tea. She was very excited and brought a special outfit for the occasion. We were the only guests that afternoon and it was truly disappointing. We were served cold, obviously several-days-old scones, uninspired sandwiches, and one (!) large cupcake. I have experienced many afternoon teas in this country and England, and this tearoom is definitely not worth your time.
