My mother and I went for a afternoon tea on a Saturday. From the moment we walked Into the lovely bed and breakfast we felt welcomed. We were escorted downstairs to the tea room where we were seated next to a warm fireplace. Wearing Victorian hats made the experience that much more fun and enjoyable. All of the food was delicious from the brownie bites and cucumber water to the creative yet classic tea sandwiches, scones, hot tea and fresh fruit we were thoroughly full with leftovers to bring home and enjoy. Thanks again! We will definitely be back with our friends and loved ones.

Twinings tea served. Food was delicious. I go to a tea for the scones and these were wonderful. The variety of sandwiches were all delicious. The fruit and 'puddings' (deserts) were the perfect combo with the tea. Very friendly atmosphere. The ladies taking tea prior to us were in full Victorian dress while we were very casual. Wonderful Afternoon Tea. Highly recommend the Victorian Tea Room in Ocean Grove.

The weather outside was hot and humid which made our Afternoon Tea experience all the more pleasurable at the Lillagaard. It is a cool and relaxing atmosphere and we served quite a lot delicious food. We even decided to 'dress up' in one of the many gorgeous hats that are in the Tea Room for guests to wear!

WONDERFUL experience. Attention to detail was superb! Loved the food and the fine china! The wait staff was so friendly and very attentive. Can't wait to go back . I felt like I was back in the Victorian era .

Outstanding!! The friendly proprietors pay attention to every detail and are very accommodating. All food is prepared and baked on site--delicious!! The fine china adds to the ambience of a wonderful tea room. And, if one detail is missed each table has a bell to ring for personalized service.

What a true joy my daughter, Amanda's babyshower was at the Victorian Tea Room.
It was a delightful experience for all of us.
Everyone who came commented on what a different idea it was for a shower and how much fun they had.
My six year old neice was treated to a special
tea spread of her own and was delighted.
I would highly reccommend The Victorian Tea Room to anyone. Jane and Bonya were so nice to work with.

I have had tea here several times and it was always excellent. During many of OG's house/inn tours, there are times that they will offer complimentary refreshments - during the Chocolate weekend, they had almond bars I would have killed for! If there wasn't anyone looking, I would have taken all of them

This is the second visit to this tearoom. My first was with a friend and we were both in awe of the beautiful setting, the unmatched attention to detail and delicious, fresh food. I just had my daughter's baby shower and everything exceeded our expections.I would highly recommend visiting this quaint tearoom.

My husband and I were holding a rehearsal 'dinner' in the afternoon for our son's morinng wedding rehearsalin August. Our funds were somewhat limited but we wanted to hold something 'reasonable but respectable' to go with the bride's fancy 'New York' wedding.
Since my husband and I had a tearoom wedding reception ourselves, we decided to select a tearoom in NJ.
Sight unseen, except for internet pictures, we chose the Victorian Tea Room. What a delight!! The food preparation was gourmet and supurb!(Our table voted on favorite tea sandwiches.)
All the ladies and even most of the men wore a lovely assortment of hats porvided by the tearoom, including a special Bride's hat.The managers and chef Jane and Bojana were wonderful party hostesses. The attendees were raving about how lovely and fun it was for several days and bride and groom were extremely pleased!

I took a good friend for her 40th Birthday and had a wonderful afternoon. Our favorite sandwich was the curry chicken salad. They had plenty of tea to chose from and we each had our own pot, very good. The scones and lemon bars yummy. The service was wonderful. Very enjoyable and relaxing. It was nice to be a block from the beach too. We were able to walk off all that good food and tea.

The Lillagaard was a pleasure! My tea party was a girl/bachelorette outing and we all had a wonderful time. We were all late for the reservation due to traffic and the hostess could not have been nicer about our 30 minute lateness. We were severed more food then we could eat and more tea then we could drink. I have already recommended this tea house to others.

We had a wonderful experience. We felt this tearoom was better than the others we have visited down in Cape May. The attention to detail and the service were excellant.
It made our afternoon in OG very pleasant.

Happy to learn that I could chose from a variety of different china for my tea party, ie. Rosenthal, Wedgewood, or Limoges. The food was fresh, service was great, atmosphere calming, and we had a wonderful time at my daughter's bridal shower. Learning to correctly hold a tea cup presented at every table was another added touch. We will definitely go back soon, and will recommend the Lillagaard to my friends.

I had a wonderful tea time experience. The best one ever. Hard to find a good one. This is definitely best one on my list of tea rooms. I celebrated my birthday with seven of my guests. They too had a wonderful experience. The sandwiches, scones, lemon bars, fruits, and chocolate covered strawberrys were DELICIOUS! The SERVICES WERE ABOVE EXCELLENT. The hostesses ladies did a wonderful job and very attentive. I felt relaxed throughout my time there. They have hats to wear. The place was beautifully decorated, and the music was perfect. I'm already planning to have my 30th birthday party there and my sister's baby shower (eventhough she's not pregnant yet). I'm recommending this place to anyone, even if they have never been to a tea time before.

The tea selections might not have been the most extensive but the eye to detail & the extensive selection of the tea sandwiches & pastries was wonderful. I recently attended a wedding shower here & it was absolutely delightful! The hostesses went out of their way to ensure 3 (very) young 'ladies' had an extra special table set just for them & they had a blast playing dress up while the others oohed and aahed over the shower gifts. I can't wait to go there again!

This is the worst tearoom I have been to. The food sparse and lacking in imagination. The tea was served in bags and many of the choices were things like plain Tetley orange pekoe. The staff was nice, but unattentive. The prices were average.
I think it is about time Ocean Grove got a real tearoom.

As an American who has lived in London and traveled extensively throughout the UK (sampling tea rooms along the way) I consider myself a tea aficionado. I found the Victorian Tea room cheerful and pleasant with a friendly, attentive staff. Although crackers with spread and nuts on the table is not common with afternoon tea, I thought the sandwiches were decent (the best being the curried chicken), the pastries yummy (I assumed they took the place of the traditional slice of tea cake) and the scones were nice although a bit small. It wasn't exactly like England but it was still good and they make a nice effort with presentation. Would have liked loose tea leaves but tea tasted fresh nonetheless.
